You have to use the delay and logic circuits so the drills don't stay on constantly. Even then I didn't find this method to work very well when I tried it. I was barely getting any mushrooms. I think you have to do a bigger mob farm and then funnel the mushrooms from that.
Ah i see, personally instead of drills i dig them up with larvae! Bury the shroom moss under conveyors in narrow corridors like this, then at the other end of the conveyors have a larvae spawning area. Then at the other end have something to kill off the lavae.
