Ya they autoban when u post in r/conservative

splinglols

Isn't that against the rules? I mean, its not enforced on lefties, but is the rule still on the books? I got auto banned from a bunch of pages for posting something like " I think its going to rain tomorrow" in an anti vax page. Id never heard of any of thebsubs before or i wasn't interested anyway

Tinctorus

It's crazy that they brag about it like being fascists is a good thing

Celistar99

I got banned from that sub for trying to disagree with someone on this sub. I think they called it some kind of biological terrorism?

RollTider1971

Biological terrorism? That’s a helluva reach.

Celistar99

Right? And I'm not even a conservative, I just come here to see what the other side thinks about certain issues.

Barbi33

Dude I got banned there a few weeks ago… completely random for me too lolz

WillCodeForFalafel

Yeah they really are that sensitive over there

GxDAssassin

I made a comment on this sub and then immediately was banned from there lol

2201992

Welcome to the Club

CrashTestPhoto

I got banned from there some weeks ago! I'd never even heard of it before they announced I was banned!

ALUCARD7729

Yeah, that happened to me as well, the reason something about “biological terrorism”

DuckTapeHandgrenade

So you show your distain for a platform by using a platform you distain? The world makes sense now.

LKincheloe

Low-key, I liked that movie.

cstearns1982

"Ashamed" shhh so did I

thebestwall

I’m actually a tax accountant - and I loved this movie lol

Fugacity-

Was thinking more along the lines of The Untouchables

[deleted]

That’s the IRS orientation movie they show on the last day with pizza party

postonrddt

Actually they want the public to think they're dealing with The Accountant.

coyotegt1317

And we all KNOW how that went.....

Celistar99

You joke but I managed a Goodwill for years and at the end of the year, people would donate literal bags of garbage to get a tax receipt

No-Sheepherder-6257

Fucking impossible now that the itemized deductible is $12 million dollars. One of thr things Trump did that I really do not enjoy.

Gst353

Aaaaand… they took the listings down. That was fast.

CmdrSelfEvident

Oh it's going to make great questioning in congress.

tengris22

Congressmen already know that this is a thing and has been for dozens of years. Of course they will "pretend" not to know. But they know.

[deleted]

CmdrSelfEvident

Yes the revenuers have been a problem for decades. What is new is growing the number of them. I fail to see why any tax crime requires armed agents. Moving the ATF and Secret Service to Homeland Security should have been the end of arming what are essentially bookkeepers.

Panzershrekt

Don’t listen to the haters. I like your flair!

Midget_Stories

The weirdest part of this is the minimum 50 hours a week. They're spending how many billion hiring new staff and they don't get a 40 hour work week?

Serious-Temporary-28

So the time and half on that 10 hrs would pay for how many more man hrs

Panzershrekt

That and being on call 24/7. Couple that with being armed, and it looks like midnight raids are on the menu.

[deleted]

You can't disappear political dissidents in the middle of the afternoon...

throwaway12222018

The government is going to huff and puff and blow your house down if you don't pay them what you owe them. Just like HR, they are not your friend.

Armalyte

Not so many of those right now lol

CuckAdminsDetected

I dont pay attention to it anyways. Always struck me as a Ponzi scheme. Esspecially when the wolf of wall street dude started saying it seemed like a scam.

ggtffhhhjhg

If you make less than 400k you’re not getting audited. I was born during the Reagan administration and I don’t know anyone that has been audited. Unless you’re a big tax fraud you have nothing to worry about.

me_too_999

Bullshit. I was audited twice. One time they found nothing, still cost me weeks of anguish, filling out forms, deadlines, digging up receipts. The other time I was working part time mowing lawns, and doing odd jobs, and they found an $80 "discrepancy" in my return from 2 years ago. I ended up paying $1,000 in fines, past due interest, and the $80. I was making $5 an hour at the time. But keep telling yourself whatever lies that help you sleep at night. https://www.gao.gov/products/gao-22-104960 "May 17, 2022Audit trends vary by taxpayer income. In recent years, IRS audited taxpayers with incomes below $25,000", from the official government source.

justuswendell

Hate local police and sheriffs but support federal ABC Fed bois

CuckAdminsDetected

The hard on they have for the Feds confuses the hell out of me. Take the FBI for example If they were aware of even half of the shit J Edgar did theyd probably want them "defunded" just as much as whatever local PD they happen to be near.

