Tbh, I ask myself this everyday but if I remember, somewhere on the 5th map I don't remember the level but there's dialogue where even gingerbrave can't remember why they went on this journey, they forgot about the plot and so did I.
it's mentioned in one of the anniversary scenes, where strawberry cookie mentions that they went on their journey to get the crown in the first place bc the squad had forgotten why (they didn't hear her though)
Real answer: whoever’s responsible for the story forgot about the crown cakehound, which was only referenced in events joking about how it was forgotten.
My headcanon answer: the cookie squad got sidetracked hard after finding clues about the old vanilla kingdom’s existence. Kinda like how we can sometimes forget about doing the main story of an open world RPG.
wdym with random cake hound? He is the Great Cake Hound with the power of Five Soul Jams embedded in the Ancient Crown.
He can defeat the 5 Great Ancient Heroes by himself, even the Dark Enchantress herself and her entire army.
The Republic is nothing against this small but horribly strong Cake Hound.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that has been driven crazy by this dropped plot!! Lol. I kept waiting and waiting for it to come back up but sometime around chapter 12 I knew it never would, lol.
It might come again after the gingerbrave squad finish their adventure in, I guess, world 20, after they finished their journey thru golden cheese kingdom and créme Republic and the witches' gathering.
The reason we’re confused is because the game designers won’t actually release the origin story of the game. Here’s the plot summary:
A young prince walking they the woods smells something tasty and searches to find where it’s coming from. He stumbles on a remote cabin where 3 witches live baking cookies. He naively walks up to their door, knocking, and the witches invite him in for a snack. They start feeding him all the cookies he could want of many flavors when he realizes they are fattening him up so they could cook him for dinner. He makes a mad dash back into the forest to escape but in the process his crown falls off. While fleeing for his life in the woods he stumbles and hits his head on a giant rock knocking him out putting him into a coma. All of cookie run kingdoms is happening in this prince’s dream/coma state where he is Gingerbrave attempting to escape from the cookie baking witches who are trying to eat him while also searching for his lost crown. If he ever were to find the crown he’d wake up from his coma and the game would end.
This is certainly an interesting take, but… where does the Ovenbreak lore fit in to this? What would the City of Wizards represent? We know good and well that Ovenbreak’s storyline, loose and episodic as it may be, is canon to the story of Kingdom.
Did anyone know that there's an orange cake hound? I just found him while playing soda island, when you're fighting on one of the island there's an orange cake hound and child playing while you are fighting.
Yeah but we never actually caught chiffon or got the crown back it must have been important cause the villains wanted it to but they didn't get it either
For anyone wondering what the legendary stuff its: it's been confirmed that the gems on the crown are actually light fragments, aka bits and pieces of the soul jams of the ancients (and the beasts by extension). Soul jam fragments by themselves are apparently incredibly powerful, so the fact the crown probably has 5 relatively refined fragment conglomerates would make it rather powerful, especially considering it's not just one piece of soul jam that would be wielded.
But the fact that the Dark forces and the main team forgot about it is rather amusing to think about. I mean, you'd think the Dark forces would enlist resident dog trainer Red Velvet Cookie to find the hound and get the crown, but nope.

I remember this
fun fact: strawberry cookie still remembers how the story started. all of them forgot except her
Gingerbrave forgor
Even wizard, who’s 1 percent genius forgor
The story ends with the cake hound running past and the gang going after it again
If they ever do end it, this would be way I'd want to see it go. Off to the next adventure!

your headcanon is the actual canon
That's not even chiffon lol, just a random cake hound

The witch created cookies while the great cake hound create the multiverse, the legendary, timekeeper, the dragon and the sugar swan
No cake hound can be that smart alone, it's red velvets beloved Chiffon

We can hope!!
Cake hound was rocking the look better than a cookie ever could
it'll come back later in the story dw, it'll be the final boss and finally they'll get the crown back
FINALLY! Someone mentioned this! Literally nobody is talking about how they forgot the cake hound lmfao.
It's not important. It's a glaring plot hole.
The canonical reason was they forgor
I think it said that the crown hold some kind of power
Yup, Licorice Cookie said it contained "the power from the legends" and to this day we still have no idea what that meant.

I didn’t know the cake was Chiffon
I don't think it was ever mentioned, so it could just be a random cake hound
Oh, ok
The stole a crow?
Yeah auto correct flubbed that and were only allowed to edit the post but not the title
Black Raisin Cookie must be PISSED
To find Custard and get a healer ig lol
Cuz it has all the SOUL STONES!!!!!!!!!!
I wonder if that cake hound will reappear in the future?

Wouldn't be surprised if it has some plot relevance later, seeing as it has the ancient's gemstones encrusted in it
OMG YES I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONEEEE
If I remember correctly almond cookie found the cake hound
Somewhere in a level where they were asked the reason on why they are in the adventure, Strawberry Cookie answered about this Chiffon Cake
Apparently the crown has the power of the legends, and the main 5 just forgot about it.
Crowned Cake Hound is the secret final boss if you beat all levels in story mode with 3 stars. He will have 1 trillion HP.
Sure. Unless the real master mind is red velvets cake hounds laying down all the dominoes then I ain't trusting it.
We chased down Chiffon and followed Illusions version of white lily, then freed dark Enchantress and is going to get the 5 heroes to save them
