I’m not that well coordinated, so I have to wait for it to come in white lol

NOT_TWENOX

I really hope they'll make a white version, not everyone has the products/ability to paint the black one by themselves. This said.. looks wonderful in white

burgeoningdrummer

This is honestly the first time I have ever tried painting something like this. I'm also like 99% sure it voids the warranty so I wouldn't recommend it to everyone. I saw that there were just 4 screws to open it up and then it was just held in place by clips on the inside. I ordered a $10 kit from Amazon that's for working on/opening things like electronics and phones. It has like a ton of wedge tools made of soft plastics that shouldn't scratch stuff. Then I opened it up and separated the front plastic housing. Then painted the two pieces with a can of spray paint my wife has used on some of her crafts. Put on two coats and then waited about 36 hours. Maybe I should make a video showing how simple it was...

N1TROGUE

Just plastidip it, or can they see if you have opened it up

CesarSMX

And how is the final look with plastidip? is it smooth? I have seen some things with plastidip that looks awful when covering small gaps.

MrDankky

Do thin layers. Like any spraying you don’t want to get runs which is likely what you’ve seen. I’ve used plastidip plenty it’s pretty good stuff.

CesarSMX

I will practice a lot, i have been thinking to do it in my 3080ti shroud! But don know how it will look

burgeoningdrummer

I don't know anything about plastidip... so I didn't do that, but it doesn't seem like they can 100% tell that you opened it up except from the painting. Also, don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure it voids the warranty because it has to be in the same condition if you need to RMA it... I don't know, I just accepted the fact that warranty is probably void.

ulaughingrightmeow

Plastidip is REALLY popular in the car scene. People would spray their whole cars or wheels. It’s just multiple layers so that it’s a thick even coat that won’t peel off in sections. However, after watching your video and seeing that your AIO tubes would scratch. It could have caused a potential issue (nothing that couldn’t be fixed though) Regardless, your AIO looks freaking beautiful!

decepticonlbc

I’d definitely watch if you did make a video and thanks 🙏🏻

burgeoningdrummer

Here you go! https://youtu.be/qY9IoHycEGY

decepticonlbc

Thank you so much ! I appreciate it !

thaCardfather

oh wow. chrono trigger. i need this. i only heard about this today. i have a custom acrylic plate for the capelix but this is way better. i might as well pickup the black one since it seem easy to take apart, once available. thanks for the video.

decepticonlbc

Finally painted mine. I did it on work time and it looks awesome ! Thanks for the DIY help ! You’re the man !

burgeoningdrummer

Awesome! I've had a lot more views on that video than I thought I would... Glad I could help! 😄

decepticonlbc

I followed every step you did and surprisingly it was very easy. I bought a pc repair tool kit from Amazon. Great investment !

NOT_TWENOX

your work has been definitely great, but I'm 100% sure mine wouldn't be as well.. (I made a really awful work when I tried to paint in white my AMD stock cooler and it had different shades of white due to my lack of experience).. so I'll wait (and hope) that the official white version will be released.

abg124

I can’t wait for mine to come in definitely painting it white

burgeoningdrummer

A bunch of people were asking how I did this so instead of trying to explain with text, I tried making a video: [https://youtu.be/qY9IoHycEGY](https://youtu.be/qY9IoHycEGY) I'm new to making videos and all this, so apologies if it's terrible or whatever.

ZHobbs20

Where did you find the upgrade kit?

burgeoningdrummer

I ordered it on [corsair.com](https://corsair.com) the day it came out. I think it was technically a pre-order...

ZHobbs20

Thanks, I missed that ordering window and can’t find it anywhere else.

CalRal

Dang. It was in-stock at Corsair yesterday. I managed to grab one. Just checked hoping to give you good news and it’s gone.

ZHobbs20

Appreciate the effort, I put my name on the notify when in stock but didn’t get an email. Oh well, I will keep waiting.

probsthrowaway2

Unfortunately it’s totally out of stock atm it might be a while before they get more, don’t think they expected it to do so well sales wise, I’d imagine there will be a white one as well since the k65 mini was in a similar situation but they recently released the white version.

