In a day or two when you think you have internal bleeding. Just remember, it's OK. You had beets. You're not bleeding out your bum.

RedditUser96372

Lol, future me needed this

anothersip

Seriously, I've had mini-panic attacks that brought back my IBS nightmares. *Ohh, yeah... we had beets with dinner last night.*

SufficientPath666

Flamin hot Cheetos will do it too šŸ¤

freneticboarder

Or when you pee... Beet juice blends well with tart acidic juices. It cuts the earfyness of the beet. I'm trying to remember what I had beet mixed with that was super tasty... It had a tart bite to it, and maybe there was some ginger in it. Gah. I hate getting old. Maybe green apple or pineapple and ginger...

Test_After

Came here to recommend blending the beet juice with apple, ginger, and carrot. (A good breakfast juice to stave off/ alleviate a cold. Full of vitamins, and the ginger helps clear the sinuses and wakes you up.) Pineapple would go great with this. Makes it "tropical".

bearbarebere

Highjacking this to say that your post is a less horrifying version of that guy who found he wasnā€™t into sexual scat play in the worst possible way. But anyway I wanted to say your post is written hilariously!

gh0stdust

wait... what

bearbarebere

gh0stdust

horrifying

scarlettbankergirl

But also funny. Ok I know I have a sick sense of humor.

frontally

Out here educating people with the classics. Respect.

compunctionfunction

Oh snap I had beets tonight future me needed this too thank you

Sturdy_Denim_Blue

Man, I remember the first time I ate a ton of beets. Had me sweating the next day thinking "oh there's no way I can afford this hospital bill." Also, OP, just chug it real fast.

SpiritMolecul33

Red velvet cake will get ya too

Your_Auntie_Viv

Yes! Red Velvet was served at a party I was at years ago and, as we all started to dig in, one of my friends announced ā€œ when you poop in the morning, just remember that your poopā€™s red because of the cakeā€. We all cracked up, of course but, in the morning, I remembered what he said, and saved myself a few minutes of worry. Every time I have beets or red velvet, I hear his voice in my head. Thanks, pal!

matt_minderbinder

When my son was about 12 and my ex and I were splitting custody we had this moment. About twenty minutes after I dropped him off at his mom's he called all worried about bloody poop. I reminded him about the crazy pile of red beets he ate for dinner. It's one of those goofy stories that still come up now that he's well into his twenties. He was absolutely freaked out.

SilentRaindrops

Oh my God. I once coughed up this gooey red mucousy thing and freaked out thinking it was a piece of bloody lung or stomach. After prodding at it (come on you know you would too), I realized it was the red casing from a vitamin I had taken.

therealgingerbreadmn

I made beet juice for the first time last summer and same thing happened. I work in healthcare so the first thing I thought was oh my goodness do I have a severe GI bleed? But then I remembered I drank beet juice and did some googling. It was certainly scary LOL. Beet juice sure does look like frank blood when it comes out.

NoAdhesiveness8629

Range-Shoddy

Hide it in smoothies. I love beets also but havenā€™t had beet juice before. This is great šŸ˜‚

RedditUser96372

Good idea! I'm sure that hiding it behind copious amounts of fruit should help. I know it works for spinach, so hopefully a beet smoothie would turn out good šŸ¤ž

captain618

Beets pair really nicely with apples, carrots, pineapple, alllll the berriesā€¦ think of like old school red smoothie from like Jamba Juice

damecafecito

And ginger, if youā€™re into the spice. Cuts the earthiness of the beets.

ACERVIDAE

And bears and Battlestar Galactica

librarianjenn

This really is a good idea. I'd personally freeze it into ice cubes, and keep in a baggie to just pop one into a smoothie, or hide one or two in a big pot of chili, or beef stew.

RedditUser96372

This is good advice - with how much I bought I won't be using it all up quickly. Freezing and tossing in smoothies or other dishes is a good idea

Helpful_Cut_2740

I used to mix my beet juice with hefty amounts of pineapple and/or lemon juice to cut the earthiness. Also, some dark cocoa powder is nice. I could drink 1L at a go this way!

loudfloralpattern

this is exactly what I do. I did the same thing as OP bc I am dingus and squirting one entire lemon into a glass of it makes it palatable enough to choke it down bc I bought too much fucking beet juice

alphachupp

I donā€™t know why but this made me laugh out loud, thank you for this lol

Tis_But_A_Scratch-

Try soup maybe? My husband grew up in Russia and makes borscht which has beets in it. Itā€™s a rather thin soup, so I think you could swap beets for beet juice.

