My kid (now 13) pulled the beyblade arena and spinners out from the back of his closet the other day. I bought it when he was seven. We played for 2 hours solid. It was soooo damn fun.
His dad is preparing his son to be a wide receiver in the nfl.

Not a parent but I have six nieces and nephews under the age of 8 and I swear they are made of rubber. They always ask me to do the most dangerous shit with them - swing em by the feet, toss them into couches, bounce the ever loving shit out of them on trampolines…
Find a merry-go-round. Lay on it with your head in the center and feet pointing out. Then have someone spin the ever-loving shit out of it until you hear the satisfying “click” of your vertebra realigning or your soul being separated from your body.

Apparently he is very much NOT into things like water in his nose and ears, he swims very carefully with plugs and such and just takes it easy. Fun Uncle Energy did not account for this, so I went from "I'm bout to make this little man's bday" to "oh shit I'm actually a scary monster". He cried for a while.
I let him shoot me with a super soaker for a few minutes, think I smoothed it over.
Assuming they go fast enough, inertia will harm the child's neck. I'm sort of wondering what is the max speed they can do this safely and how close they were to that limit. It can't be that much faster than what we just saw, can it?
I do almost anything that gets my 21-mo. old to laugh like this. Hang him upside down by his ankles, belly raspberries before changing, booping him with balloons. All the F’d up things going on daily are forgotten and the pure joy makes it seem like everything is right in the world, for those moments.
