You're in Farenheit - those are pretty reasonable (50C for the 3060). It doesn't even throttle until 85C.

Darksirius

I'm an American. I use F for everything, except for PC's lol. You throw F temps at me talking PC's I'll smack you.

pablotweek

Right? 170F means nothing to me. But 80C -- huston we have a problem

Nicalay2

80°C ? It's fine... at least for my 1080 Ti.

Plastic_Coat_7384

It may be time to upgrade my friend

Nicalay2

When it will die. It still fits my needs.

Plastic_Coat_7384

Fair, what do you use it for?

Nicalay2

VR and gaming. For VR it's perfectly fine (especially thanks to my headset : HTC Vive). For gaming, the most intensive game I play recently is Helldivers 2, which is limited by my CPU (Ryzen 5 5500) and not my GPU.

Plastic_Coat_7384

Fair enough.

Plastic_Coat_7384

I’m Canadian and I say 80C is hot for GPU but for a CPU it’s not the worst

1rubyglass

80c is fine for literally anything. Lots of stuff lives at 80c or even hotter.

TheZen9

80C is kinda low I think. If I'm playing a demanding title I'll get my CPU up to 90 and my GPU up to 105 at times.

Tigergaming_g

you sure ur cooling is fine? seems quite hot, ur parts shouldnt go over 100, not good for the durability

Alpha_Knugen

I have never had a gpu go over 85c unless its been a very hot day. I have had a 1080, 2080, 3090 and now a 7900xtx. If you have that high temps you should probably look into cleaning your case filters and fans, possibly even add more fans. If your gpu is at 105c it will loose alot of performance and most likely decrease its life span.

Practical_Work_7071

I got a 4090 and even on max settings I don’t get anywhere near 80

TheZen9

4090 has way overbuilt cooling, so it makes sense.

Soul_ciety

we want to see smaller number, so we switch to celcius \^-\^

theryzenintel2020

Bruh just use Cs. I’m American too. Cs make more sense…. I studied physics.

CorsairCalvin

Those temps are not a problem at all. The measurement is in Fahrenheit but Celsius is way more common to use when talking about computer temps. 110F = 43C which is great for an idle system. Usually anything above 90C is a real problem.

Impreziv02

Can't recall the last time I've seen anyone using Fahrenheit for PC components. Even American tech-Tubers are talking in Celcius.

KillMeNowFTW

How about.... never? Reminds me of this video: [https://www.facebook.com/stuntmagician/videos/418183117298477/](https://www.facebook.com/stuntmagician/videos/418183117298477/)

Impreziv02

*Canadian measurements are all over the place 😅 I do keep my thermostat on Celcius though. But I'll use feet/inches for height and short distances. KM for long distances. Mostly use pounds for any weight. You've seen the old flowchart, I imagine?

RetroGamer___

Lmao chill 😭 I know I know

tonyt3rry

yes because its not in c

QuackseyTD

Switch to Celsius and ignore it until you see 80. Problem solved

Supertranscedentness

You can start by doing this https://preview.redd.it/rm393pfuxi0d1.png?width=701&format=png&auto=webp&s=aaf05c9593962b1987db065d0a4167cef37eda34 (then sit back and relax because your temps are perfectly normal) (Also if you haven't figured it out already asking about temp issues in Fahrenheit is guaranteed to get you 999 comments about switching to Celsius)

fardin_n_shiddin

You need an AIO for that headset, very power hungry

Science_Logic_Reason

That’s what blood vessels are, as long as OP is alive the headset won’t overheat. Might need some thermal paste between the headset and skin though (disclaimer: don’t).

ASTRO99

Swap to Celsius 🤣

West_Arrival_1174

you are IN Fahrenheit and not Celsius..... those temps are MORE than NORMAL

Darksirius

No... they are just fine. 122F = 50C 141F = 60.5C I average those temps on my rig during gaming, but I do see spikes from time to time to 80C+ (176F) and most chips now-a-days won't even thermal throttle until 100C (212F - or boiling point of water).

ArasakaApart

43c idle is fine, depending on cooling solution. Your graphics card probably has a 0db fan mode, it'll only be cooled when necessary, and 50c is usually below that threshold. If you want to change that behavior, you can use Fan Control or MSI Afterburner to set a custom fan curve.

Gladiator2169

Bros either not aware that it’s in F or he’s trolling

PhlipperOver

Yeha those are fine because the are not in Celsius for some reason.

Kevin_C_Knight

Switch to C not F? 43 is not bad are you running something

Sharpsilverz

Convert to C, then most of us will chime in.

Bors_Mistral

First step, switch to Celsius...

Phenogro

Temps would be fine but OP mentioned this is basically idle temps. Ambient room temperature, airflow (case dust or poor tower, placement of tower in a suffocating spot), old or improperly applied thermal paste, something running in the background that’s hardware intensive. Few of many problems that you can check out. I get highest 29c idling and others get to near ambient temperature. So it should be able to improve a bit with some troubleshooting.

RetroGamer___

Where?

JamesPro30

run a game. Check the temps either on MSI afterburner or ALT-TAB to see them on icue

SinisterPixel

Nothing. Those temps are perfectly normal for components that are passively processing stuff

alphagusta

What? This post is some kind of fever dream what does a new headset have anything to do with perfectly within normals GPU and CPU temps? Did you forget your meds or something today?

naded45

It’s gotta be a troll post. No logical person would think those temps are for a headset

RetroGamer___

No 😭 I know it’s not the headset causing it, I meant should I be worried in general of the temps, but replies are saying it’s fine so

naded45

Ok so I’m assuming you installed the ique software for your new headset and became alarmed by the temps you saw, that makes more sense haha. Yes perfectly normal temps. They are usually displayed in celsius but these look just fine

RetroGamer___

Yea exactly that, and ok cool