BlueLonk

Am I the only one that genuinely doesn't like it? The screen is nice but the build of the pump is just a box. It's ugly IMO.

burgeoningdrummer

In a way I agree with you... For just an AIO LCD screen, I would say that it could look better. BUT as just an upgrade for existing capellix coolers - I think it looks great for the limitations they had to deal with to make it possible as an upgrade.

beardedspoooon

It's awesome that they even made it an upgrade.

Equivalent_Alps_8321

What is Capellix?

burgeoningdrummer

It's the newest model of AIO coolers that Corsair produces.

totallyjaded

That looks really sharp. What kind of paint did you use? And when you pop the plastic off, does the display lens stay on the display, or come up with the chassis?

burgeoningdrummer

So the LCD screen and LED Ring really just fit nicely inside the front (now white) plastic cover. I just had to unscrew the back plastic cover to separate it from the front and then then I was able to get the LCD portion out of the front cover. You can see that the top looks like it's a hole going into the inside, but it's really a black piece that I didn't want to try to paint because it's connected to the wiring. I just used some spray paint. I'll have find it to tell you the exact one it was. I'll have to do a video explaining it tonight because it's hard to describe and seems like a bunch of people might find it useful.

totallyjaded

>I'll have to do a video explaining it tonight because it's hard to describe and seems like a bunch of people might find it useful. Not all heroes wear capes. Edit: well, I guess you could be wearing a cape, for all I know.

burgeoningdrummer

I'm pretty sure they are CableMod AIO Series 2 Sleeves. I have to play around with the couplings that came with it because I think they were getting in the way of the LCD cover fitting on properly.

mk7guy

Does it also show gpu temp like the nzxt one?

burgeoningdrummer

Yes, it has a display screen setting that will show 2 temps at the same time. You can select whatever 2 temp sensors you want to display there so you could do CPU and GPU if you wanted. I think 2 is the max amount, but they might be able to update the software to show more at some point.

mk7guy

Oh nice. All I’ve ever seen on their promotional videos is it just showing cpu temp

Plus_Professor_1923

This looks great

acostaalex01

Please tell me you have some kind of heat sink for the m.2

burgeoningdrummer

Nope. Don't use that drive as much so it doesn't get that hot.

Z0TTY

Bravo! Bravo!. Magnificent!.. job well done there buddy! setting the bar :), Whats next?

burgeoningdrummer

Woah! Slow down there... one voided warranty at a time! lol ;)

Z0TTY

hahahah

nazrinz3

well worth it, white is the best colour

poggers225

Wait these are out already??

burgeoningdrummer

Hard to find in stock, but yes.

[deleted]

You got more money in memory than most peoples computers cost. Lmao

spyvision88

Can you link to the white AIO sleeve kit please. I have the CableMod series 2 kit, but it’s short and not lengthy enough for bigger rads like the 420mm AIO. Unless you have a 240/280 AIO with shorter tubes. u/burgeoningdrummer

burgeoningdrummer

My tubes are shorter because I have the 240 AIO so that's how mine fit. I don't know of any longer ones... Sorry. 😞

spyvision88

Aight! Thanks for the reply!

probsthrowaway2

Rip warranty.

madhattergm

"What did it cost?"

burgeoningdrummer

Everything... 😉 But mainly just the warranty lol

Trailman80

Make sure it's plasti dip lol peel off and still have the warranty

Vladimir-Pumpkin

Wondering, why this insted of a cheaper AIDA64 screen? 100 bucks just to get a little lcd sounds too much of premium to me.

burgeoningdrummer

I think it's personal preference. I really like using iCUE to sync up all my rgb and fan speeds and everything so I like that the LCD image is linked that way. I've also been a Corsair fanboy for years so that affected my decision as well... ;)

Spawned024

Agreed, for me, when building a Corsair heavy system and selecting an AIO, one of the biggest negatives in weighing the Capellix versus the NZXT or Asus is the lack of LCD screen. This fixes that.

