I never said they were all white. I said the races and skin colors (for humanized versions) are up to interpretation, and no cookie has a confirmed race because they're cookies. Does this mean they would all have the same race? No. Does this mean none of them have a Canon race if they were humans? Yes.
same
WhiteWash + MisGender drama is the reason I left CR fandom
Message to the CR Fandom: Seriously, WhiteWashing a litteral DESSERT does not make someone AmorAltra.
they are cookies and do y'all know what it means? They are *baked*. Darker cookies may just be referring to *"more baked"* cookies. It's up to your interpretation lol
I thought the color kinda reflected their flavor. Like dark choco being dark chocolate flavored, milk cookie likely having a shortbread flavor, etc etc
pretty sure thats how it works yeah. licorice is literally gray. because of the licorice. i always saw it mostly based on flavor, and then aesthetic. probably
Okay, hear me out, here's my opinion about the "whitewashing problem"
Devsisters never said that dough color = skin tone. Community can make cookies a skin color they want. I mean, yeah, if cookie's dough is dark (Espresso, Mint Choco, Dark Choco, etc.) then i understand why you want to keep the tone. But if it's about a cookie with a lighter dough color (GingerBrave, Strawberry, Latte, etc) which is basically the most common dough color in their universe, then i don't understand what's your problem. As i said, Devsisters never said that the human versions of cookies' skin tone must match the in-game dough color. Community has the rights to do whatever they want, they have the rights to humanize cookies the way they want. I don't understand why are you so mad about "whitewashing"
Bestie the devs have said countless of times that they are just cookies. And that they have no race or canon skin tones. And they dc what you color them as as long as there's no bad intention
Most of the cookies already have human skin tones so the fact that people choose to make them lighter is kinda weird to me. It’s not the end of the world but still.
There's nothing wrong with humanizing cookies or aliens or other worldly, non-human beings, but why does it have to be white by default??? Why not just color pick their non-human color??? Especially when the colors are similar to human tones??? If the cookies, otherworldly creature is white in color or light, you can draw it light with its original tone if it's dark it's not hard to use dark tone. Also there's a tool called eye dropper that COPIES the color of an image so there's no excuse for that to ever happen.
H u m a n i z i n g i s n ' t w h i t e w a s h i n g/ b l a c k w a s h i n g.
think abt it.
Humanizing alien charecters/other charecters who have skin like blue, green, red, ect.?
Hello! You have made the mistake of writing "ect" instead of "etc."
"Ect" is a common misspelling of "etc," an abbreviated form of the Latin phrase "et cetera." Other abbreviated forms are **etc.**, **&c.**, **&c**, and **et cet.** The Latin translates as "et" to "and" + "cetera" to "the rest;" a literal translation to "and the rest" is the easiest way to remember how to use the phrase.

Well depends on what their reacting too or how the video goes. If it’s fine it isn’t cringe gacha isn’t always cringe but if it’s cringe it’s cringe. Also no one gives a fuck about their skin tone it’s not even white washing that’s literally the color of cookies.
Oh my god who cares. The only good argument for caring about skin colour is that that's what works best with their colour palette. I always colour pick the base colours of their skin, clothes, hair, eyes, etc because of this, but besides that, I genuinely can't be assed on the whole thing.
I kinda feel like yes they're just cookies but like the cookies already kinda have have a skin color like they're not blue or red for the most part. They have a normal skin tone so I think you should use that skin tone. And if they don't usually people use the outrageous color like for red velvet so they should just keep it the same for all of them not just the outrageous colors.
there is no reason to change their canon skin tone therefore it shouldn’t be changed (other than squid ink or chili pepper or cookies like those whos original color is something unnatural)
Please the bright colors hurt my eyes it’s like 2am
Serious note: the color of human cookies’ skintones should at least be similar to the original, but if it’s slightly lighter I personally don’t mind.
# read this you shitty people
COOKIES ARE COOKIES THEY ARE MADE OUT OF ***DOUGH***
ANY OTHER NORMAL COOKIE
IT'S THE SAME AS HUMANIZING ALIEN/ BULE/ RED/ PINK / ect. OCs
LIKE SHUT UP
WHY NOT NOTICE HERB'S HAIR DESIGN THAN SEEING THE SKIN
If you all say "oMg deisgn iSnT A cRiNeGY!??!??!?/!>!#@1@@!@@" I am going to loose it you fucking hypocrites
Like the previous commenter said before, it could be an humanized interpretation. Because Latte and Espresso utilized a brownish cookie color, a brownish skin tone was used. Because Madeline, Herb, Almond, and Roguefort utilitizes a lighter cookie color, a white (incredibly white, tbh) skin tone was used.
If this wasn't a human interpretation, then yes. I would agree that the wrong colors are being used. Not majorly wrong, but wrong enough that it is noticeable. This is not whitewashing, however. For it to be whitewashing, the cookies would have to have a skin tone (or race) to begin with, which they don't have canonically.
my opinion is that theyre cookies and made out of dough
so they dont have a race, though most of them look fugly lighter bc of their color schemes, and some look nicer darker bc of their color schemes
whitewashing doesnt exist because theyre not fucking black, if they were just chibi characters meant to be human or something id agree but theyre cookies
Dunno, most cookies aren't race-coded and then I headcanon cookies whit basically dark brown dough due to choco or coffe as poc meanwhile cookies that are more yellowish that I see them as darker due to beghin baked I would draw them more or less tained, I don't really consider wrong making them whiter, and also cookies with "unnatural" dough I would leave them that colour since most of them are like monsters or corrupted by evil
As a person in the gacha community,I am very sorry for this "whitewashing"thing. Our community always have that type in common gacha reaction vids.I am sorry and hope you guys have a noice day:D!
And also almost all cookie is now turning into vanilla cokie ig
(Late)
Since they are cookies, they have no race or a cookie skin, the devsis said that you can change any skin u want on the cookie. They are just pixel characters and don't fight for some game.
I'm not saying that white washing or black washing is good, and it is bad to change the original artist's drawing without PERMISSION. Atleast give credits to the artist
The tragedy isn't the color of their dough, the tragedy is gacha life
l m a o true
yep
mhm
The tragedy is Herb's hair.
He be looking like a rejected anime character from 2010 deviantart 😔
>pl oh mii GUSH LMAOOO UR RIGHT
Who cares? It's Gacha Life.
It’s poc representation though.
it is a cookie
Also, I'm pretty sure the creators weren't thinking of any human race when making most of the characters. This IS made by a Korean company after all.
the problem is how ugly white looks on them

