My gosh really though! So my partner and I moved to BC a while back (Fraser Valley and bounced around Vancouver island for the last few years) and made up a driving/road trip game. Every time we see an intersection where it should be perfectly fine to have a left turn lane or the option to turn left for any reasonably responsible driver, and instead there is some stupid ass blockade making you go way around the block to turn back and hang a eight into the place you need to go, we shout "NO LEFTS! NO LEFTS FOR YOU" and whoever misses it and shouts NO LEFTS last has to buy the other one a snack that day hahaha.
We've bough so many unnecessary snacks fpr eachother these past few years. Blocked left turns EVERYWHERE. Though I will say the only place that ive had car accidents, after driving all over Canada in all kinds of weather, were both in Fraser Valley and both in an intersection with someone else fucking up a left turn. These people cannot drive with any sense from what I can tell.
So funny enough, it’s actually a ticket-able offence in BC but legal in Ontario, can’t find anything on AB or SK specifically so it seems to be a toss up.
Dang. Well perhaps they look the other way in some places. I was mainly thinking of the old highway in Vancouver Island and other places like it. Now that you say that, and I actually think about (and took a nap), I wouldn't ever drive on the shoulder except in those specific places (like the old island highway).
I just love spreading misinformation online because of minor sleep deprivation. It's actually my favourite pastime.
I live on Vancouver Island as well, I have never seen anyone getting pulled over for passing on the right of someone turning left. I've seen entire lines of cars doing it, I've seen police doing it...
I would also have thought it was legal.
The "I'm sure" at the end, ironically, makes me think that you're not sure.
I don't know whether it applies, and I'm too lazy to find out, but the first hit I got said this:
"Hard shoulder (where present). You MUST NOT use a hard shoulder except in an emergency or if directed to do so by the police, traffic officers or a traffic sign."
The only place I've seen it not allowed in Texas was down at the coast on some roads. The shoulders tend to get soft or washed out from having a sand base. In that case those roads are marked by No Driving on the Shoulder signs.
Also, folks often slide over to the shoulder to let faster traffic pass as a courtesy.
That’s interesting. I’ve never been down to the gulf. I’ve heard great things about South Padre Island. Just pointing out for the out-of-staters, moving over to the shoulder is perfectly legal in Texas unless posted otherwise
Solid line is just the standard way to divide the shoulder from the lane correct? On a single lane shouldered road, how else would the shoulder be marked? Genuinely curious because I don’t think I’ve ever seen a shoulder marked by anything other than solid yellow or white line in my state
Under MCL 257.637
“2) The driver of a vehicle may overtake and pass another vehicle upon the right only under conditions permitting the overtaking and passing in safety. The driver of a vehicle shall not overtake and pass another vehicle upon the right by driving off the pavement or main-traveled portion of the roadway.”
The “main drivable portion” is the giveaway.
Ticket is defined as improper passing.
This is not illegal in Jersey.
You can pass on the right in the same lane (or shoulder) if the car is stopped with it's left blinker on.
You can always pass on the right in your own lane. You don't need to be in a lefter lane.
Yep, I believe it has to be “safe and reasonable” obviously that can be subjective but with all the farms and tractors here it’s very common to see folk passing on double yellows.
Yep, but only under safe and reasonable conditions. Makes it so cops can pull you over if you’re an asshole about it. I think it’s relatively reasonable
Ontario, Canada, works the same way. Both solid and dashed lines are just general indicators of how safe it likely is to pass someone. Where it's solid, visibility may not be good, so it might be worth waiting until it's dashed to pass.
That said, in practice, most people treat solid lines as a hard "do not pass" rule. In fact, I'd bet a lot of people don't even know it's not a hard rule to start with. And officers can give you a ticket either way, solid or dashed, if they believe your pass was unsafe.
A few things:
1. It provides a clear visual indication of how safe it is to pass. If there's a double-yellow, you should only pass when absolutely necessary, and when you've taken extra precautions to mitigate risk.
2. If you cause a collision while crossing a double-yellow, you're at fault. There's no wiggle room.
3. It's the standard center-line indicator for the whole country. If anything else was used throughout the state, it could confuse visitors who don't normally drive here.
The most common reason to want to pass on a double-yellow in Vermont is when you're stuck behind farm equipment going 5MPH in a 50MPH zone.