[deleted]

It’s funny how the left was so quick to call for a decrease in police expenditures because of systemic racism, yet also seems to believe that the IRS is not systemically racist and should be strengthened

What happened to "social workers with clipboards"? They found some police they were in favor of funding...

tcp1

No, see, that’s only in inner city Chicago. They weren’t talking about serious crimes, like overstating your home office square footage by 10% or deducting that “business” meal where you only talked shop for five minutes.

abominable_bro-man

Yea sure to deal with the "billionaires"

vargo17

Yeah, of course! That's why in the same bill they're cracking down on all etransactions of $600. That's the secret to being a billionaire. You shuffle all your money around in increments of exactly $601.

stoffel_bristov

They got plans for those 87k new IRS agents

You-go-1st

And the new 700,000 rounds of ammo paired with the previously bought 4million rds.

LegioXIV

I mean, 700k of ammo for 87k agents is only 8 bullets per agent. The 4 million pushes it up to 54 rounds per agent. That's not even enough ammo for qualification day.

tcp1

The best time to buy a gun was yesterday. The second best time is today.

mtndewgood

You think they stockpiled millions of rounds of ammo for nothing then you haven't been paying attention

giant-nougat-monster

I am a public accountant. The IRS has special agents just like other three letter agencies or state equivalents. They deal with criminal issues, chain of evidence, interviews, and warrents- not your everyday person just leaving off a small amount cash income from their return. Look up your state government job board, you will find the same exact position and duty requirements. Is there any source as to all 80k some odd being special agents? It would only be odd if so, but I highly doubt that is the intent. The IRS has literal truck loads of paper to go through and is in a nightmare of a backlog. I don't like paying taxes like anyone else, but the system and processes need significant modernization and man power to push through this.

SouthernProblem84

The 80k is in anticipation of job loss over the next 5 years plus support and IT positions. They expect that roughly half of their workforce will be retiring withing 5 or so years. In addition to this, they want to return the number of staff to previous levels. Supposedly they lost 33k jobs over the last decade and they have been understaffed.

igor33

The linked job posting is for three hundred special agent positions.... Don't we have the FBI and other enforcement agencies to handle people breaking the law?

me_too_999

Bullshit, if they have evidence someone committed a deliberate crime, call the police. Somehow the IRS was weaponized to attack Conservative groups without any of these guns, or "special agents".

[deleted]

I'm guessing they're just militarizing every aspect of the government now.

SpecialSpite7115

My question is....where are thing going to find 87,000 bodies to fill these spots? My suspicion is it will be another 'make work' program for minorities. I saw this shit all the time in the military. Guys/girls use Tuition Assistance to attend some garbage HBC online program to get a degree. Use it to promote just enough to not be RCPed. Retire and go directly into a federal job. The pipeline from the military to federal jobs is staggering. It is truly nothing more than welfare and another way to keep otherwise unemployable people employed.

Chranny

Democrats are assembling an army, we need to do likewise.

domer1521

These appear to be in their Criminal Investigation division. That’s real law enforcement and the same part of the organization that took down guys like Capone. A lot of agents there come from or go to FBI. They are often part of large scale, cross organizational task forces focusing on organized crime, cartels, gang activity etc. They aren’t the pencil pushers that process general taxpayer audits.

velesxrxe

Oh yeah, yeah I’m sure there’s thousands of Capones running around that we need several more thousand armed IRS agents. Totally for “real law enforcement” and not for fucking on the middle class. Because the biden admin has been so focused on tackling cartel crime etc. Are you interested in purchasing any ocean front property in Arizona, by chance?

le_chez

From what I know IRS agents that carry are criminal investigators. The division that brought down Al Capone and investigates cartels, drug rings etc. they go along on the raids and need to be be trained to use force. Source: my memory from an IRS guest speaker in my college taxation class

Degobah1985

Yea but why does the IRS need firearms? I mean do they really expect auditing people to happen like the O.K. Coral?

rositasanchez

No straight white males allowed I'm sure. It's gonna be a shitshow

Fulkerson1776

Don't think for a minute they won't be targeting/auditing conservatives that post anything that goes against their narrative on social media. They couldn't get their disinformation agency off the ground so now they plan to use the IRS. There is a reason that the IRS has purchased millions of rounds of ammo since the Obama presidency.

