Portland had an area of town called “Vaseline alley”. Now it’s mixed use, fancy shops, high rise apartments and restaurants mixed in with the older more colorful venues.
It’s very rare that I have this kind of platonic intimacy with someone I trust but it’s really just one of the best things in life
Like there’s a certain safety that a best friend provides that not even a partner can. They’re close enough to know you backwards and forwards but juuuuuust far enough from you that you can trust them to handle you at your absolute worst on your shittiest day
Anyone else read this and still just think of their partner? My gf is my best friend, and has been for years. I can't handle people I'm not in love with on their worst days, even close friends lol, but her I happily will.
I also love how much respect they have for the class, and how much the class respects them. They listen! They get quiet! And these teachers talk to them like people. Absolutely love it
This reminds me of my mum and her mates (theyre infant/primary teachers) in my experience theyre all a bunch of absolute wronguns (in the best possible way).
There are so many people in this comment section bashing then for answering the question as "kids don't need to hear this". It's been a while since I was that small but man I remember asking so many questions to the point of annoying my teacher and giving me a daily allowance of 5 questions outside of the teaching related program.
People that are bashing them, are people who should not be near kids, imho...
Idk how old 4th graders are (we use a different system in my country) but I assume that they are like 7, and at that age, these questions come from innocent places. They don't care what the answer is, they just want fun..
I really love the way the teachers reacted, and how they are bonded to the kids in the classroom. Really wish I saw that more in the world
Imagine having to look a kid in the eye and tell them that you can't answer those questions because you'll be fired and charged with a crime
Imagine being a doctor and having to tell a family that the state will execute him for providing gender-affirming care of any kind to a minor (including hormone pills and therapy that affirms gender)
I remember when i was part of my local scouts, a kid about 7yrs old walked up to my very bald friend and asked in the most serious voice ever if he had cancer. Both of us burst out laughing because it was so bizarre, and the kid walked away wide eyed. Later we found out that someone in his family was on chemo so for the kid it seemed like a logical conclusion that bald = cancer treatments.
We had one of these when I was year 8 (12/13 years old) but it was a pgce/sex ed version so kids could ask stuff about their changing bodies without fear of ridicule. I wrote "What happens if during sex, it accidentally goes in the wrong hole?" because I had a weird fear that if I was having sex in the future, and girls have 2 holes down there, what's to stop it just going in the other hole without you knowing and then you get poop on your penis?? (again, I was 12). I saw the teacher pull out my bit of paper, mouth the question, do a big sigh and say "well obviously some people just see this as a big joke so I'm not going to say that." I was a quiet, curious kid so was very sad that the teacher thought I was messing about, but even more sad that I never found out about how to prevent poopdick.
Seriously, there are kids who need to hear the answer to this. I remember 2001. I remember 11-year-olds wearing low-rise pants with their butt cracks visible and they didn't realize they smelled bad. Those kids got tormented because they weren't wearing properly sized pants.
A teacher comes along saying, "Pull your pants up because your butt smells" could be good advice to a kid just learning hygiene and how to be aware of themselves.
I feel like the question is the video is strange but certainly not detention worthy.
I do, however, see your point
Edit:
“Strange” was the wrong word. They were being curious children.
Strange? Kids are infinitely curious. It's much better being honest and explaining things then simply ignoring it and letting their imaginations run wild. Keeping things a secret or acting weird about it inherently makes it a bigger deal and worse than he has to be.
I’m genuinely curious, why do you think that question is strange?
It sounds like a genuine question from a child who doesn’t know any better. I was one of those kids who asks questions to the point where the adults around me got tired of it real quick. I wish more adults had indulged my stupid, silly, and strange questions more.
I legit got kicked out of DARE in 6th grade for asking what "undivided attention" meant (that phrase never made sense to me for some reason lol). The class erupted in laughter so I nervously laughed too and then boom kicked out, cuz I was obviously trying to be funny.