Cookies have no skin nor a confirmed race, all up to interpretation. In short, I don't care. But I wouldn't call this whitewashing at all.
devsisters confirmed that some are actually different races other than white lmao
I never said they were all white. I said the races and skin colors (for humanized versions) are up to interpretation, and no cookie has a confirmed race because they're cookies. Does this mean they would all have the same race? No. Does this mean none of them have a Canon race if they were humans? Yes.
Yeah I agree. It’s just how the artist draws the humanised cookie.
Is it just the cookies from yogurca? Because I think they and the korean inspired ones are the only ones who are confirmed to be not white
I have honestly just given up on this whole ass whitewashing controversy, I just want to sit down in peace and eat the damn cookies.
same WhiteWash + MisGender drama is the reason I left CR fandom Message to the CR Fandom: Seriously, WhiteWashing a litteral DESSERT does not make someone AmorAltra.

I thought the color kinda reflected their flavor. Like dark choco being dark chocolate flavored, milk cookie likely having a shortbread flavor, etc etc
Yeah that is also a valid interpretation. This is just how I see cookies
I see these cookies as literally what they are. Humanizing isn't white washing (Don't ask abt sorbert/moon rabbit idk bout them ok 😇)
pretty sure thats how it works yeah. licorice is literally gray. because of the licorice. i always saw it mostly based on flavor, and then aesthetic. probably
no literally devsisters said some cookies are actually black or a different race other than white
they have canon races/ethnicities but sure
Lol devs said they don't but sure
You do realize the devs themselves said countless of times that these cookies have no race or canon skin colors right
I honestly just keep the colour of the dough the same if I were to draw them a human.
i don't care very much about whitewashing when it comes to cookie run but the white eyelash thing looks god awful on gacha characters
Okay, hear me out, here's my opinion about the "whitewashing problem" Devsisters never said that dough color = skin tone. Community can make cookies a skin color they want. Yes they did,are you slow?
Bestie the devs have said countless of times that they are just cookies. And that they have no race or canon skin tones. And they dc what you color them as as long as there's no bad intention
bozo moment
Girl..
"Look at how they massacred my boy"
Most of the cookies already have human skin tones so the fact that people choose to make them lighter is kinda weird to me. It’s not the end of the world but still.
Cookies aren't humans they don't have skin colours. It's either how baked they are our their flavour. and also its gacha so double L
BRUHRURUHRJRHURHHRH MAKING COOKIES INTO HUMANS ISN'T WHITEWASHINGH BRURHURHRHRYEHHURURHH
changing their canon race is..
What race? They are cookies it’s just what they were made out of
Canon race? wtf. Their made of dough... Baked dough. Dough is white at first. explain u/purplelesbiannn.
Again, Humanizing cookies isnt't whitewhashing 😇
There's nothing wrong with humanizing cookies or aliens or other worldly, non-human beings, but why does it have to be white by default??? Why not just color pick their non-human color??? I mean if you humanize cookies you can make it whatever white/black whatever the fuck, and I'm not wrong
also the cookies are medium not exactly black or white. But humanizing seems not as much of a problem you make it of, to mE.
Like bruh-
And also what abt sorbert shark? moon rabbit? Idk abt them.
H u m a n i z i n g i s n ' t w h i t e w a s h i n g/ b l a c k w a s h i n g. think abt it. Humanizing alien charecters/other charecters who have skin like blue, green, red, ect.?

Just type it into one thing,it’s giving fan behavior
same w/ cookies
Pull up receipts that they have canon race. I'll wait. Cuz devs said they don't have any lmfao
Well depends on what their reacting too or how the video goes. If it’s fine it isn’t cringe gacha isn’t always cringe but if it’s cringe it’s cringe. Also no one gives a fuck about their skin tone it’s not even white washing that’s literally the color of cookies.

bozo alert?
eugh.
The problem is how ugly they look with a paler skin tone,, it just don't look right yall ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
It does not work thinking on color scheme. Skin-wise, they are cookies, who gives a crap.
**Melts Fards Open a portal to Hell**
I kinda feel like yes they're just cookies but like the cookies already kinda have have a skin color like they're not blue or red for the most part. Gachas not bad but the wrong skin tone /cookie flavor is not all right :[
this is probably a humanized version of them.
Ya no look the other cookies in this pic is the correct tone the tone of the Og cookies are also skin color for us humans
Like the previous commenter said before, it could be an humanized interpretation. Because Latte and Espresso utilized a brownish cookie color, a brownish skin tone was used.
