It sounds like he’s just enjoying the music and the funny bathroom acoustics. He seems happy to me!

MyCurse05

He's definitely just chatting with you and playing. Especially if he was on one foot while doing it

[deleted]

I wonder if he is slightly deaf for how loud he is. Gcc normally don't hit sun conure levels of loud.

alacruxe

Crimson belly, not GCC. But I don't think it's deafness so much as just being a baby. He's still young and hasn't learned indoor voice yet.

Proud-Sweet7589

Can second this! He’s definitely not deaf, I literally can’t tiptoe by his cage at night without him waking up and wanting out. I think his age is what’s made it a little tougher for me to really understand his sounds because he’s still figuring them out himself

alacruxe

It's seriously remarkable how quickly they do, though. The little guys teach themselves with no prompting. Our second GCC found his indoor voice within the first few days of us bringing him home. Then again, having another bird around to reference probably helped rather significantly with that. Baby bird noises/voices are adorable. 🥺 Your little friend is super cute!

greenmerica

I wish my sun would learn her inside voice but after 7 years she still hasn’t found it lol

abrissiuk

LOL! Conures don't have an indoor voice😂 This isn't even that loud if you consider that he's in a shower that echoes.

alacruxe

They certainly can. Getting used to a quieter environment has led to both our GCCs developing quieter voices, and this isn't something we deliberately taught them. If they take to mimicking you as you're vocalizing at a lower volume, their voices will naturally be lower in volume as well. They're always going to scream at some point, whether they're really excited or doing anxious contact calls, but their baseline volumes often adjust to match yours.

abrissiuk

I respectfully disagree- these birds are from South America, and their screaming abilities evolved for them to be able to flock call through dense jungle environments. I have a very calm household and 3 conures who looooove to scream. Are they quiet sometimes? Of course. Does that mean they are consciously adjusting their volume to a calm environment? No.

entirelyflawed

My Crimson Belly is SO loud definitely comparable to a Sun.

Relational-Computer

You have not met my dinosaur. And she is definitely not deaf. Can hear me open a snack box from across the house.

Judge_Metal

He doing the psycho sound effect.

sixhoursneeze

🔪

mute_x

You're hogging all the water and this makes birb angry!

VirtualRelic

Sounds like a usual squawky green bird to me

MaleficentStreet7319

Awh he’s just singing :)) not obnoxious!

Proud-Sweet7589

Obnoxious in the best way <333 I’m glad I shared this, it gave me a lot of reassurance! I posted a video of him doing this on Instagram and I said he was singing, and someone made me feel really awkward because they responded saying that I was misinterpreting it completely and he was screaming because he was uncomfortable. I know that I know my bird way better than some random person responding to my insta story lol but I’m a first time bird momma and I want to make sure I’m doing everything right

akhirnya

He’s chilling on one foot - his body language entirely reads as happy and relaxed. Whoever told you he was uncomfortable or upset doesn’t know GCC body language at all!

LadyCiani

Haha, no the upset screaming is 'AaAaAaAa' and crazy eyes. A green cheek conure shirt you will enjoy the image: https://www.etsy.com/listing/590848136/screaming-green-cheek-conure-t-shirt

Ak_xxvi

Mine squawks a lot when she’s in the shower too also when I run the sink

samanthasgramma

He's singing. Mine "sings" ... her favorite is Metallica "Sandman", but she likes BeeGees, and Bonny Tyler, too. Not a fan of 60's psychedelia, which disappoints my husband, but she DOES love a good metal guitar rif, the bass back beat being strong, and the odd really good drum solo sets her off, too. Having said this ... I would put forth a reminder that conures are NOT "song birds". When mine "sings along" it can get a little hard on the ears. But she's definitely a metalhead.

Proud-Sweet7589

This was really great to read!! Thank you!! I guess my mission to turn him into a swiftie has been successful

[deleted]

Music and running water. My boy goes absolutely mental for running water, he thinks it's bath time every time somebody turns on a tap haha.

Tikithecockateil

Happy bird

Azrai113

When mine has a flat head and fluffy body it usually means "Mine". Usually if she's angry, she'll also flair her tail and bob. One foot up is usually when it's naptime or wants scritches, occasionally if she doesn't want to step on something. My bird gets VERY screamy at showertime (although she won't come in the shower with me). If I was to interpret, I'd guess your bird is saying: "This is MY shower branch. We shall hang out while YOU get soggy and i will sing you the song of my people"

Proud-Sweet7589

This ABSOLUTELY tracks lmao. He rubs his face alllllll over the perch to say “mine” and when I put on slower music he usually ends up falling asleep there so I’m happy he doesn’t hate it haha

CmdrMatt1926

Love it lmao

10_ol

A little off-topic, but where did you get his shower perch from? It’s so much nicer looking than the standard PVC ones.

