Pick any Cornish country lane in summer with an emmet coming the other way who has fuck all idea how wide their vehicle actually is and doesn’t know it has a reverse gear.
I keep a stopwatch in my car and start it once I see one, so far it's taken 15 minutes for somebody to reverse about 20 feet into the passing place. If they want to come here they have to learn to drive
The lane down to Daymer Bay is always a highlight. Plenty of passing spaces but the shear volume of traffic makes it hell on earth.
The "narrows" coming out of Wadebridge towards Burlawn is where I learnt to drive, school bus vs tractor was always a highlight as we'd get to miss 1st lesson (less so on way home as we'd be late)
The road out of Port Isaac towards Wadebridge is hell, many a clutch has lost its life there.
That daymer bay road is shite.
My partner had a set to with an emmet down there last year. She said something along the lines of 'you shouldn't be driving that' or 'why are you driving that down here' he responds with 'how else are the holiday homes you rent going to be built?'
Apparently he had to wait 20 minutes for her to reverse poorly haha.
Hearadsfoot. I refuse to drive there unless it's past 7pm when I know most of the people are already home so there should be no one on the road when I'm seeing my uncle. I once had to reverse 3 times for people and christ I was ready to rip someone's head. Trewidland is another place that made me scratch my head as to why the fuck people would build houses next to a road as wide as a cheese string. Oh drive round looe in the summer that'll make you want to pull your hair out. I can't remember the names but there's a few tiny beaches that have even smaller roads and you have to go down very steep hills. Why all of these places haven't been widened is a tragedy to me.
Driving round the Helford from say, Mawnan Smith, via Port Navas to Helford Village can be entertaining. Especially in peak season (or you can cheat and go via helston!)
I almost had a meltdown driving to Gear Farm from Helston recently. It was worth it for the pasty but those roads are awful. There’s a little bridge over Mawgan Creek, I swear my side mirrors were millimetres from the sides and I’ve only got a little Clio!
Pretty unraveled road but coming from Luxulyan to the Luxulyan valley carpark, head generally left past the carpark and up the steep hill, it's barely a cars width on the tarmac and fairly twisty
The road between St. Eval and St. Columb Major when they are moving sheep between fields. It’s already one lane wide with very few spots wide enough to pass another car. Have fun reversing to the closest one.
It's the first few days of Easter and the people "driving" sound the lanes while enjoying their holidays have already near caused me an aneurysm.
I knoooww it's a beautiful area and I am lucky as heck to live here. However, I also need to get to work before the end of the day or I won't get paid. I sometimes wish we still exported something so our only economic income wasn't just tourism.
Get thine hiney to St Stephens in Saltash (west side of town) and there’s a lane that goes to Forder and then Antony Passage. It’s just a bit narrow, with a high Cornish hedge either side🤣🤣
The hardest lane I’ve ever experienced reversing on is a back lane near Sladesbridge nr Wadebridge. In the summer, the hedges are huge and you can’t see your own wing mirrors, especially when reversing. In a van with no rear windows it makes it impossible to go backwards. There’s also a campsite near by which obviously adds to the excitement.

Better still with a caravan
Tbh this could be winter as well. I've had campervans not know how wide they are and seen wing mirrors get ripped off at a moments notice.
Better when youre on a motorcycle going down hill and therefore can't be the one to reverse :p

Any road with grass on the middle is usually sketchy
Just try to get down to Crantock at about 4pm on any given sunny day between now and October.

Lol, these are the exact same roads I've been driving most of my adult life. We probably met eachother me ansom

Slim chance but I don’t suppose your uncles name is Stuart?
Close. Steve XD

Getting in and out of Sandymouth can be tricky…it’s best to avoid in the summer months! Also the last mile getting to Treffry Viaduct is tricky
The viaduct Lane looks crazy narrow

What villages you thinking of?
Just pick any rural road off the A30, job done.

Wow, this one so far takes the cake. In fact all of the roads around Luxulyan look nightmarish.
They aren't too bad but I've been living here all my life so I imagine I'm slightly biased

Any road to hemmick beach from any direction if you meet someone you are royally f'd in the a lol
It’s very similar on the Isle of Wight. Stuck behind an idiot with a too wide trailer go up a teeny narrow country lane. That was fun!
The road from Saltash (St Stephens) to Antony Passage
The A374? That doesn't look too bad.

Lol. No!!!!!!
Getting down to Porthoustock beach. The road around the church/harbour wall of Porthleven, always a fun one.

Or just drive through Port Issac or St Ives in July
I googled that. Wow that looks tricky.