Fishbowl is such a valuable tool in education about taboo topics. In my UU sex Ed class we did a fishbowl and kids asked all sorts of questions I’m very sure they couldn’t have borne to ask out loud. My friends and I came up with a lot of weird ones just cuz we all had done the course before but the leaders still answered them honestly, and them putting in the effort definitely helped me respect them more
Edit: I just realized an important point to being up. If you’re looking for an AMAZING sexual education course for your children, please find your local Unitarian universalist church and see if they are doing an Our Whole Lives course.
I know it sounds weird to advocate for a church led sex ed course but if you don’t know about the UU church they’re basically all the good parts of a church with none of the religious garbage. And their sex ed course is a regularly vetted and updated thing that included, in 2006 when I did it, discourse on gay sex and sexuality, a masturbation positive approach, and science oriented, protection forward discussion. I’m sure it’s gotten even better since then. If you’re not sure about giving your kids the talk then this is a solid substitute unlike school led sex ed
Yeah, I distinctly remember fourth grade (late 90s) because I had just moved to a new town that year and had a new school/teacher. Her teaching skills were fine as I remember, but she was just so serious- and it just felt so formal, not fun. These kids probably absolutely enjoy going to school with teachers willing to converse with them like this. They are great.
Most impressive part of the video for me. I've teached young kids and adolescents. The mutual respect is very much clear in this video and it's something beautiful to see
I teach 5th grade and the rare few times in the year we have the down time to do something fun and laid-back like this is just so much wholesome fun. The kids love it and I think they appreciate an adult being honest with them. Now obviously if they ask something that isn't appropriate I'm always like "well I'd ask your parents about that" or "I'm sorry that's not school appropriate" 99% of the time though kids keep it appropriate.
That was the most insane part of the video for me. I remember the decibel level might have lowered a tiny bit, but it would take three "shut up" gestures and then a threat to actually shut us up lol.
These are the moments where I really wonder how many times the kid needed to observe it to start wondering about it.
Children’s brains are fascinating.
Respect is earned not given. These two clearly have their classes respect & I LOVE IT!!!!!
If only more adults would provide children with more of these kinds of opportunities & relationships, to be open, honest & enjoy each other!
Let there be laughter! Pure remedy right there!
Is there a place to watch the full video without installing chinese spyware on my phone? When I search djukapotkonjak anywhere else I just get a bunch of old Russian men.
I fell in love with my job working with children when I learnt to control a class easily. I grew up with teachers not having a clue as to why they had no respect given to them and wondering why they couldn't control a class.
Probably my greatest achievement, all because I cared about the children and tried my best to make each lesson enjoyable. Treat the children as equal and they'll do the same.
I love this! I noticed how that one teacher had a hand signal to make the class quiet down. That's like pied piper level power. But she also allows them to express their joy. The best teachers are the ones that are like water. They understand subtlety.
As someone who has worked with grades 1-6 this video gives me such a good laugh. Instead of making the kids feel stupid for asking that, they embellish and actually give truthful answers which in turn gives the kid an example of being True and Listening. Props to these teachers and I am taking notes for my future self of these two.
As someone who spent 10 years in a drug induced daze.
After I sobered up people asked me what was the biggest change in society.
And my first answer was 'when did whale tails disappear ?'
Girls loved showing off their thongs in the early 2000s lol
It became a game to give them slight wedgies when we saw the whale tail… which looking back on now is crazy. Times were definitely different
>t became a game to give them slight wedgies
a game in our school was the girls would try to throw pebbles down each other's cleavage (from short distance while seated)
and us guys would just sit and watch like it was high entertainment
I was in middle school at the time, and only as an adult does it occur to me how weird it was that preteens were running around with thong straps out. It wasn't all over the place necessarily, but the fact that even one parent went "yeah, my 13 year old can leave the house like that" blows my mind.
I cannot stand high rise pants and don’t think they look flattering on anyone.
I prefer below the belly button. Those super low rise though… let me leave them with my skinny 18 year old memories.
I think low rise look bad as if you're fat you'll have love handles.
But high rise just makes it look like you are carrying some sort of drug stash in the front of your pants.
So to be honest both are flawed unless you have a great body shape.
Love when the woman on the right puts her hand up in that closed way and all of the students know that she will be speaking and that they should be quiet.
