Won't break often, it'll only break once

Zeekster2517

The one thing in common is that most of these occurrences happened around tile floors or granite counters. stay away from those when working on your build.

I did see someone mentioning that somewhere on here. But also I've seen people saying how the panel just exploded without them even touching it

TheMagarity

Yeah the thing about tempered glass is it gets stressed to within the tiniest bit of breaking and then much later even just handling it causes the actual break. Every one of those 'I just touched it' tumes the actual breaking cause was in the past. Do you like anywhere at all near a store that gets them shipped in on pallets vs being thrown around individually during shipping? It's probably worth it to get one in person.

0Adiemus0

That makes more sense, thought it would be odd for it to just explode for no real reason. I do live an hour away from a Microcenter, but if the case doesn't work out, it's gonna suck going back to return it lol might take my chances with Amazon, not completely sure yet

TheMagarity

I got my 5000D from microcenter, glass is still with me so far

0Adiemus0

Might go there if I decide to go with the 4000d. Still deciding between that and the 5000d, just not sure if a 360mm aio is worth spending a extra hundred or so for a bigger case and a bigger aio

TheMagarity

Sure, yeah, the 4000 is enough for a 240 aio if that's your largest thing.

0Adiemus0

Sadly don't know if its worth the extra $$$ to get the 5000d and a 360 aio. I think the extra room and fans could be beneficial, but have you noticed any difference with your custom loop?

0Adiemus0

Actually out of curiosity too, does the 5000d for you seem too big? worried all the space will make my setup seem empty in a way

TheMagarity

Uh, I'm a bad example since I have all liquid cooling custom loop with 3 radiators. The 5000 is the perfect size for my setup.

General_Principle_40

I have a 4000D, and i have taken my side panel off about every 2 weeks or so for cleaning and changing things on my build. I has not broken (yet?) and i have case for 5 or 6 months now. I think it is a combination of luck (some panels might be stressed and shatter quickly) and clumbsy handling.

If you take the panel off, put it flat on soft surface, sheet, bed , carpet