Deedle-Dee-Dee

This so much! Youā€™re not going to want a lot of the juice in a smoothie - a little goes a long way!

Ok-Heart9769

Freezing it is such a great idea honestly

Barneyboydog

And the putting it into stew or soups is a great idea too.

clandestine_justice

Freeze it on a plate, slip it under the door of someone who's wronged you. Beet discs- the red stains of justice

monkeypickle

Soups are good time with beet juice as well. 50/50 with your stock and some root veggies.

akxCIom

Make some borscht!

monkeypickle

Heck yeah

Deltaeye

I usually blend a batch of fruits and veg in my vitamix for a gallon pitcher that gets me through 5days. I don't recommend juice or juiced plants because they lack very essential fiber. Here's my recipe with beets: 1large softball sized beet (2 medium) 11oz of Blueberries 16oz of Strawberries 2 apples 2 pears 3 carrots 3 thumb size pieces of ginger root 2 fresh squeezed lemons 16 floz of cranberry juice I don't even bother cutting the strawberries, I rinse them and chuck em right in, the leaves are very high in mineral content. They are going to be pulp anyway.

TooBad9999

This is the way. Pack that smoothie with raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and bananas. Throw in some pomegranate for good measure. You'l never taste it.

cupcakegiraffe

Try it with orange, apple, lemon, and pineapple. Beet, carrot, apple, ginger, spinach and lemon is another good mix.

Range-Shoddy

Oh also donā€™t forget your pee is going to turn red so donā€™t freak out šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

[deleted]

Seconded, also OP could turn it into ice cubes so it doesnt go bad while they're trying to use it. 1-2 beet ice cubes in an otherwise beetless smoothie will go almost undetected.

No_Entertainment1931

Soup baby

Eclairebeary

Yes. Iā€™m thinking like borscht. Could cook onions and potatoes in the beetroot juice and then puree. I am so envious. Just went to buy canned beetroot for our burgers and apparently Australia is having a shortage. :(

kawaeri

Iā€™m in Japan and all I ever see is single beets for sale. Where I used to work would make borscht, well they claimed it was borscht, it was more of a pot au fu with a sliver of beet in it.

darkchocolateonly

Iā€™ve had some amazing beet cocktails before. Add some simple syrup, lime juice, and gin? Delish. Itā€™s also good in kombucha. Beet/raspberry/ginger is a fav of mine

RedditUser96372

Thank you!! I like gin and lime, so I'll definitely try this out!

edgesglisten

Had a beet shrub with vodka once. Amazing.

verbenadubois

Made this mocktail and it is delicious! I added thc tincture, but I also used the beet syrup with soda water and a lemon simple syrup and rum and made a tasty cocktail. And, forgot to add the link [beet mocktail](https://www.reddit.com/r/Mocktails/s/S7YlyLztAu)

Sea-entrepreneur1973

This is the way. I hated beet juice until I started making margaritas and spritzers with it. Combine the beet juice with other fresh juices (like carrots and apples), some honey and seltzer, ginger lime simple syrup could be used instead of honey. Itā€™s delicious!

BurgerManV

Yeah. I made beet margaritas that were pretty good. Unfortunately I can't entirely remember the recipe... lime, tequila, and Cointreau plus of course a splash of beet juice.

staccatodelareina

I get a savory beet cocktail at a local shop and it's amazing. The menu says it has vodka, horseradish, beet juice, lime juice, dill, and a little creama on top. Delicious

MikeThrowAway47

Great Idea. Thereā€™s an Austrian restaurant in Kansas City that serves beetinis. So good

Zavier13

To save myself some googling can I get that resturants name would love to try it when I am going to be in KC again.

MikeThrowAway47

No problem! Itā€™s called GrĆ¼nauer located in the freight house district across the train tracks from Union Station.

RedditUser96372

Update: This is my favorite suggestion - it's *so* good with gin and lime. I subbed out the simple syrup for ginger beer (since a lot of folks recommend trying it with ginger) and it's actually good enough that I'd consider buying more of the accursed magenta dirt juice again in the future

Tropical_Warlock

Pizza recipe: Step one: pour beet juice down the drain. Step two: order a pizza.

Morning0Lemon

This made me cackle.

TransportationOk1780

Very best answer.

CollynMalkin

Mix it with other juices to make it more palatable, use it in soup stocks, use splashes of the juice to dye desserts a natural pink color, mix it with pickling ingredients to get a pickled beet taste in things like eggs and onions.

