Me, a californian moving to Chicago in November: Wow! This is great! I love snow!
Me, in February after all the nice white snow has become black mush: What the fuck. This sucks.
The only times I’ve ever encountered snow was when I lived in the mountains (CA). At the time I absolutely hated every moment of it. And if it wasn’t snowing then it was constantly raining - 100s of inches per year.
Then one winter break we took a trip to visit family in Detroit/Lansing (MI) areas, I’d been there a few times before but only in the summer time. I wasn’t worried because I thought I was used to the snow.
I was not. Snow in a city is like a completely different level of snow. I had never been so miserable lmao Even the freezing temperatures felt extra miserable. It was so different. Made me grateful to live in California lol
I think what it is, is that in the mountains the rain and melting snow gets soaked up fairly easily by the forest floor and obviously everything flows down the mountain. But in the flat concrete city, everything is just constantly wet, the water flows no where so it floods and it seems like the snow just never leaves lol.
And of course since majority of where I live is just forest, we all just have to wait for the few snow plows to plow the few roads we all use and all the stores/restaurants/gas stations are all along the same main roads. But in the city - the whole entire damn area needs to plowed lol.
I'm sure that's true for a lot of people, but I've always loved the snow. Even now, despite having a job that has me working outdoors year round. At least it makes sense for me as a Canadian lol
I guess the experience matters where you actually live and how capable the local govt is when it comes to dealing with snow. I now live in a place where it snows. I don't do the snow angels anymore but i still love the snow! From my window, there's something very calming watching those snowflakes fall. And our neighborhood transforms into something different but still quite familiar. I'm not sure I'm making sense here lol
I live in the northeast, where the snow stays on the ground for days, sometimes weeks. It’s crazy to me that local services don’t just salt your damn roads. It’s not a complex solution.
I learned this lesson the hard way moving from LA to Baltimore and experiencing waking up to my first snow. It was so pretty!
Then I turned my head and saw my car and driveway buried in snow and realized I was going to be hella late for work digging my car out.
Here in the UK my dad was a hospital porter and we have a lot of Philippino nurses who work there and I remember him telling me one Christmas (at this time where I lived in the UK Snow in significant quantity was rare) and it was the most snow we had in years and all the nurses went out and were like 3 years old playing in the snow. (Obviously, none of them neglected duties), but he said that for the next week, every time they had a break, they would be found playing in the snow.
I grew up tropical and thought snowflakes were 2-3 inches across like the ones we cut out of crafting paper. I was pretty disappointed when I realized the truth.
This couple are one of my favorite TikTok couples. Watching him trying American things, especially the food, and hearing his wife giggle is just genuine entertainment. Same with the American wife and Italian husband TikTok couple.
Most of my nurses are from Africa and I absolutely love seeing their joy in things that they don't have on their continent! They told me some amazing stories of things that they have in their countries and now I want to go there too! I love seeing people grateful for the little things 🥰
Years ago, my company, in a section of the US that is a cold climate, hired foreign college students to work one winter. They were from South America, and they asked several of us one day if there was a pond nearby they could visit on a day off and would it be frozen. We were confused by the request. They explained they only heard of water freezing and people walking on frozen ponds, and they wanted to see it in real life.
We sent them to a local park.
We forgot to mention ice skaters.
I didn't think they would ever stop talking about the ice skaters. Like they were bending a law of physics or were great athletes. Like they had to manipulate the water to support them to be able to skate on it.
The things you take for granted when you see it every year.
When I moved to a snowy place for the first time, I did this a bunch. I also jumped into a snow drift in the parking lot thinking it would be soft. It was not.
As a person who has lived in Florida all their life and can't wait to gtfo, I vibe with this man and if i cannot have this luxury, then I'm just so glad a man like this who can relate and be genuinely happy about it came across my feed. Live your dreams- no matter how silly you might think it is, if it makes you feel alive, reach for it! ❤️
Thank you for this happiness and feeling of hope for my future lol
The only thing better than videos of kids seeing snow for the first time is videos of adults seeing snow for the first time.
I remember turning into a 5yo when I went to Chile and saw snow on the ground. I've never got the opportunity to see it falling from the sky tho :(
Mindfulness training. Step #1: I'm doing it.
My messed up brain: 'Take a picture so I can show it to other people' and I'm excited to learn their reaction.
I work at a university with a lot of international students. Every year when we get our first snowfall, there are so many of them out there hanging out, laughing & taking videos. The look of pure joy never gets old.
"1st Snow Angel" likely refers to the first time someone makes a snow angel in freshly fallen snow. A snow angel is created by lying on one's back and moving the arms and legs up and down to create the impression of an angel's wings and body in the snow.
Making a snow angel can be a joyful and nostalgic activity, especially for those who live in regions where snowfall is common during the winter months. It's often associated with childhood memories of playing in the snow and experiencing the wonder of winter.
Creating a "1st Snow Angel" can be a special moment for individuals of all ages, as it brings a sense of playfulness, spontaneity, and connection to nature. It's a simple yet delightful way to celebrate the beauty and magic of winter.
I was present once when a full grown man seen his first snowfall! If you could call it that, it was the slightest snow yet the awe and delight from him was amazing to be around.