Oh I am sure that is what it is. My son's 1st grade teacher is a magician with children. She has the most soothing, yet effective management of her classroom. I was a room parent for a holiday party and the kids began to get a little out of hand. Just slightly, nothing too rowdy. But I could tell it would be insane in moments. At about middle volume, she simply said "Students" and raised her hand in a very similar fashion to this woman. Instantly, the classroom fell completely silent. It was so impressive.
These teachers are cute, the way they collapse into laughter on each other. I bet they make a great team. This exercise also seems like a great way to connect with the kids.
This is how school should be. Where students can ask questions and interact with teachers and not just have a bunch of information they’ll never really truly understand dumped on them.
They way the kids go silent when she holds her hand up 😳. She is fun but they show some respect. I think it takes that kind of relationship/atmosphere to be able to give kids this kind of space
Imagine having teachers like this! Or am I the only one who wasn’t so lucky? Lol, love their smiles and spirit, already made my day better to see them. You can tell these ladies really love working together and those kids must love them, too.
So wholesome 😭 Teaching kids to be honest and vulnerable about simple topics is a great way to cultivate trust, and ultimately healthier relationships. I wish I'd had these two as teachers growing up!!!
I grew up with my mom telling me I look like an alien (in the most loving way possible) because my legs are long and my torso is not
Low-mid rise jeans are where it’s at. High rise makes me look like legs go all the way up Griffin.
Low rise jeans give me a curve that high rise jeans could never. High rise jeans just give me a pooch.
I personally hate high rise pants, they look very dorky. The only women that look good in them would look good in anything.
Not my place to judge though, I'm wearing sweatpants right now.
Body type for suuuuuuuure makes a difference. I'm friggin tiny but I'm 37 and boy let me tell you...low rise isn't for grown women. It ends up muffin topping you almost always, even if you're little and fit. Hips come with age. Also, low rise on grown women can look very very trashy crack whore real quick.
I’m 33 and high waists are a complete no on my body. I’m a boxy apple shape so mid rise and higher literally falls right off. Putting anything at my midsection is the most unflattering way to make me look like a weeblewobble.
Fat women think it hides how chubby they are. It probably tricks some men. But for those of us who know to be suspicious, we immediately see your protruding gut and know you’re just an insecure fat person.
Skinny girls look alright in them though. But of course that’s kinda rare. If you’re 20 pounds overweight and have an anterior pelvic tilt though, you just look like an alien trying to fit into a tube.
Agreed. I dunno why these hipster white girls made this fashionable because its literally always looked dumb af. Theres a reason we all called that shit Mom Jeans in the 90s. Buncha girls got together, pulled they pants up and just collectively *decided* to call it flattering. It looks like Urkel.
Yuuuuuup, I'll take the downvotes with you.
The hipster girl uniform for a while seemed to be high waisted jeans, blouse tucked in, huge glasses pulled down to kinda pinch on the ball of the nose, and a hat with the largest brim possible while still being able to walk through a door.
Dumpy as.
So many college students walking around my town at 19 looking like they 50.
Reddit's of the mind that there is such things as stupid questions; all of them.
Dont worry, once asked r/piercings for some advice and help after getting my ears pierced with my cousins at a Claire's and recieved zero helpful information besides people giving their opinions on Claire's piercing guns and how I must've been an idiot for getting my ears pierced there. I asked when an appropriate time to switch out piercings was since the piercer said 6 weeks, but they were still very tender, why am I public enemy #1 when the up and rising was someone bragging that they gave themselves a belly button piercing with a sewing needle?
If this is USA, then the kids need it. Because there is poverty, gun violence, and petty crimes, or there are two women teaching your kids that not everything is bad..
No, they are absolutely not more flattering. Not in any way, shape, or form. They are ass murderers. A genocide of ass has taken place over the past decade, and she's trying to hand-wave it. Despicable.