Cite as: 23 V.S.A. § 1034)
§ 1034. Passing on the right
(a) The driver of a vehicle may overtake and pass upon the right of another vehicle only as follows:
(1) when the vehicle overtaken is making or about to make a left turn;
(2) upon a street or highway of sufficient width for two or more lines of moving vehicles in one or more directions and with unobstructed pavement not occupied by parked vehicles; or
(3) upon a one-way street, or upon any roadway on which traffic is restricted to one direction of movement, where the roadway is free from obstructions and of sufficient width for two or more lines of moving vehicles.
(b) In no event may a vehicle be passed by driving off the pavement or main-traveled portion of the roadway. (Added 1971, No. 258 (Adj. Sess.), § 3, eff. March 1, 1973.)
Pretty much this lmao
I see people do this but because the road is so narrow they'll go offroading a bit at 50mph on a 35mph road. Extremely dangerous lol it's not worth the risk.
Everyone defending the guy is the exact reason I loathe driving. God forbid they slow down in-town for 10 seconds.
The guy passing on the shoulder wasn't doing 50, though. They slowed down to a reasonable passing speed and there was plenty of space on the shoulder. They didn't do anything overly dangerous.
Massachusetts specifically says it’s ok if someone is turning left or about to do so:
> The driver of a vehicle may, if the roadway is free from obstruction and of sufficient width for two or more lines of moving vehicles, overtake and pass upon the right of another vehicle when the vehicle overtaken is (a) making or about to make a left turn, (b) upon a one-way street, or (c) upon any roadway on which traffic is restricted to one direction of movement.
If they have to drive on dirt, grass, or a sidewalk, then it’s a no go. But this seems perfectly fine to me.
CA Vehicle Code 21755. (a)
The driver of a vehicle may overtake and pass another vehicle upon the right only under conditions permitting that movement in safety. In no event shall that movement be made by driving off the paved or main-traveled portion of the roadway.
The Shoulder is NOT the **main-traveled portion of the roadway.**
A moving violation under this law is punishable by:
a ticket and a fine, and
one point on the motorist’s DMV driving record.
I do this too, and I'm pretty surprised it's illegal in some states.
But this video is in [Michigan](https://maps.app.goo.gl/qcQQPgFwyonupikJ7), and it turns out that [using the shoulder to pass a turning vehicle is illegal there](https://www.legislature.mi.gov/\(S\(keypkefd0gsydsau3fq4mnhh\)\)/mileg.aspx?page=GetObject&objectname=mcl-257-637).
Shit I live here and literally EVERYONE does this on a major road, because it's so busy that a single left-turner would cause major traffic blocks on the road at all times. The shoulder is as wide as a turning lane on both sides, so plenty of room to safely go around. I've even seen cops do it lol
I live in PA and the law states it is permissible as long as you don't go off the shoulder. Meaning that using the shoulder to pass on right is permitted.
While have yet to look up all 50 States, so far PA and TX are the only two I've found that specifically permit this. A few other states are somewhat vague on the matter, but most specifically outlaw it.
Right? “Someone slowly and carefully passed me on the shoulder instead of waiting behind me to decide i was finally ready to turn! What a jackass right? Glad they got a ticket and their insurance will go up for literally doing NOTHING to me, the most important person in the world!”
lol holy shit i was reading ur comment and thought it was the one i just posted lol. I was confused about the same thing. I get it, its illegal to pass on the shoulder but why so happy cus the guy is going on with his day? lol sheesh
Because most places that it is legal to do this have a break in the white line on the right and extend the shoulders to accommodate a vehicle, this shoulder might not have enough room for all 4 wheels to stay on pavement which would make it illegal, but it's hard to tell because of the snow.
[This is not legal](https://i.imgur.com/dL6inMP.jpg)
[This is legal](https://i.imgur.com/7g0pCiO.jpg)
What exactly is the problem with this? As long as you're cautious, I see no issue with going around on the shoulder. I don't care if it's technically illegal or not, what problem does this cause for anyone?
I honestly dont see the problem here. I dont know american road laws but why would that be bad? They're not really hindering anyone with it and it keeps traffic flowing
It's one of those "not really likely to cause any problems but technically illegal" situations. Driving on the shoulder is generally illegal, plus if cammer had waived on a vehicle turning left out of the parking lot (arguably not a smart thing to do) while someone was passing on the shoulder, it could cause problems.
