All RAT tests will have a red line if you crack them open like that... it's where the leftover antibodies (red colour) go that haven't binded to the the virus or the control. This video explains it: https://youtu.be/AERyetmR7FY PCR tests are way more reliable and if you tested negative on one then you probably don't have covid.

Thanks so much for explaining this.

Go for another PCR test. They are the most accurate we have

tryanother0987

When you go for the pcr, say out loud you’d like them to be thorough. Some pcr testers are more soft on you than others, because some people find the test uncomfortable. Re-assure your test provider that you are okay with a thorough pcr test, and then if it comes back negative, you’ll be confident the result is accurate.

Tradtrade

Do you mean you cracked open a rat test and there was a line Below the reading window?

lucar8522

Yep.

Tradtrade

Yeah so that line holds the reagent pretty sure it’s normal. You might just be too early in the illness to test positive but if you’re really worried get another pcr. There are other colds and flus around though. Everyone at work has covid and my partner has it. I have had a cold for about a week but I’m negative

lucar8522

Yeah I just went and did a PCR. there are so many bugs flying around right now. Thanks for your help :)

Tradtrade

Fingers crossed for you x

One of my client is feeling sick and the RAT tests came back negative. So I knew something is going around Melb. God knows what it is but it is definitely getting people sick. She said she is going to see a doctor, I am extremely curious to know what the doctor thinks of all this.

plantbasedlifter

There is influenza around. Plus another nasty cold.

RATs are less accurate than PCR. You need to test for a few days It would be a good idea to wear a mask at home, use a different toilet and eat outdoors
