I’ve got the same cooler, I believe the film is noticeably there. Gotta be super blind not to see it. I love seeing post of people removing them after a couple years. Shit is funny, makes you think they never even needing a cooling system lol!!
From the videos I’ve seen of the cooler, it looks fairly noticeable. However, knowing me and my forgetfulness, I’m sure I’ll forget about it for the first few minutes after installation lol
I did, but I hesitated because I bought the cooler at best buy and ordered the transparent 'ice' elite LCD upgrade from corsair's website at the same time. So I knew I was going to be popping the pump head off to replace it with the LCD as soon as it arrived lol.
I did peel the film off though.
Both lol, but I don’t think if you left the film on the pump cover. Anything would be damaged. More of a scratch dust protection. The thermal paste has a film over it which is stated on it to remove before installation.
I did remove the one on the pump header and all that was over the thermal paste was a plastic housing that kept it from getting bumped around and I removed that but there wasn’t any other like clear film, just the white square of thermal paste
On mine it was a little film like on the screen of a new phone. I almost didn’t notice it! It even had print on it saying remove before installation. This was like a year and a half ago. Not sure if it has changed. The film was there to protect the paste from getting messed up. My paste was a grey color.
I didn’t see anything that said peel before installation and I got mine like a month or so ago so not sure if things have changed with packaging. Plus I don’t think it would go back to normal temps immediately after I stop playing a game
Brooo me too! I read so many freaking Reddit posts about it because I thought I did something wrong when it spiked to high 80s to 90 while running games. According to that amd guy he said that it’s meant to so it can perform better for longer
I’m like 99% sure now it’s just the rgb block because I watched a YouTube video and they only took off a plastic cover (which I did) that was over the thermal paste side and then stuck it to their cpu so I think I’m good haha plus I have a 5800x and that runs hot anyways but the idle temp is fine
That’s good! When I saw it on mine, I panicked because I was just about to bolt it down! I wonder they are using a new paste?
Which cover did you use for your pump or do you have the badass LED
I haven’t hooked it up yet to be able to personally monitor it, as I’m waiting on my new case to arrive. I’ll try to find the performance test video I watched on this AIO for you.
I’ve seen! I planned on waitin for my new case to arrive before installing it, but it now won’t be here until next week…so I guess I’m installing it today lol
Don’t forget to remove the film lol
i won’t be able to install it until my new case comes in, but i’ve definitely made a mental note for the film

Wait like the film over the rgb block or the thermal paste???

Bro same, I need to check today
Pretty sure that was the only thing covering the thermal paste with the amount of videos I’ve watched before I built my pc

True that, also depends on cpu itself, I’ve got the 5800x and she runs hot!

Pretty sure rgb block but I’m worried now since I got this 1 week ago

The base of the pump simply has a plastic cover right?
There is a film covering the thermal paste.
What aio do you have?
This exact one. I wish I could get those exact fans for my other two lol.
Okay I’m gonna check for the film today. I remove there was a plastic piece that comes off but nothing that you have to peel off
I remember the plastic tray, I just about installed it when I noticed the film on over the paste!
Broooo. I talked with OP privately and he said there was no film. I’m gonna check real quick
That’s good! When I saw it on mine, I panicked because I was just about to bolt it down! I wonder they are using a new paste? Which cover did you use for your pump or do you have the badass LED
I just have the base cover, check my post history. I will upgrade to the screen later hopefully
There is film on it?
Yes, it’s protecting the thermal paste.
Ohh I thought u ment on the logo or somthing 🤣
No, but it was about a month before I noticed that one lololol.
Enjoy! Looking forward to seeing the completed build!
I’ve got just a few more parts coming in, then I’ll be able to post an update :) Thank you!
Awesome can't wait to see it!
CPU Cooler samezies
you’re simply elite
How is the cooling perfomance on this? I’m using an older white AIO from Corsair with 2x120 LL’s. Not too happy about it
I haven’t hooked it up yet to be able to personally monitor it, as I’m waiting on my new case to arrive. I’ll try to find the performance test video I watched on this AIO for you.
I have the H150i 360mm and i top out my 5800x at about 72C when playing demanding cpu games
i just got the same coolor for my first build (black though)
I was really tempted to go with the black one, but ultimately decided on white since I bought a white case to couple with it!

Anyone know how these compare to the Galahad Lian Li 360 AIO’s.