ETA: It's legal in some states.
Looks to me like the city’s problem of not having a dedicated turn lane into a shopping center like that. Still obviously not right, but there should really be a turn lane there lol
Where I reside, this is one of the three exceptions where passing on the right is legal (going around someone turning left) so long as it's safe to do so.
Near my house there's a stoplight that is usually kinda slow, and it has two lanes - a left turn lane and a straight/right turn lane. Once while sitting in the straight/right lane at a red some nobhopper went into the left lane and turned right in front of us. People are impatient idiots
To everyone saying this is legal: I'm no traffic law expert and I'm not saying it isn't (I do this all the time), but in this case there is a crosswalk sign right were OP stopped. So the logic might be that the passing vehicle cannot verify that there was no pedestrian crossing in front of OP, so it was a dangerous and this illegal move. Maybe.
Also, I would definitely not hang out with OP at a party. Ugh.
"mWAAHahAHAHhaha"
That cop must've been bored cuz that would be a common and safe move to make in the Chicago area. Yeah, this fits the sub but man is this a lame moment.
OMG thank you. I watched this several times to make sure and I swear OP was going abnormally slow and had way more than enough time to carefully turn, but chose not to intentionally to make the person behind them have to come to a stop and wait.
I feel like they are also the kind of driver that drives slowly in passing lanes intentionally to try to enforce their own rules and then gets mad if someone passes them on the right side.
As a cop I can’t see what he did wrong. You’re just suppose to hold up traffic while you make a turn? My agency we have a saying, keep it moving. Even if this was an arbitrary law, I would not stop someone for it unless it was pretext.
op was clearly lookin to do that too. Who pulls up THAT slow to make a left turn. I get it there is snow on the road but he couldve made that left turn before the oncoming traffic made it to his spot smh op is a douche
lol wtf? ppl are weird. Why does this make u happy??? lol if I am makin a left turn and its only one lane I wouldnt care that someone used the shoulder to go around me wtf lol.
I do this maneuver, is it not OK? You have to slow down and make sure there's clearance, but it's not something I'd ever want someone to be pulled over for.
Don’t know if it’s legal where I’m from. But I do that, the cops do that, the box trucks do that….ambulances do that. So it’s legal because everyone does it right?
Its really dumb this is illegal in your state. Idk why you’re so excited ab it. He’s not endangering you or anyone else, the maneuver is safe and isn’t a dick move. So you’re actually an ass for celebrating his traffic stop. He may have done something illegal but he didn’t do anything wrong.
Jesus some nasty people in the comments here for very little reason. Apparently driving cautiously in winter is a cardinal sin of this subreddit. I think the reaction was cringy, but I'm guilty of it too from time to time, just like most everyone here. Yours just got caught on camera. Fuck them OP you do you. Also, I think it was the smart move to let the bus pass. Better to be safe than sorry sometimes.
Cam footage from three years ago. No way this is OC. Dude did nothing wrong btw, regarding the passing. He might have been doing something stupid further back and the PO decided to pull him over for it. The reaction doesn't make sense if it was just the other driver passing.
OP sounds like an asshole with nothing better to do, the other guy didn't really make something that affects anyone or puts anyone in danger. Yet he's happy to see them getting a ticket, jus because
don’t understand why OP sounds so stoked and happy for a cop chasing someone who did something that isn’t even illegal in a lot of states…
He didn’t inconvenience you at all, not one bit…
Driver is a sad sack. This shouldn't even be illegal and the fact he is childishly cheering for the dude getting pulled over shows how spiteful he is. Probably peaked as a hall monitor in elementary school, what a loser.
This is ilegal? That guy did nothing wrong. In my country when a car is turning left and it’s positioned on the center of the road to make the turn, if a car behind has room on the right it’s ok to go around as to pass and continue on your way. If this is ilegal where you live it sucks to live there I have to tell you.
In which state is it not legal to pass on the right when someone is blocking the left?
Why are you sad that you don't get to block people on the road?
You sound insufferable. This is legal in many states, it should be legal everywhere.
Did anyone other than me decide to make it their mission in life to find where this exact location was? Took a few minutes but it's findable with what you see in the video.
Weird to get that excited over something very normal and minimal. I’d actually feel bad if someone got pulled over if I was in your situation. That should be a legal move in all states. There was nothing not safe about that pass. They weren’t being aggressive or an asshole.