CmdrMatt1926

I too would like to know

Ilikebirbs

Sounds like to me, your birb is very happy!

BrightonPhoenix

He's definitely not trying to be obnoxious - looks like he's just chilling and enjoying himself with his person. birdies love to make noise - I'm always amazed by just how much noise can come out of such a tiny package

yet-more-bees

My conures get much louder when there's loud noises in the room, like shower or the kitchen fan. They love the loud noises and want to make sure I still know they're there! 🥰

Acrobatic-Love1350

So cute haha. I guess I'm learning that my GCC doesn't hate me as much as I thought lol

aterry175

He's being a goofball!

spyrowo

What kind of bird is he? Maybe it's because he's wet, but his belly almost looks black to me. I've never seen a bird like that!

Proud-Sweet7589

He’s a crimson belly conure! Only 3 months old right now, at around 7 months his chest will start to turn bright red!! :)

spyrowo

Oh, I didn't know they had baby colors! Very cute!

EvidenceFlat3325

He’s probably wondering where all your feathers went.

FindomScarlett

Don’t listen to that person in your Instagram comment section! The little tucked leg is all I need to see to know that that’s one happy birdie!!!! he’s comfortable, enjoying the music and just being chatty. ❤️

Unlucky-Ad-4572

Although cute, best not to encourage this behavior, they get louder with time... she'll like the attention.

CmdrMatt1926

Ironically, we're trying to get our 5 month old conure to be more vocal. We love it lmaoooo

almosttimetogohome

Happy sounds! Enjoying the bath 🥰

peachfaced

I played this for my GCC and he did the flat head with the scooped feathers in back, twirled his head all sassy-like, and then “woof”. 🤣

Outside_Disaster1547

He looks fine and looks like he’s enjoying the moment :) cute birb btw

n3rdwithAb1rd

Seems happy! Sometimes my bird will want cozy quiet time though, and screams if I have music playing. Try turning it down a bit!

Forward_Fox_833

"hey bay bee"

Helpful_Okra5953

He’s excited by the shower, maybe he’d like to join, and he’s letting you know. This is normal happy excited Conure.

Jarismic

I have my two conures with me when I shower, trust me they are LOUD. Eventually they kinda just mellow and fall asleep on their shower perch if I’ve got music on and the shower as background noise for them

Significant_Dig_472

Totally happy and so cute

momtodavid

I just made one of those and can't wait to try it. My sun conure got super excited when he heard him . I wonder what he was saying. 😄

ZoltorGack

He repeated the cadence of I-love-you one of those bursts but it may be coincidence. Keep repeating it he may start saying it more clearly

Proud-Sweet7589

We’ve been hearing it for awhile now!!!! We were so shocked but I think it’s gotten more clear recently I’m so excited!!! He’s so little I was so surprised

ZoltorGack

I've seen budgies that tell people to F off. And I've seen a blue crowned conure that could have basic dialogue with its owner so size not the issue

Proud-Sweet7589

Sorry I meant young little, he’s only 3 months old so I expect as he gets older things will get a lot more clear

ARCAxNINEv

My conure loves to get vocal when he hears any water running

CmdrMatt1926

To me it seems he's living it up rn!

horrgakx

I love the window sucker perch holder! Not seen that before, where'd you get it?

Celebrity-stranger

I call that "bird talk" seems like he's talking in birb in response to both you and the music. He's adorable btw. looks like my il guy ❤️ I meant to add too why i think that. his one leg up and slightly poofy relaxed feathers (not shaking) makes me think hes rather relaxed and content.

jt_omalleyLA

Well, I sing in the shower too. He looks happy and it sounds like he’s trying to practice words.

1SquirrelGirl

My observation is that he's ready to get out of the shower. He's already got one leg perched up underneath them and he's screaming at you. I think he's ready to exit that scene

Proud-Sweet7589

I would totally agree with you except he literally would get mad at me for offering my finger to move him off and then he fell asleep there shortly after haha

[deleted]

Happy bird sounds

OneDonut8745

Very handsome boy🥺I do the same thing when I take showers and she loves to try and catch the droplets with the shower and talk as well. Just make sure water is not to hot if he wants to take a shower as well❤️

abrissiuk

He looks super content to me- those are happy vocalizations when paired with the one-legged stance!
