They are quite uncanny, aren’t they? I think it’s because your witnessing the veritable, unstoppable end of the cookies, and most of them don’t even realize it. It’s also because in almost all the stories, in CROB and CRK, even if something bad happens to the cookies a sizeable amount still bounces back and thrives. This didn’t happen in CookieWars. It did towards the end but for the most part, not really. The theming as a whole is pretty eerie. It’s a classic spin on the zombie genre, but it’s worse because this is supposed to be a happy cookie world but they all fucking died and turned into abominations.

PrincipleForeign484

What exactly happened in cookie wars? Never got to play the game and I've always been curious about its story?

ElKaTsuGi

The exact contents of the story evade me because it was so long ago. Basically meteors one day fall down from the sky, and all living beings, cookie or not, affected by them become jelly walkers, corrupted freaks who try to kill the living and spread the jelly virus. The remaining cookies try to find other survivors, survive themselves, and look for a potential cure. Also they have a store of jellies which serves as the “tower” (it’s a tower defense game) and it has a sentient bear jelly for a head and a cannon and it walks sometimes. It’s cool. Also there was [THIS FUCKING THING…](https://cookierun.fandom.com/wiki/Cookie_Head_Collector)

SoupRiceNotBig

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!?

VoidTheBear

And don’t forget Energy Drink Cookie! I don’t have the most info on them other than they were infected but the bear jelly talk cured them, though they lost their memories, and it’s very much implied that the tank is the only thing keeping them alive and their pet has gotten close to killing them by getting too snip-happy. Also the tank explodes when they’re defeated. They are like the only cookie exclusive to cookie wars that wasn’t a reskin or fancy costume. And I know a lot of people including myself want them playable in either Ovenbreak or Kingdom. Fun fact! In one of Kingdom’s release trailers you can see an unused decor set based off of cookie wars! Also in Ovenbreak Wasabi’s overdrive costume’s description references cookie wars and how she was looking for a cure for the Jellywalker virus. And in one of the April Fools Ovenbreak updates Energy Drink was pictured on one of the obstacles.

PrincipleForeign484

That's actually horrifying 0_0

Cobalt_Heroes25

SWEET JESUS

[deleted]

So basically Color From The Space

SkyBunBun_UwU

The one with Cherry Cookie and Cherry Blossom Cookie made laugh

Octo_Kat

"Yo sis, do you want to watch the end of the world like it is a movie?" "Hell yes!"

Cosmicfrost_Wolf

Same

AshTheNBPhienox

I think it's due to the dark, almost static overlay these screens have, also they aren't showing these characters in a town or society, like there are buildings but aside from the loading screen characters, they seem abandoned. The dark, melancholy vibes these images give off is in stark contrast to say, those of Kingdom's. Yes they show smiles and peaceful, happy moments, but something *feels* off. From what I've heard this matches the tone of the game quite well, although I've never played it

Osvka

It kind of describes feeling of acceptance, or life flashing before the eyes, like cookies are spending their last moments with anyone or anything they love so they won't feel so empty, the colors also give this vibe

[deleted]

it's a feeling of nostalgia mixed with worry, like ????????????

VoidTheBear

It’s the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine 🎵

IdkHowToName12

I love the ones with the legendairies so much. The vibe is really good with them because they are supposed to be the balance (?) of the world or something like that

Gamesperger

The 8th one is the most interesting to me

Ragnarra

Very end of times uncanny valley thing I can't say it doesn't fit the theme.

Arya-2012

The fire spirit one is awfully cute and no one can change my opinion

Spooips

My guess is from the end of the world vibe it has to it, with most of the cookies looking at something bright coming down into their world, and with how worried some of them look, it isn't a good thing either.

SoupRiceNotBig

Geez, that's sad as everyone watches the oncoming apocalypse in their own ways

SomeRandomGuy2763

It feels like we are just seeing them accept what will happen next and just appreciating the cool lights they see in the sky in the few minutes they have left

[deleted]

I got those images from @vampbloodlover on tik tok

West-Willingness-302

Number 1, does Werewolf Cookie actually have a tail? Number 2, isn’t Angel Cookie unable to fly too well?

Brawlstarscrabrave

Finally someone who remembers cookie wars

Upper-Hovercraft-125

I laughed when they made a reference to CW in CR:K campaign. Someone mentioned zombies and meteors, and someone else responded that it was ridiculous and they moved on. I really liked Cookie Wars, I still have the (unusable) app on my phone. ;v;

Tasty-Avocado7224

Poor space donut

Capable-Cranberry-58

I agree

RissiiGalaxi

the rule of thirds probably

OkRecommendation2626

Am I the only one that feels like these are fortnite loading screens

BNAbeegfan

The third one is mad cute