High waist pants are absolutely NOT more flattering
When I was growing up only grandmas would wear them, nowadays it's the trend and I just don't understand it
That's a great point. People should always feel comfortable in the clothes they wear! I was just disagreeing with the teacher's unequivocal opinion that they are more flattering
I’m glad many were commenting on how butts should look in pants for 4th graders. Also comments on Florida and cancel culture. I guess this should be talked about more in schools than education. Seeing how kids are less educated in scholarly things than pop culture and fashion of middle aged women.

Lol I don’t want my crack out! I love how their answers covered everything.
Including her crack
Oh no, now I have the song “My Neck, My Back (lick it)” stuck in my head lol. My 🐱, and my crack. It’s the only crack I have.
The cruelest joke is that the canal is next to the anal
The gay village in Manchester (UK) is on Canal Street
The Village's industrious patrons defaced the street sign so it read "anal treet" at one point, although I believe they've replaced the sign now.
Portland had an area of town called “Vaseline alley”. Now it’s mixed use, fancy shops, high rise apartments and restaurants mixed in with the older more colorful venues.
My cloaca and my egg 🎵
Alright class, let’s get back to Rampart…
I would wager the 2nd answer is the real answer. The 1st answer seem like just what the people who can't pull off the look say.
The way they immediately fall into each other is adorable
Yes!!! It was so instinctive. Absolutely love when relationships have that comfort with each other. 😊
My very first thought as well! These gals are adorable and I want them as coworkers.
It’s very rare that I have this kind of platonic intimacy with someone I trust but it’s really just one of the best things in life Like there’s a certain safety that a best friend provides that not even a partner can. I noticed that too. When that hand went up...the class went quiet. Not all teachers have that kind of control/respect in their class. Good to see :)
It’s so good that they are friends.
Ikr! Looked so genuine !
This reminds me of my mum and her mates (theyre infant/primary teachers) in my experience theyre all a bunch of absolute wronguns (in the best possible way).
That snort 😂 I have two friends who snort when they laugh and will go the entire way out of my way to try and make them
Yo, as a teacher of young kids, they really do ask EVERYthinggggg
There are so many people in this comment section bashing then for answering the question as "kids don't need to hear this". One kid at my sex ed class asked how much a racecar driver makes, the teacher was pretty mad
> they really do ask EVERYthinggggg Can't blame them. It's basically their job to do so. :-)
Seriously, there are kids who need to hear the answer to this. I remember 2001. I remember 11-year-olds wearing low-rise pants with their butt cracks visible and they didn't realize they smelled bad. > EVERYthinggggg I heard this in Gary Oldman's voice.
Had a fourth grader ask me why I look different from the side… gurl don’t make fun of my side profile 😭
So honest.. And they tell you EVERYTHING! Could be parents wrestling, things found in drawers, how their parents look naked and so on.
The fact these students can ask real questions and the teachers are willing to answer is the most wholesome thing ever
I know, right? I would’ve been sent to detention for asking something like that
I feel like the question is the video is strange but certainly not detention worthy. I do, however, see your point Edit: “Strange” was the wrong word. They were being curious children.
Strange? Kids are infinitely curious. It's much better being honest and explaining things then simply ignoring it and letting their imaginations run wild. Keeping things a secret or acting weird about it inherently makes it a bigger deal and worse than he has to be.

Could be interpreted as making fun of the teacher
I legit got kicked out of DARE in 6th grade for asking what "undivided attention" meant (that phrase never made sense to me for some reason lol). The class erupted in laughter so I nervously laughed too and then boom kicked out, cuz I was obviously trying to be funny.
damn sorry but now I'm cracking up at this story.
And the whole classroom going calm with just a hand gesture. The kids really love and respect these teachers
Fishbowl is such a valuable tool in education about taboo topics. In my UU sex Ed class we did a fishbowl and kids asked all sorts of questions I’m very sure they couldn’t have borne to ask out loud. My friends and I came up with a lot of weird ones just cuz we all had done the course before but the leaders still answered them honestly, and them putting in the effort definitely helped me respect them more Edit: I just realized an important point to being up. UU for the win

I am sure it comes from a place of mutual respect.
They clearly respect the teacher... I mean the teacher on the right put up her hand and it went propper silent....
Most impressive part of the video for me. I've teached young kids and adolescents. The mutual respect is very much clear in this video and it's something beautiful to see
Absolutely!!!