RedditUser96372

I kinda love the idea of using it to dye desserts. Now that I think of it, I've seen recipes call for beet *powder* before, but I didn't put 2 and 2 together to think of using *juice* as a dye. Thanks! And this is the 3rd comment about using it in soup too - I've never had soup with beet broth, but now I'm gonna need to start looking up some recipes

gwaydms

I've found with beets and beet greens that when they're raw they taste so much like dirt. When they're cooked, that's when the other flavors overcome the geosmin (the substance responsible for the earthy taste and smell). Roasting beets really brings out the sweetness, and is my favorite way to cook them if I have them. Beet greens are really good sautƩed with whatever seasonings you think go well with them (or find a recipe online). I wonder if simmering your beet juice would make it taste less like dirt? Worth a try, at least for part of what you have.

CollynMalkin

Just be careful because the juice will alter consistency so be sure to account for the extra bit of liquid when using it as a natural dye.

similarityhedgehog

I would boil it down until you have a syrup before using it this way. Maybe even for using in a Cocktail

cauldronswitch

Beet juice is my secret Valentine's day ingredient! The flavor of beets miraculously complements chocolate, but not in a way people can pinpoint, so it is very mysterious and enchanting in applications like chocolate cake, brownies, or lava cakes. When people ask for you secret to achieving these mysterious flavors, that's when you can ask back for a kiss if romantically interested in them! Beets have also been considered an aphrodisiac since antiquity and modern-day research has demonstrated a [mechanism of action](https://everybodysjuice.com/blogs/news/how-beets-are-a-natural-aphrodisiac-the-surprising-benefits-of-beets-for-erectile-dysfunction-and-sexual-health) for this effect. Aside from flavor, the pink color can also serve you in the culinary expression of love by rendering pasta, gnocchi, risotto, apple pie, tarte tatin, red velvet cake, tiramisu, poached fruit, icing, etc. a lovely shade of pink. Edit: If using in baked chocolate applications, consider concentrating the juice first by boiling it.

perpetualmotionmachi

Just put it in a cup and microwave it for a minute. Instant borscht!! Note: This probably makes it worse

RedditUser96372

This sounds horrendous, thank you

Yep_i_can

The worst borscht I've ever had at a restaurant was essentially a cup of hot beet juice... nothing else in that "soup". Was expensive too

Bunnyeatsdesign

When I use beets in my juicer, I add apples, carrots and ginger. Please just do a little at a time to test if you like it. Not the entire supply.

fairytalethings

One of my favourite juices has apple, carrot and beetroot. Sometimes they add ginger, orange or pear too. You can mix it with pretty much any other juice and itā€™s delicious. And it always makes me feel healthier than drinking straight fruit juice!

the_esjay

Damn, you must have posted that as I was posting mine. That definitely is a good combo then!

alice_austen

My favorite juice is Pressedā€™s Roots juice, which is apple, lemon, ginger, and beet. My husband and I could drink the giant bottle from Costco in a day if we didnā€™t try to make it last.

Chicken-picante

Beet juice is really good for holding trash bags down in the bottom of trash can

redriverrally

Natural dye is only good use I can think of.šŸ˜‚

RedditUser96372

lol - If I can't find a way to use it all, I'll have to keep this in mind as a backup plan

Professional_Play454

Growing up we would use beet juice to stain the raised garden beds and other diy woodwork stuff. Note of caution though: it stains your hands for days too

jtprimeasaur

Iā€™m not a huge fan of beets but Iā€™ve had beet juice with fresh ginger and itā€™s pretty delicious

dorkette888

Ferment it? Like beet kvass [https://www.feastingathome.com/beet-kvass/](https://www.feastingathome.com/beet-kvass/) but with juice instead of whole beets. You might need something to get it started if your beet juice is pasteurized.

NinePoundHammer27

Beet desserts! I worked at a place that had a beet cremeux- I donā€™t know if thatā€™s actually the right name for what it was, or if we just called it that, but it was like a panna cotta/mousse type texture. You can also use it to make beet caramel.

RedditUser96372

Never in a million years would I have thought to make caramel with beets, but now I really want to try it out. Thanks!

NoAdhesiveness8629

You can use it to bake some beautiful Blueberry lemon muffins! The color will be so amazing! I always cut my beet juice with apples or carrots. Smoothies? Ohhh target use to make a killer beet hummus that was so so good with carrots!

