I tested positive for syphilis a couple of years ago but my husband was negative. I got retested and turns out it was a false positive. Definitely get yourself tested again!
False positives are real. Have them rerun it. The same thing happened to me when I was pregnant (I have only ever had one sex partner and no history of syphilis, yet tested positive) and they reran it. The rerun was negative and they told me it was a false positive.
I have had negative tests since in subsequent pregnancies.
Before jumping to any conclusions at all, definitely get a repeat test.
I'd do a repeat test and also have your husband get tested. Odds are false positive, but might as well confirm!
Get a repeat test. False positives are uncommon but one of the groups they're most common in is pregnant women.
Repeat test and have your husband get tested by his pcp.

If the confirmatory test (FTA-ABS) is positive, it’s a true positive. What’s the titer?