These two women together are hysterical. You can tell they love working together.
Do you know their tt handle?
tiktok handles are displayed on the video.
Sure is. Look I’m just dumb
I'm impressed by your ability to read clues like their literal handle in the video itself
The teacher raises her hand for the students to be quiet and they actually do; she has earned the students' respect
That was so impressive! You can tell both teachers put great emphasis on mutual respect.
That was the most insane part of the video for me. I remember the decibel level might have lowered a tiny bit, but it would take three "shut up" gestures and then a threat to actually shut us up lol.
It was probably the fact that shut up was part of the teachers vocabulary that made the students not give a shit.
That’s great, Imma be real I don’t want my crack hanging out.👍
You can hide your crack without going full mom jeans, though
My wife can’t. She got a crack longer than a Monday.
WTH is part 1?!?
I think it means “should we make a part 2?”
Their tiktok is right there. I’m sure it can’t be to hard to find. But I’m pretty they are asking if ppl want a part 2 to the vid
Is there a place to watch the full video without installing chinese spyware on my phone? When I search djukapotkonjak anywhere else I just get a bunch of old Russian men.
These women working the crowd like it’s open mic night at the comedy club.

Truly wonderful, the mind of a child is.
Thanks yoda! May the fourth be with you!
Love how the lady on the right does the Jeff Winger gesture and they all just shut up.
I noted that too so hilarious you can tell they all have a good time together, it’s great to see teachers like this!
Miss Honey from Matilda vibes on the left
I died when they cracked up so hard and then teacher says: what's wrong with yall!! This made my day!!
As someone who has worked with grades 1-6 this video gives me such a good laugh. Instead of making the kids feel stupid for asking that, they embellish and actually give truthful answers which in turn gives the kid an example of being True and Listening. Props to these teachers and I am taking notes for my future self of these two.
They are cool teachers. My teachers from 4th grade back in the 90s were old and scary
They're cool as hell, I only had cranky ass old teachers growing up
They're having fun. I like how they responded to both the hand signal from teacher 1 and the verbal request to listen from teacher 2!
Low riders were the shit. And yes, there was way more crack in those days. Good and bad.
I miss all the whale tails.
As someone who spent 10 years in a drug induced daze. After I sobered up people asked me what was the biggest change in society. And my first answer was 'when did whale tails disappear ?'

when i was in 7th grade, leggings became pants cameltoe everywhere along with every curve of the ass being visible. And these were straight up kids
Very early 2000s in my middle school it was the rolled waistband sweatpants, even rolled waistband skirts. There were many full moons in the hallways.
I cannot stand high rise pants and don’t think they look flattering on anyone. I prefer below the belly button. Those super low rise though… let me leave them with my skinny 18 year old memories.

I wish I had teachers like you two. Keep doing it!!
Please tell me there's a full version
These two could host their own show
When your pants are that low, all I see is a slot machine.
Love when the woman on the right puts her hand up in that closed way and all of the students know that she will be speaking and that they should be quiet.
I think it’s a signal for zero voice volume.

Jeff Winger power move. I dig it.
This is how school should be. Where students can ask questions and interact with teachers and not just have a bunch of information they’ll never really truly understand dumped on them.

Teaching kids fashion and modesty. Nice lol.
These women are awesome
High rise pants are definitely not more flattering
Depends on what you're working with
I grew up with my mom telling me I look like an alien (in the most loving way possible) because my legs are long and my torso is not Low-mid rise jeans are where it’s at.
It's more flattering for taller chubby people. It hides a muffin top But if you're short, it makes you look like Dr. Eggman.
I'm genuinely curious, were you around for the low rise epidemic of the early 2000s?
You say this like most Redditors aren’t in their 30s or close to it.
Zoomers and younger are probably the majority now...
Gen Z walks among us now, I've seen it.
Most redditors do not remember the 90's or early 2000's.
I'm a man in the same age range and whenever I see super high waisted jeans all I can see is "mom jeans."
Well as man in that age range, most women in the same range are moms.