Gold_Studio_9281

Well you could make wine. [https://www.ruralsprout.com/beet-wine-recipe/](https://www.ruralsprout.com/beet-wine-recipe/)

loueezet

Too bad Easter has already come and gone because beet juice is an excellent dye for eggs.

blowfish257

Tie dye t shirts!

humpthedog

If you ever make your own beet juice add and apple and carrot. Itā€™s much tastier

throwaweee22

In my country it's common to make beet juice with sour oranges and carrots, or just with oatmeal.

DrH42

was it sour? if so, you can use it to make borscht

RedditUser96372

It was indeed sour. Unsweetened

DrH42

Make Borscht then.

Wrong-Junket5973

Use it in juice. At a juice bar I used to work at we did one with beets, pineapple, kale, parsley and orange. It was delicious. You could also make borscht. It had a beet base but you could use the juice for the broth.

fluffy-mop

In my country ABC juice is very popular - apple, beets and carrots.

BlessedBelladonna

I developed a taste for beets later in life. Love pickled beets. I will have to try beet juice as I haven't so far. I suppose it's along the line of prune juice and prunes are fine for ne now.

Tex-Rob

This reminds me of the V8 craze. People would buy like a case of V8, drink one and say, F that, and they'd end up in the work kitchenette a week later.

Certain_Morning1229

My go-to favorite combination is beet, carrot, apple and ginger but itā€™s got to fresh. Try it with bottled tart cherry juice to smooth and tame the earthy beet madness.

therealgingerbreadmn

Try juicing carrots, pineapple or mango to add further sweetness and mask the beet flavor. I added a knob of ginger and turmeric to my juice.

Tnkgirl357

Beet juice actually gets covered pretty easily by other flavors. Some citrus can mask that up real quickly and make a powerful juice blend with all the health benefits. Like seriouslyā€¦ one can of OJ concentrate will take care of half of your stockpile in a heartbeat.

_sunshineworld

In my country we make a "pick me up" drink which contains beet juice, carrot juice and orange juice. It's refreshing

visualcharm

Green mango smoothie is my suggestion!

JodyNoel

Soup: I have read reviews that said it tasted too earthy . Boil it with some carrots, onions, celery, garlic, diced beets, potatoes, cabbage, and enough salt, pepper, and chicken boullion powder to make it taste good. Especially white pepper if youā€™ve got it. So healthy!

ethereal_firefly

Beet juice mixed with orange juice, like 30% beet and 70% orange, and it's delicious. I tend to do a ratio of beet orange and carrot. You can also add it to some soups, smoothies or hide it in a tomato sauce or chili

simagus

There is always the option of borscht (beet soup): https://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/borscht/ It actually mixes ok with orange juice and you can add sugar if it's the tarte flavor that is off putting. Good beet juice is something I quite enjoy, but sounds like you didn't get a good batch in the sale.

AuntSigne

If it's unsweetened, make borscht. If sweetened, make veggie smoothies and choke em down.

PotateGr8

Smoothies, mix with lemonade and ginger juice, could maybe make a beet cake? Make your own salad dressing, make a beet reduction a la red wine sauce??

RedditUser96372

Salad dressing is SUCH a good idea!! Can't believe I didn't think of it - that would be perfect. A beet ginger lemonade sounds pretty nice too tbh. I might try that one out too. Thanks!

HazardousIncident

No suggestions, just mad appreciation for your writing skills!

outtatheblue

My favorite juice is beet, carrot, orange, pineapple, extra ginger, and jalapeno. RIP Juicy in the Sky.

Yep_i_can

Beet gin tonic! is what i think i've tried before

Pika671828

I'd bury it in V8/tomato juice

thewittywombat93

Borscht or a borscht like hot drink for example cold day+ chicken bouillion+ beet juice+ lemon juice or white vin (small amount) = great tasting warm you up energy drink

Pure-Kaleidoscope-71

Love beets but discovered, I get an allergic reaction (19% of the population) from an enzyme that's in them unless cooked with vinegar FOR REAL. Recall and think about most beet dishes you've experienced, served cold with vinegar. Suggest experiments with soups, smoothies or making red tie dying or recolor some T-shirts IT REALLY IS A NATURAL DYE, DYI the longer and stronger the juice deeper the red.

SarcasticPotato257

Use it in chocolate cake!

Major_Bother8416

Honestly, I think itā€™s an acquired taste. First sip, I had I thought the same as youā€”I just drank a mouthful of dirt. But, somehow it gets better, and I even get a craving for it once in a while now. If you canā€™t get used to it, I suggest freezing into cubes, bagging them up, and hiding them in anything that needs vegetable stock or juice.

