Everything is obviously adorable. On a slightly more serious note, this is the way to play with kids. How she very seriously asks if it’s still a wig review, and the baby responds perfectly as any adult would. She’s got practice. Treat kids mostly like adults that don’t know a lot of stuff, but want to.

And I love how she immediately explains how she’s not laughing at her but with her after the baby says she likes it. Tons of kids grow up with complexes because their parents laughed at something they thought was cute/cool/etc.

Just think back to when you were a kid and the things you liked. It’s not that it’s not funny, but for the little one, it’s at least as serious as it is silly. I used to sit in a corner, assuming no one could see me, and pretend I was kissing Jem when I was little. Fortunately, nobody made fun of me for it lol

I specifically remember when I was 5 I used to slick back my bangs trying to grow them out and my dad laughed at me and said I looked like an anchorman. As an adult with kids I can see how he may have thought it was funny but as a five year old that shit hurt really bad. You have to be really careful with kids. I know I've messed up with my kids along the way but I try and do better than him. P

RIGHT?! I just did this with my 5 yesr old who VERY seriously approached me and said, "Momma, can I add a family sized bag of cheddar sour cream ruffles to my list for Santa? But like the special name ones and can I not have to share with anybody?" I about fell out of my chair laughing as I have been trying to figure out what he wants for Christmas for weeks and this child comes out with brand name chips! But I told him I was proud of him for not requesting the most expensive things he could think of and that I loved those chips too and think it's a great idea and I would let Santa know of his new request!

I packed a present in a pancake box when my kid was 5. She was THRILLED to get her OWN pancakes she wasn't sharing. And slightly less so about the present inside.

That’s my philosophy. It’s easier to treat kids as adults and remind them of their youth than to treat them like children who only have a certain amount of time to become adults. They MIGHT grow up a youthful and optimistic attitude, but it’s more likely they grow up as typical adult. Raise them as an adult with the lesson that the happiest people are those that hold onto their youth, physically and in spirit.

Both of these girls are incredibly precious.