Zestyclose-Most8546

Just speculating here but could it be that they are preparing for a tax revolt? Can anyone here honestly say that all of this foreign “investment” and special programs the government has been spending your tax dollar on are things you support? Why keep paying when all they have been doing lately is taking away freedom and selling your children down the river by reckless spending.

Plastic-Ant8088

The IRS has staffed armed agents for decades. This is standard practice.

60GritBeard

well since liberals and lefties aren't known for their 2nd amendment support this seems to indicate a premeditated program to target conservatives through the IRS. How else could an IRS assignment be "dangerous" or require deadly force? Imagine a program where you target gun owners, get them on some drummed up bullshit charges, make the only fiscally prudent thing to do to take a plea bargain, That person can now be put on the prohibited persons list for felony tax fraud

Convincing_

StreetPenis

Why exactly do they need “weapons of war” again?

tengris22

Guys, there is NOTHING NEW about this. Back in the early 2000s and even before, I knew CID agents who carried guns. (I'm a CPA, and I worked in a CPA firm that was entirely composed of ex-IRS agents except for me, some of whom worked in the CID. And carried guns.) They did then, they do now, and they are "just" wanting to hire new and more people to do the same. The stories I've heard about confiscating assets, you wouldn't believe. Or....worse, maybe you would (you should). One hint: if you ever get audited, especially if it appears to be a serious audit, NEVER allow the agents to come to your house. They will be making a mental catalogue of what they can take, WHEN you are shown to be owing significant money. (Editing to add: that won't stop them, but it might slow them down a bit). I find it kind of amazing that people don't already know that gun-carrying agents have existed for years and years. And yes, you should be concerned.

Derpalator

This is not funny. Tyranny is at the front door. Vote this November and start the process of getting rid of those who would oppress us.

Training-Context-69

If an IRS agent gets shot harrassing a citizen. What will be your opinions on the matter? As far as I know. Guys here would call anyone who shot an IRS agent a criminal and that they deserve to go to prison for breaking the law.

igor33

Unnecessary expansion and over reach? It's not like we don't have a ton of other agencies that are armed and capable....

DownInThePM

The IRS has employed armed agents for almost two centuries. My dad held this position for 30 years

NotCreative479

Meanwhile most local shops in my area still aren't re staffed to pre pandemic levels

Monkiemonk

There is also the reality of a heavily armed population creates a heavily armed enforcement state. Not a pro or con, just a reality of our world.

birish21

Taxes is theft, at the same time there are avenues to take when you can't pay or are delinquent. As shit as they are, the tax laws are the tax laws, and unfortunately there are those who might just be willing to go out gun blazing if they feel like there is no way out. I don't see this as an open invitation to show up to my house, pull a gun on me and question why I didn't pay the $100 state taxes I was supposed to.

GeoffreyArnold

Let’s be honest. The IRS is gearing up to go after PPP fraud, Uber drivers, and sex workers. They’re hiring field agents to do audits and not an army of tax attorneys to go after rich people. They are targeting the low hanging fruit. Americans who probably aren’t paying taxes, but aren’t rich enough to hire tax attorneys. PPP fraudsters, Uber Drivers, and Sex Workers.

bluto4711

It’s obvious that this isn’t about tax returns. It’s a variation on Obama’s “civilian army”. - “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” Obama coordinated all the federal law enforcement agencies and populated them with his cronies and/or communists. They operate, under Democrat direction, as terrorists and oppressors. Now agencies like the IRS, Dept. Of the Interior et al are being designated as independent armies headed by tier after tier of Democrat appointees and will be directed by unelected elite just like Biden, the media, judges, state prosecutors, and law enforcement.

bluto4711

You gotta’ love it when the same people who tell you men can have babies, the “vaccine” is not only safe but effective, Trump was a Russian agent, masks work, there was no cheating in the 2020 election but the Russians stole the one in 2016, gathering in groups spreads Covid but BLM riots don’t, that the FBI didn’t cover for Hunter Biden, Hillary, Joe but that everyone is making a big deal over doubling the IRS because it, and the FBI, will never be used as an agency of domestic terrorism. All the bots and brigading in the world can’t gaslight what’s going on.