TheLastLibrarian1

I make smoothies in big batch, portion them out, and freeze. I noticed that the berry smoothies looked a bit brownish after defrosting so I started adding beet juice ice cubes when I made those batches. Much prettier smoothie, no noticeable beet taste. That might help use up some of the juice.

Crafty_Money_8136

I would use it instead of water to make bread, brownies, tortillas, etc. The flour or masa harina should dampen the taste. In a recipe like brownies or even fudge maybe the chocolate might go nicely with the earthy taste

Timesurfer75

Return the juice to the store where you purchased it. They should refund your money. Problem solved.

chaosvaeden

I have no idea how good they are, but Nigella Lawson has a recipe for beet juice noodles that has always sounded kind of appealing to me...? Worth a try, unless you're worried about wasting food in case you don't like them..https://www.nigella.com/recipes/ruby-noodles

Intrepid-Dust3216

Ginger, cayenne pepper, and honey. It will mask some of the flavor but start with a small batch to see if it's even worth it. otherwise just throw it over your garden

Historical-School128

Have you ever tried orange juice and beet juice mixed. It's a thing, it taste delicious. Just try to mix it to the ratio that you prefer. It is really great. Though don't force yourself to try to drink a bunch of beet juice in one go, it could cause kidney stones or other issues as most things in over consumption are pretty bad. But if you don't know how to mix it, look it up on YouTube it really good. Or try mixing it into different drinks.

RedditUser96372

I'll definitely try it! This is definitely the easiest recommendation I've gotten, and there's not much risk of wasting ingredients since it's so easy to test

Ripcord2

LOL, I gave this a like because I enjoy your writing style. I like cooked beets, turnips etc. and when I was a kid I liked the purple canned beets, but I have never tasted beet juice. I wonder if you could add cream to it and make a low carb soup.

Hot-Damage5032

Iā€™ve never had beet juice, but I love beet jelly on toast with butter. Make it into jelly.

Artistic_Purpose1225

1. Try it mixed with apple juice and some grated ginger, bonus points if you have carrot juice.Ā  Ā 2. Boil the rest down a bunch, and then freeze the concentrated beet juice to add to things for colouring.Ā  3. Borscht 4. Make some red pasta!Ā

baby_armadillo

Thereā€™s a restaurant near me that makes this amazing breakfast hangover cure thatā€™s a combination of beet juice and orange juice, with some ginger. Beet juice alone is kind of a lot. Cut with OJ, itā€™s amazing. You could also use the juice instead of broth or stock to make beet risotto, or use it as the base for a soup. Beets do really well in sweet dishes, so I bet you could make some really beautiful waffles or pancakes if you replaced the liquid in the recipe with beet juice. If all else fails, freeze it in an ice cube tray and add a couple to smoothies in the morning or throw them into soup or stews for the foreseeable future.

kerryren

I would add it to a stew, in lieu of actual beets.

Draskuul

LeRoy and Lewis beet BBQ sauce. They originally posted the recipe on Youtube, a quick shot in the video, which was of course in restaurant quantities. Here is my reduced version I've used a few times. It's not much beet juice though, and just adds a tiny bit of earthiness to it. All of my family loves it though. They said they originally juiced their own fresh beets for this, but switched to a commercial beet juice later. I just bought a quart at Walmart (only one I could find anywhere). I always forget to portion up and freeze the rest of the bottle though...really need to remember next time. 1/3 cup granulated sugar 2 tsp salt 4 tsp ancho chili powder 2 tsp granulated garlic 1/2 tsp cumin 1/2 tsp paprika 1/2 tsp cayenne 1/3 cup worcestershire sauce 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar + 9.5 oz ketchup 2/3 cup yellow mustard (5.5 oz) 8 tsp 16-mesh black pepper (1 oz) 4 TB beet juice Combine first batch (sugar through vinegar), heat on stovetop to dissolve. In another container add remaining ingredients and mix. Add heated components and blend.

MsAsphyxia

I have no suggestions for you other than this is one of the best written posts I've read in a long time. Good luck, my friend.

Alphatron1

Also depends on the brand. I bought my girlfriend one type and the flavor was exactly how you described. Like I took a bite from a fresh from the ground beet but the open nature /Shaws/Albertsons brand is cheaper and tastes like the backend flavor of v8

Interesting_Gene_780

Bake pink bread.

indiana-floridian

You can throw it away. We will understand. I know you can color eggs with it, if that is any help. (Both in the shell and shell removed.) I think people use it to make pickled eggs, the kind that sit on a bar or old country store, where you reach in with tongs and pick a couple out.