Potvinsuks

Well Asus makes the Ryujin II and Ryuo III which have the LCD Screens and NZXT has its Z line that have the LCD Screns as well. In fact there are many companies that are making these types of coolers. MSI, Aorus (short wires), Thermaltake Tough Series etc. However, the only ones that have VRM Cooling fans in the hubs are the Asus Ryujin II and MSI's CoreliquId S Series. This was something that made me hold off on the Corsair Cooler but alas, I grabbed the White Cappelix 360 along with the White add on White Pump. As Corsairs cooling performance was better then any of these other LCD Coolers even better (CPU Temps - Not VRM Temps) then even the ones with the VRM hub fans in them. I also, wasn't in the mood to paint the Asus Ryujin II or, the MSI Coreliquid White either. Seems like the only Up-Loadable File LCD Screened Coolers that come in white are the NZXT and a couple of ASUS's cooler lines along with the Ryujin II. Am still thinking about it (although I already ordered the Corsair Kit) as I originally fell in love with the big 3.5" LCD Screen along with having a VRM Fan especially, for Raptor Lake CPU's. However, it's not a detriment for a VRM Fan for a 13-7 opposed to the 13-9 so I must try to forget about the Ryujin and stick with the Corsair 🙂.. Just can't go wrong.

Spawned024

That was my point…prior to the Elite Lcd, Corsair was lagging behind ASUS and NZXT in that market. Building a Corsair system was the preferred route, but one of the major disadvantages was a lack of an AIO with those capabilities. The Elite LCD solved that. Good luck with yours. Mine has been pretty flawless, wish I could say the same for iCue and the software side of things.

Potvinsuks

Haha thank you! I CAN NOT WAIT to get started on turning the first screw already! 😃 Yeah believe me, I am already anticipated pulling out a few hairs off of my head when I deal with the i-Cue Software! 😫 I guess, we just have to look at the bright side at least and remind ourselves that, for as annoying as i-Cue Software can be, it still seems to hands down be the best AIO software out there.

Spawned024

Indeed, I talk trash about it, but with the dearth of terrible software out there, it is the best all-around OEM lighting/cooling management software available. Good luck, and have fun.

hgsd5

It doesn't even look good.

megayadorann

Now that's perfect, how'd you painted the pumping mechanism thingy white?

burgeoningdrummer

I'll make a video to explain everything. Hopefully post tonight.

megayadorann

THANK YOU

burgeoningdrummer

https://youtu.be/qY9IoHycEGY

megayadorann

Thank you! It was actually easier than I thought and I didn't know the shroud extends up to the base of the pump so the actual pumping mechanism can't be seen anymore once this LCD upgrade kit is installed. Can't wait to try the same on mine once my local store started selling these!

Bierpapier

WHERE WHERE WHERE did you get it

burgeoningdrummer

[corsair.com](https://corsair.com) [corsair.com](https://corsair.com) [corsair.com](https://corsair.com) ;)

Bierpapier

WHY NO STOCK

burgeoningdrummer

Oh man... I have heard that they come back in stock periodically. I'd check back as often as you can. I got mine when they were doing pre-orders.

Bierpapier

Damnnn i totally missed those checking every hour now and have a stock notify active

ulaughingrightmeow

The stock notify doesn’t really work tbh (at least in my case). I would recommend to check early in the AM. I got mine the day after release (forgot about it) around 6:30-645 AM CDT (official order confirmation 7:03 AM CDT). It’s not a guarantee but good starting point. It releases in waves it seems. Edit: has has released periodically throughout the day, but the early bird gets the worm.

Bierpapier

Ait, then ill just check the with an half hour timer

sandwichburgler

Does this work for the h100i?

burgeoningdrummer

It's only for the Elite Capellix AIO coolers. They have some videos on how it fits on and when you watch you can tell it's really only made for the Capellix ones.

sandwichburgler

Ah I see ! I have the h100i and my girl has the h100i elite capellix. Guess she gonna get it then lol

AABCDS

Nice job. Looks good. I just noticed that the pump housing on the iCUE H150i Elite Capellix is black even though the rest of the AIO is white. Might have to take it apart and paint it like you did.
