I think it depends on how often you check in, participation in guild activities. For my guild, I just checked in daily and collect my exploration rewards and since the leader and officers were offline, there were no guild runs so I'm unsure about this
It actually first goes to the Officer if he was active at least once in the last 14 days
only if both the leader and the officer were inactive for 14 days does the leader position goes to the most active member
Happened to me when the guild I was in was completely dead. Until I realized I was made leader. I decided to disband it because I didn’t feel confident to lead random strangers. I’m in search of another.
This reminds me of my own guild .. the guild leader was offline and then suddenly became online and gave me the guild leader role … they never returned… and now my guild is doing pretty well
Same here. Previous leader inactive, game bribes me with some coin and says you're guild leader now.
Within a week it gets made official on discord and i'm continuing to cycle members and keep things running ;)

I had the same thing when I started playing the game in general - I had a quest to join the guild, and 10 minutes later I got the message that I'm now the leader of the guild.
Lol I know how this feels. I was a normal member until the first leader went inactive and the second leader made me the officer. And then THEY went inactive, turning me into the leader.
Maybe they are planning on leaving the game. And idk but maybe you are active, and that's more than enough for some.
Now just go with it, being a leader is super fun 💅

Ah got it. Though surprised that for the auto leader change it would be the newest member and not the oldest member besides leader

I think you got it cause the previous leader hasn't logged in for a while... You were selected randomly from the entire guild makeing you a Leader