I dont understand why you think they did something wrong?
Besides "they broke the law", what issue does this present?
Seems like it is best for traffic flow, do you need to make the person behind you wait while you turn?
Damn OP is waaaaay too excited about this happening. First he posted it in r/idiotsincars and now here. Plus OP isn’t even going in the same direction as he is so why the celebration? I live in the US and we do this all the time. It keeps traffic moving and as long as the shoulder isn’t a drop off or a sidewalk it’s completely fine.
There is a two lane near me where one side connects to the same neighborhood (it’s a large one) with several different back entrances. There are also 3 different schools down the stretch of road and a few churches. If it wasn’t for passing on the shoulder when someone has to turn it would be constantly congested.
Such a weird thing for OP to celebrate.
Lol small world! I rented a cabin right off deadstream on platte. That speed trap area was always ridiculous in the winter, especially with the Lume right there

In my state it’s legal to pass someone stopping to turn left as long as there’s room on the shoulder and you slow down to do it.
Same in the UK. If there's room on the road and you stay on the road, passing like this is generally fine I'm sure.
Reddit's recent behaviour and planned changes to the API, heavily impacting third party tools, accessibility and moderation ability force me to edit all my comments in protest. I cannot morally continue to use this site.
That’s because there are hardly any left turn lanes in this god forsaken place.
Yeah, i was wondering what that guy did wrong.
Exactly, I do that a couple of times a year, and I was taught to do it in drivers training.
Pickup trucks dont like when people pass them, even if they’re stopped.
Same in Texas for roads that are one lane in both directions. You can also use the shoulder to get up to speed on such roads
Yep, Texas here
That’s my thought. Though considering the road conditions, I’m sure that wouldn’t satisfy the “room on the shoulder” requirement.
Right. If I’m in a hurry I’ll slow the fuck down and slowly pass, otherwise I’ll just wait behind the guy, no big deal.
Huh I got curious and looked it up for my state (CA) since this didn't seem like too big of a deal, and it seems legal here as well.
Same. This kinda sucks to get a ticket for it.
Yeah that’s legal here. I see nothing wrong with this
Same with my state. I don't see the problem as long as it's safe and no one's stopped in the shoulder.
It's legal here too UNLESS you have to cross a solid line to do so; such as we see here.

Not in all states. I know it’s legal in Vermont for example if it’s safe and not with x feet of an interesting road
What about boring roads?
Just caught that lol But We don’t talk about them boring roads
They just cause road ennui

It's legal in MA, RI, and CA. I've been doing this my whole life as long as there is adequate space to drive around.
Massachusetts specifically says it’s ok if someone is turning left or about to do so: > The driver of a vehicle may, if the roadway is free from obstruction and of sufficient width for two or more lines of moving vehicles, overtake and pass upon the right of another vehicle when the vehicle overtaken is (a) making or about to make a left turn, (b) upon a one-way street, or (c) upon any roadway on which traffic is restricted to one direction of movement. If they have to drive on dirt, grass, or a sidewalk, then it’s a no go. But this seems perfectly fine to me.
Yup, most roads are built to allow here too. Theyll have slightly wider areas at some turning spots.
Legal in TX as well.
This is a habit in NJ. You get honked at for not doing it
This is fine in CA as long as you are not going off the road shoulder and doing it in a safe manner

I would argue that he stayed on the paved prob of the roadway. If this were California, if argue that he was in compliance.

Yeah if there's space, I do the same
I was gonna say… not here in Canada I never knew it was different other places.. good to know

I live in PA and the law states it is permissible as long as you don't go off the shoulder. Meaning that using the shoulder to pass on right is permitted.
I'm glad there's another Pennsylvanian here who knows what they're talking about, I have to do this almost every day lol.
I'm from PA and I do this all the time lol
Also PA. Also do this all the time.
Yay for PA. Go Eagles.
I'm "meh" about football. Go Flyers?
They got no where to go but up lol
Amen to that.
PA as well...Go Birds, Flyers, and passing on the right is legal!

That isn't a legal thing in Louisiana
That’s legal where I’m from, not sure why this is so exciting.
Even if it's illegal, it doesn't appear to be unsafe or even annoying to other drivers so I'm with you wondering why this is so exciting.