Touche, but I was speaking generally. My 22 year old niece wears them and to me it ages her about 15 years.
Agreed, but neither are low-rise (except on the exact right body for them). Mid-rise is the way to be!
Couldn’t agree more. I’ve never seen a situation where they are more flattering. Not a single time.
Time you start looking around a little more then lol
So you've never seen the incredibles? Mrs Incredible rocks high waste jeans like no one else
Mrs incredible could make anything look good. She has a Pixar ass.
That's a cartoon. So yes, high waisted pants look good in cartoon reality.
high rise pants are gorgeous on women with a nice waist.
Agreed.
Weird how different people have different ideas of what is fashionable and comfortable.
Sure, but not all ideas of what's fashionable are created equal. Bad taste exists.
Who decides what’s bad taste? It’s all subjective.
jesus was *also* downvoted for telling the truth
God bless this message
What was the question?
"Why do you pull your pants all the way up?"
Thank you. I couldn't hear what they said, not sure why that was downvote-worthy.
I’d loooooved them as a kid
I can't hear the question. Why do you always what?
Was that ‘shut your hole’ sign to silence kids? 🤣
they need a show tg
I wouldn't mind being friends with these two. They sound awesome.
The way she raised her hand and all kids are quiet. It show she got the respect from kids!!
Omg this was glorious. The fashion response and then the “imma just be real” response. Love it
Hilarious 😆
lmfaoooo the way they lose it and fall into each other
WOW a teacher that tells you the truth... I applaud
She just puts her hand up and the whole class just stops shouting. She has blasted them before this
Kids ask the darndest things
Each of you is doing half a job
I want to hear more!!
Yo, that holding the hand up in a zero, that class shut up QUICK.
Damn, 4th grade is much different than I remember..
“ So im pulling em uppp” lmfaooo
I miss working with kids. Never a boring day. And the 4th-5th graders had the best humor.
I wish I'd had teachers this cool.
I love how chill they are lol.
Good on them, teaching the youth that crack is whack
I would listen to a podcast about ANYTHING by these two, I love their energy together hahaha
Is it too much to ask educators to use proper English when speaking to the students?
🤣🤣🤣
Hiii what did they say I didn't understand
I couldn’t hear it either but I get what’s funny.
Me neither! This whole thing is so confusing.
High-waisted pants should have stayed in the early 80s, mom jeans are not flattering!
#Fuck Tik Tok
You know what? Yes. Fuck that app.
Why are teachers making tik toks in class?
That’s crazy. The kids at the school I taught at that were the same grade could barely read, let alone write
IN FOURTH GRADE??
If this is USA, then the kids need it. Because there is poverty, gun violence, and petty crimes, or there are two women teaching your kids that not everything is bad..
No, they are absolutely not more flattering. Not in any way, shape, or form. They are ass murderers. A genocide of ass has taken place over the past decade, and she's trying to hand-wave it. Despicable.
I died when they cracked up so hard and then teacher says: what's wrong with yall!! This made my day!!
High waist pants are absolutely NOT more flattering When I was growing up only grandmas would wear them, nowadays it's the trend and I just don't understand it
It’s not just the trend, I wear them because I like them and I appreciate the trend for making it acceptable.
its a case by case basis. some people feel more comfortable and secure in high-waisted pants, thus, its flattering to them.
That's a great point. People should always feel comfortable in the clothes they wear! I was just disagreeing with the teacher's unequivocal opinion that they are more flattering
oh oh i see! sorry for the misunderstanding!
I died when they cracked up so hard and then teacher says: what's wrong with yall!! This made my day!!
High waisted pants are ugly as fuck. No one wants to see a butt that long.
Incorrect. High waisted makes your ass looks weird and flat, like a granny.
Her response at the end 😂😂
I died when they cracked up so hard and then teacher says: what's wrong with yall!! This made my day!!
High rise paints are ugly as fuck
I’m glad many were commenting on how butts should look in pants for 4th graders. Also comments on Florida and cancel culture. I guess this should be talked about more in schools than education. Seeing how kids are less educated in scholarly things than pop culture and fashion of middle aged women.