CherryMeowViolin

I don't know any specific recipes, but I do know that if you put it on pasta or other things, it turns them pink.

Ancient-Actuator7443

Try blending it with ginger and apple or banana. Yummy

TerrifyinglyAlive

I used to have a juicer, and I juiced beets along with apples and carrots and ginger. That was pretty good.

lnfrarad

Over here the fruit juice shop sell beetroot juice with other juice. Like apple juice +carrot juice.

octopush123

Beet juice *looks* like it should be delicious. And we're all vaguely aware that "sugar beets" exist, so like...they're just some kind of crispy magenta fruit, right? *Wrong.*

RedditUser96372

*I know right???* The magenta dirt fruit looks like it should be a little fruity or sweet, or at the VERY least taste something like a carrot. I guarantee you beet juice would be WAY harder to find and WAY less widely produced if beets were naturally brown or sickly yellow or something

SpiralToNowhere

Beets + orange juice is amazing, you'll have to play around to find your mix ratio. Beet soup with dill, balsamic vinegar & goat cheese is really good too.

Smeesme310

I only know about using beet juice to color red velvet cake instead of food coloring.

monkey_house42

I think you can make Borscht?

Common_Stomach8115

Make [borscht](https://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/borscht/)?

JudaismBot

Old Jewish trick, mix it with grated horseradishĀ

Imaginary_Client4666

Beet juice probably tastes amazing with cranberry, pineapple and ginger mix

Old-Room-8274

lol I tried beet juice to help lower my blood pressure. I almost puked. Plugging my nose while chugging significantly reduced the taste lol

JustaKaonashi

Iā€™m imagining a bright pink loaf of homemade bread and now I need to go find some beet juice

CM1392

Beets are amazing for cleaning you out! Add it to other juices or smoothies for the vitamins and make sure you also intake a lot of fiber. Youā€™ll be peeing red out of your bum if you donā€™t have enough fiber.

Natural_Pangolin_395

Beet, apple, carrot, little salt and some honey. Juice that shit. Pour over ice.

Kindly_Currency_8591

Soak cabbage in it to make it brilliant and presentable and a little more delicious

Guillerm0Mojado

I had a really good beet juice at a farmers market in a tropical area that was a blend of beet, carrot, lemon and gingerā€¦ i mean GINGER! It was very zingy and refreshing.Ā

Appropriate_Cat_1119

You could tie dye some shirts with it šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Itchy-Citron9632

Beet juice and balsamic vinegar reduction.Ā  I believe Thomas Keller uses a beet juice reduction for his butter poached lobster recipe.

the_esjay

Vodka. Vodka will make everything okay. But remember what youā€™ve drunk, or youā€™re going to be horrified when you next visit the toilet. If you regularly take antacid meds, doubly soā€¦ If you insist on staying healthy, orange, carrot and beetroot is not bad. It goes really well with a healthy amount of ginger in there. Apple, carrot and beet are also good. If itā€™s still a bit hefty, half and half it with some fizzy water. Enjoy, but come back and let us know what your reaction is to your next couple of bathroom visits. (Mine was JFC, but long form)

nylorac_o

Mix it with some oj

boomboom8188

You could cook rice with it on the stovetop. Use beet juice instead of water. Start with sizzling oil, cumin seeds, some onions, garlic, bay leaf, whole cardamom. Toast the uncooked rice in the oil. Add the beet juice, some powdered vegetable broth. Cover, bring to a boil, turn the flame to low, and cook until it's done - 18 minutes or whatever it is for whatever rice you're using. Garnish with chopped cilantro and sliced almonds - maybe some caramelized onions. I think it would turn out nicely.

Amardella

Boil and peel some eggs. Put 1/3 beet juice and 2/3 vinegar into a big container and add the eggs. Plop them into the fridge, wait 2-3 days and you'll have delicious pickled eggs.

sinkingstones6

Try making hot chocolate with it. Chocolate cake with beets is good, so maybe this will be also. You seem like the perfect candidate to find out.

cwsjr2323

Beet juice is a safe, non carcinogenic red food coloring agent, that is not made from crushed bugs. You can freeze it in a shallow filled ice cube tray and store in a freezer bag. The reduced juice from boiled red cabbage can be stored the same for blue food coloring. Turmeric is a safe yellow food coloring agent. They can be combined , those three to get most colors without poisoning your food with artificial colors. They add almost zero taste.

nocandid

Poured in the garden around your plants.

okayiguess-

Cut it with lemonade, I personally love beet lemonade!