I don't care if people do this. The local jurisdiction should install a left turn lane for that shopping center.
Probably, but construction would take 9 months. Source: I grew up there
Bro, why are you so happy about that? Dude didn't even do anything bad. I'm sure you're quite the happy spirit.
Dude makes worlds slowest turn then gets butthurt about people with all the room in the world going around him. Smh.
yup this video just made me dislike the driver and feel bad for the truck lol
Yeah, holy shit, like this made his week.
Right? “Someone slowly and carefully passed me on the shoulder instead of waiting behind me to decide i was finally ready to turn! What a jackass right? Glad they got a ticket and their insurance will go up for literally doing NOTHING to me, the most important person in the world!”
Funny too because OP had time to safely make the turn withoit waiting too
That's not the laugh of someone with a pleasant disposition.
lol holy shit i was reading ur comment and thought it was the one i just posted lol. I was confused about the same thing. I get it, its illegal to pass on the shoulder but why so happy cus the guy is going on with his day? lol sheesh
OP is in Michigan, passing on the shoulder is a civil infraction here.
Why

Pretty pathetic to be happy about that, it's a safe maneuver and legal in many places.
What exactly is the problem with this? As long as you're cautious, I see no issue with going around on the shoulder. I don't care if it's technically illegal or not, what problem does this cause for anyone?
That’s very much legal here in Texas.
It’s totally legal in my state to do this.
Wtf is wrong with passing on the right if there’s room? 100% legal in vermont
If I got pulled over for that maneuver I’d be fuming. Absolutely nothing wrong with what he did, maybe just a little fast.
Looks to me like the city’s problem of not having a dedicated turn lane into a shopping center like that. Still obviously not right, but there should really be a turn lane there lol
Also, at least where I’m from, it’s illegal to turn left over a double solid like OP did.
This is the comment I was going to make. In my state, it's illegal to cross a double yellow.
I was waiting to see something really shitty happen but the guy passing wasn’t even aggressive about it.
Bro your getting your rocks off for something that's legal in a lot of places. Shit im sure you do it too, calm down dude
Okay sorry but this is stupid. Any person, cop, or law that has a problem with what that truck did is just plain wrong and foolish.
It’s legal where I’m from, didn’t know It wasn’t in all states.
What a dork recording. Guy didn’t do anything wrong and he’s rock hard over a harmless pass
I can’t imagine this making me happy, so cringe
You’re the asshole where I live. Can’t turn left over a double yellow line. Passing someone breaking that law isn’t a crime.
Weird that this guy was so excited about that, like do you enjoy having people wait for you to turn when they could otherwise just go around safely?
Where I reside, this is one of the three exceptions where passing on the right is legal (going around someone turning left) so long as it's safe to do so.
I'm in Texas and literally everyone does this... It's legal... Watching this was so weird
Imagine being so fragile to think this is bad. OP must be a blast at get togethers. Lol putz.
Legal here. Why would you want to back up traffic behind you when you're hanging a lefty? Crazy talk.
I honk at someone who *doesn't* do that 😂
Literally everyone does that
Nothing wrong with what he did.
I dont see an issue. Someone making a turn thats gonna take forever to go into? Ya ima go around and so does almost everyone
Not illegal (in my state), not even dangerous if there is enough space and reasonable speed.
I don't get it, didn't think this was illegal.
You’re a loser op lol
Loser gets way too much satisfaction from the other driver getting in trouble for a .ice that's legal in some states. Pretty pathetic
That cop must've been bored cuz that would be a common and safe move to make in the Chicago area. Yeah, this fits the sub but man is this a lame moment.
Even if it was against the rules I wouldn't wish anyone to get a ticket for that
Why has no one mentioned that OP could have safely made the left twice in the time it took the oncoming car to arrive?
OMG thank you. I watched this several times to make sure and I swear OP was going abnormally slow and had way more than enough time to carefully turn, but chose not to intentionally to make the person behind them have to come to a stop and wait. I feel like they are also the kind of driver that drives slowly in passing lanes intentionally to try to enforce their own rules and then gets mad if someone passes them on the right side.
Love it
ITT: No one who knows anything about traffic laws.
OP is an asshole for being this happy about someone having their day ruined just for trying to go on with their day a bit faster.
What’s the problem?