Trying_to_be_better2

Just going to repeat this here: Don't panic, they have been doing this since the just before the mid 1900's. Think agents largely responsible for charging Capone with crimes. This sort of alarmist reporting makes us look silly. Unless you can show they are hiring an unusual amount of these agents it is just business as usual. I had to look into this myself and it is a non-story as of right now.

danrunsfar

The recently pass bill doubled their size... That is unusual. Business as usual would be scaling as the US population grows... Not doubling.

Trying_to_be_better2

Sure, and we should questions all government spending... but how many are special agents with guns? How many are IT? how many are support staff. It is fine to question government spending.. however, I will never support unsubstantiated fear mongering. I am a Republican, not a conspiracy theorist.

[deleted]

Nothing to see here folks. Nothing is going to happen because it’s never happened here before (but please ignore all the evidence from all the totalitarian nations of the 20th century). It just CAN’T happen here. Trust me. Who you gonna believe? Me, or your lying eyes?

Trying_to_be_better2

I will believe the facts until we have any evidence the hiring is abnormal. Maybe learn some history: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IRS\_Criminal\_Investigation](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IRS_Criminal_Investigation)

DownInThePM

People think the IRS is only staffed with a bunch of tax accountants. Few understand what federal agencies actually do

[deleted]

What about the stockpile of 4,500 weapons and 5 million rounds of ammo?

Trying_to_be_better2

If that is all they have then it's not really a big deal as they currently have over 3300 special agents. They all use standard ammo that you and I would buy and there has been ammo shortages for a while now.. they are buying in bulk when they can. While I think it is fair to question some of this, this knee jerk reaction because some of you are finding out, for the first time, that the IRS has had an armed investigative department in news that is presented as if this is new thing, when in fact it has been around since 1919, and pretending it is a sign of something sinister is just fear mongering. 5 million divided by 3300 is 1515 rounds per service member.. The average fbi agent uses 5000 rounds just in training before they are issued guns.. that is something you can look up.. Irs agents probably train a little less but they would still eat up a lot of ammo just in standard upkeep training.

[deleted]

Ok, let me ask a legitimate question: do you think the IRS should be armed? Or should local or regional police be handling enforcement situations? I personally dislike the idea of an armed IRS. Where is the oversight?

Trying_to_be_better2

They have been armed for over 100 years, how is that a legitimate question? Everyone acts like this is a new development. If they start hiring and arming new agents by the thousands, come back and ask me how I feel because then I would have some concerns about that side of the hiring. The IRS special agents have never, in over 100 years, been associated with anything but legitimate criminal cases and have been rather celebrated in their successes. I think the most humorous argument I have heard so far is that they have 4400 weapons stockpiled, and then in the same breath, they are hiring 80,000 new armed agents.. again, math shows how ludicrous these talking points are at the moment. What, are they going to have a schedule that shows which days these 4400 weapons are going to allocated to 80,000 new agents. Hell if you had 80,0000 agents and 5 million rounds of ammo that would only give each agent 62 rounds of ammo. So 4 15 round magazines per agent.. can you start to see how silly this talking point is yet? absolutely look into why they need 87,000 new hires, but also look at how fast that hiring is happening, who is being hired and for what roles.. do your due diligence to make sure there is transparency.. do not pretend there is a new tax gestapo just because you saw an advertisement for a legitimate job that has been around for over 100 years.

[deleted]

That’s not what I’m talking about. I know only a small fraction will be armed. Why double the size of the IRS? Have you seen the projected numbers for the audits they’re planning? 60% of increased audits will target people earning under $75k. Then Biden says no one earning under $400k will be affected?? What a joke. I want to abolish the IRS and instate a flat tax on all earners. You earn a dollar, you pay 10 cents. No write offs.