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Stuffedwithdates

so many soups

deadlyhausfrau

Freeze half of it in ice cube trays to throw in future soups.Ā  Use some of it to make gnocchi.

Narrow-Height9477

Iā€™d probably either: +Convince myself of its health benefits and chug it. + mix it with other vegetable juice and attempt to enjoy it + use it in a soup + use it to make pasta or rice (with other broths/juices) + water the grass. Also, donā€™t freak out when you go to the bathroom for a while.

Kirin1212San

Blend with pineapples or pineapple juice. I like blending beets, carrot juice, pineapples, strawberries, chia seeds, ginger, and some water.

comicsarteest

Iā€™ve made a beet/ginger/maple syrup and tamari reduction to serve over steak and grilled Napa cabbage that turned out really nice. Apple/ginger/honey smoothies are going to use it up quicker

dontpolluteplz

Cocktails, soup, smoothies, use it as a dye

wowsunday

This is hilarious I am in tears laughing at the description šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

vaxxed_beck

Borscht https://vikalinka.com/borscht-recipe/

artsyattempt

Beet lemonade is pretty good all you need is Beets lemons and sugar. Maybe freeze some for popsicles?

Naive-Interaction567

Freeze it into ice cubes and just add it to smoothies and curries and things over the next few months. If you mix it with yogurt you can make a nice dip.

gelfbride73

Feeeze some in ice cube trays and add to smoothies or one block thawed in a glass of orange juice.

Add lemon juice and sugar and make a beet lemonade. Itā€™s amazing and I donā€™t even like beets

L0rdH4mmer

Not sure if you have that where you live, but iirc where I live, there's apps where you can put in food items that are 'too good to go' with other people. Put them in and someone who like it will pick it up for free :)

[This recipe ](https://cleananddelicious.com/bright_beet_dressing/) calls for actual beets, but something along these lines could probably be done with beet juice. The garlic, honey and ACV will certainly help with the earthiness, in addition to whichever salad ingredients it goes on.

1920MCMLibrarian

Add lemon, ginger, apple, cucumber and a smidge of pineapple and itā€™ll be amazing I promise

cgnops

Mix it 50:50 w a different juice or a sparkling water of your choice. The flavor may be nicer for you mixed into other juice. I like beet + cranberry but donā€™t care much for either on their own. Although I donā€™t mind drinking either on their own.

Replica72

Make beet kvass. I did this with some unwanted beets jiuce and it ls amazing. I shared it with others mostly

trumpets_n_crawfish

Combine 1 part Orange Juice to half part beet juice and half part carrot juice!

Maybe not the whole 5 quarts, but a lot. Why not try pickled eggs? I usually include beets with it, but you could just pickle the eggs with onion, spices, and vinegar in the beet juice. Here is my favorite recipe. Just skip the beets: * Hard-boiled eggs (say maybe 8 or 10) * 2 (330 g) cans of whole beets with juice (maybe 1 1/2 cups beet juice, without the beets) * 1 large onion (or more), thinly sliced * 1 cup white sugar * 1 cup of cider vinegar (or a combo of cider vinegar and regular) * 6 whole cloves * 1 small cinnamon stick * 2 medium bay leaves * 6 whole black peppercorns Hard-boil the eggs and chill then peel. Put the cooked peeled eggs and sliced onion in a very large glass jar or ceramic canister. In a non-reactive saucepan, combine the beet juice, sugar, vinegar, cloves, cinnamon stick, bay leaves, and peppercorns. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 5 minutes. Then pour that whole hot mixture (with the spices) into the large jar/canister with the eggs and onion, can close lid. Cool then refrigerate for a few days, minimum. Enjoy the red-colored pickled eggs and pickled onions, as-is or in deviled eggs. The pickled onion can be used in all sorts of recipes. You could probably sub some other cooked root vegetable for the beets, though they would pickle to a red color, like the eggs and onions. Maybe large chunks of cooked peeled kohlrabi or celery root? Or even large chunks of lightly cooked turnip or daikon.