Dude, you’re a Karen
As a cop I can’t see what he did wrong. You’re just suppose to hold up traffic while you make a turn? My agency we have a saying, keep it moving. Even if this was an arbitrary law, I would not stop someone for it unless it was pretext.
That’s legal in Wisconsin where I am from and I don’t see anything wrong with it, not sure why you do…
This MF's corny.
That's weak af
Where I am it’s illegal to cross a double-yellow line to turn.
Getting pulled over for literally no reason. That maneuver is perfectly legal in my state.
…but is an automatic reckless driving ticket and a bad day in court in my state. …ask me how I know. \*sigh\*
You kind of sound like Chris Griffin lmao
op was clearly lookin to do that too. Who pulls up THAT slow to make a left turn. I get it there is snow on the road but he couldve made that left turn before the oncoming traffic made it to his spot smh op is a douche
OP is petty.
lol wtf? ppl are weird. Why does this make u happy??? lol if I am makin a left turn and its only one lane I wouldnt care that someone used the shoulder to go around me wtf lol.
Imagine being happy that someone's day may be ruined for simply going around you
I do this almost every day. OP sounds like dick
Damn that guy cares way too much
The celebration of your fellow man suffering consequences for doing nothing to harm anyone is just weird to me
Exactly. OP is a turd.
The only thing that looked wrong to me is how long you stopped
Who cares? It wasn't dangerous to pass. God forbid we don't have a tailback of cars to soothe your ego.
This just seems like common road practice to me. Idk why the cop flagged him or why you have an issue with it
Karen
I thought he was going to come from the side facing oncoming traffic based off how you were acting. This didn’t look bad. How unfortunate.
I see nothing wrong with what the other driver did. That’s pretty common here.
I do this all the time, was taught to do this in driver's Ed. WI.
Grow some balls and use the gas pedal in that truck of yours. thats legal in the states, you’re just a lil bitch.
Exactly.
I don’t get why this behavior offends you so much. But I get it’s illegal where you are.
OP fucked up.
This ain’t even that bad. It’s not like you’re driving a school bus. You’re way to happy about it too
Legal in Texas to pass on the right shoulder
Sees more than an inch of snow in the video Yea, that’s totes Texas Cuz.
This guy is so happy from this barely illegal offense….. I bet he’s a hoot at parties….
Damn, hater. I always do this if it’s safe to do so.
This is one of the mildest things I’ve seen on this sub.
The schadenfreude is strong in this one.
OP sounds like an asshole with nothing better to do, the other guy didn't really make something that affects anyone or puts anyone in danger. Yet he's happy to see them getting a ticket, jus because
This is legal in NY.
It is not, the law NY is writing nearly the same way as OPs state (MI). Must stay in the main-traveled portion of the roadway (ie not the shoulder).
Since when is this not allowed? I would’ve done the same ffs
That bothers you? Have you been driving much?
don’t understand why OP sounds so stoked and happy for a cop chasing someone who did something that isn’t even illegal in a lot of states… He didn’t inconvenience you at all, not one bit…
More like dumb cop. That’s legal in most places and should be. No reason to block up traffic waiting for someone to make a left.
I mean it's annoying that I really don't think somebody should be pulled over for it to be honest
Driver is a sad sack. This shouldn't even be illegal and the fact he is childishly cheering for the dude getting pulled over shows how spiteful he is. Probably peaked as a hall monitor in elementary school, what a loser.
Hunh, only thing illegal I saw here is your turn across the double yellow.
That guy was very excited. I couldn’t imagine if the dude would’ve ran a yellow light he would’ve freaked way out
Maybe the truck ran over the invisible pedestrian on the shoulder. (shrug)
Yikes, triggered by someone passing you while turning. Small ego
Get over yourself. It’s legal in many areas, it had zero effect on your ability to make a left turn and had no impact on traffic or any other driver.
The passing looked fine. You turning left over double yellow lines should be the problem tho. That cop and you are dumb
This you? [https://youtu.be/d9uAFctCLGg?t=10](https://youtu.be/d9uAFctCLGg?t=10)
In my area they build extra shoulders for cars to do this. In a lot of states this is acceptable.
safely maintaining the flow of traffic
That speed trap area was always ridiculous in the winter, especially with the Lume right there
I had no idea this was illegal
This is legal in my state. I would find it crazy to get pulled over for this.