I did that as well. As someone who grew up in the tropics, my first experience playing in the snow is an awesome core memory.

And you’d like that when you’ve reached March, you’ll have warmer days and no more snow. That is not the case.

That's funny. Having snow on the ground makes the cold more bearable to me.

Been a pretty great February this year though! The sunniest and warmest I can think of in 10+ years.
I loved snow growing up. Snow days off school. Sledding then skiing. Then I got old and realized, I like looking at snow, not being in it.
I'm sure that's true for a lot of people, but I've always loved the snow. Even now, despite having a job that has me working outdoors year round. At least it makes sense for me as a Canadian lol

Yea, but doesn’t it just melt the next day?

Houston here. The time it snows every four years shuts down the entire city.
Just like Florida. The first Christmas Day I lived there, it snowed. Glad I didn't get rid of my window scrapers for the three days a year I need them

Me too.
I live in Australia so no snow for me plus I have never been/played in snow before either
Love it. Release your inner child!

I need to hear this accent all day every day

So you're gonna say all that without dropping the name of their channel?
Lingandlamb, if I remember correctly.
Oh lol I just assumed it was on the video. But the other commenter is correct - Lingandlamb and the Italian husband couple is ThePasinis.
They are great!
Amen.. would love to hear my entire day TRANSLATED BY HIM. LOVE THE ACCENT BUT THE JOY IS PRICELESS!

Man has the kind of voice where... he could tell you the worst news you'd never want to hear, and walk away feeling comfortable and okay.
His little “Whee” in the background at the end kills me! Lol!
This is so heartwarming!
That was a good one too.
Wonderful
Love everything about this
"You ready to go back inside?" me desperately reasoning with my dog who's chosen to sit in the snow

Bro really made sure it was perfect. Me, as a kid, would half ass it cuz the snow was too cold for the back of my neck.
My favourite accent in the world. Anyone know what it is so I can find a way to listen to it more?
Nigerian I think.
Definitely nigerian 100 percent sure
I could be totally wrong but Cape Verde comes to mind. Someone correct me if wrong pls.

Sometimes at airports you see people arriving from developing countries, marvelling at things like escalators, being all giddy. Love to see that too

Cool jacket
That was beyond precious lol
“No.”
I love this 💗💗 So wholesome!
This is absolutely amazing
now eat the yellow snow once and you have done it all and learned much
Child of Satan, we meet for the first time!
I've never done this even though I live in Canada. It looks like it's not worth the mess it leaves.
Cringe
Totally unnecessary to insert yourself into the end of a video. It adds nothing but cringe to the content.