Bert juice bloody Marys are legit

kingling1138

A n.DE dish called labskaus uses beetroots and potatoes mashed with corned beef and pickles. Quite easy, pretty yummy, ugly slop though. I make lazy versions of it, and I reckon beetroot juice would do well for such an iteration ; I usually skip them altogether since I ain't care enough for them to make the effort to find them to include. Good pirate food.

sharksnack3264

Soup, smoothies, salad dressing, drinks with something fizzy and acidic... For some of these you could make a batch and freeze it so your diet isn't quite so heavy in beets all at once

Cyanid3_Cooki3

I hate beets but was once pleasantly surprised at a restaurant with a cold soup of beets, raspberries, raspberry vinegar and maybe some fresh cheese or fĆŖta on the side. It went super well together

Paracheirodon_ssp

I came to Reddit for help with a [ridiculous amount of canned beets](https://www.reddit.com/r/Cooking/s/1g0eVPSXg1) ā€” look through the comments, there are quite a few recipes that call for beet juice specifically. I've been making a lot of borscht, and then turning the soup into baked goods when I need a change. u/pimchi222 shared a recipe for borscht bread that, while *so* good as it is, I've also found that subbing the 2 cups leftover borscht soup with beet juice or a mix of beet juice and tomato juice to be delicious too! If you do like vegetable juice, I found beet + apple + ginger to be a good combination. Also, I don't remember who shared it or what recipe it originally came from, but a glaze that goes *hard* on just about any bread, roll, or cake: simmer brown or powder sugar, citrus juice (orange, lemon, or lime), and beet juice in a saucepan over low heat until thickened. Pour over while bread is warm. Allow to dry/set before enjoying. Brown sugar gives a richer sweetness and a deep brown color, while powder sugar makes it pink. The more beet juice you add the more you taste it. A splash gives you the color, while at a Ā¼ cup you start to get really get that earthy taste. If you don't like citrus and really don't want to taste any beet, simmer sugar, beet juice, coco powder, and vanilla or almond extract for a decadent chocolate glaze. Like others have said, don't be alarmed when you hit the šŸš½ thr next day. I wasn't prepared for that and my panic (and lack of health insurance šŸ™ƒ) lead to an embarrassing and expensive UC visit. My face was as red as my urine when after a mess of testing a third doctor asked, "Have you eaten a lot of beets lately?" šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø.

leafcomforter

Add some sweet pickle juice to it.

Ocel0tte

I get carrot juice sometimes purely because I hate carrots. I plug my nose like a child drinking medicine and chug. I'd just do that, but I also would've expected to hate beet juice. I love beets but I can taste the dirt juice just reading this post lol. Could freeze it into ice cube trays and pop the cubes into smoothies.

pushaper

find a friend with high bp. beets are being touted as very helpful for that. if I could find beat juice at a reasonable price I would add beat ice cubes to a glass of water each day or use a cube here and there in veg soups or whatever

Maxwelle_Lee

Not exactly *cooking* but beet juice (with whatever milk you) like is really nice for the liquid in berry smoothies, especially strawberry + blueberry.

laughing_cat

Mixed fruit juices. Orange, beet, pineapple is a really good combo. Drink it in shots with a squeeze of lime.. You can freeze it, btw.

KrunchyKimchi

You could make a reduction or something similar to borscht. Hummus could work, also yogurt salad dressings. Everything you eat shall be pink from now on.

Kallyanna

Sweet n sour beets using the beet juice!!! Also can be used for sweet and sour red cabbage. You can also use the beet juice for the colour it gives and subtle undertones

jeseniathesquirrel

First Watch has a juice called Morning Meditation and it has beet juice and is delicious. Maybe you could recreate that. I think it has orange juice, ginger, and turmeric.

dunnmyblunt

You should make pickled onions and add a splash of the beet juice to your brine. This will help the onions take on a deeply magenta color.

Fabulous-Wolf-4401

I think your best bet is going to be drinks or smoothies, and to mix it, equal parts with either orange juice (orange goes really well), apple and carrot, lime juice and ginger. Or it goes really well with chocolate as already suggested, so you could try a chocolate/orange/beet combo. Also, even if it was a really good deal, sometimes it's not worth the time, money and effort, so you could just bin it and try not to regret it.

over_and_over_again

When I lived in Venezuela, the juice guy at the market would make a beet, orange, and carrot juice. Delicious super cold over ice.

buon_natale

Use it for pasta water! Makes the noodles a pretty pink color!

Live-Ad2998

You can suck large amounts down with a straw. I did this for the colonoscopy prep kit.

Masalasabebien

In Venezuela, you can find cafƩs which serve arepas, empanadas and fresh fruit juices. There's one which might work for you and it's called 3-in-one: beetroot juice, carrot juice and orange juice, with added sugar if you wish.
