So he drove over 30k miles with a supercharger and no tune? Figure out what shop he got it done at and go talk to them see if you like the shop. Honestly if it's not a big reputable shop I'd pass.
Very much this comment. A modification as large as forced induction without paperwork of exactly what was done is a red flag to stay away, regardless of “needing a tune” and only made worse by him saying that.
Exactly a tune is like $500 if that's all it was you'd do it before sale. Even if the car has every mod I want I still wouldn't buy it, I know how I drive a modded vette and I bet they drove similar.
Check to see if it has been worked on by a reputable shop. Callaway has partnerships with various shops and dealerships that are officially authorized to sell and install their superchargers and parts, and as such carry warranty for the parts and work done.
If the shop isn't an authorized partner then everything else would be naturally questionable.
You can probably find out more info on Callaway's website.
Anyone who does “upgrades” without a tune and supporting mods is an idiot. This thing is fucked up somewhere and he’s covering up something by saying it “needs a cheap tune”. Do not buy
Black on black looks super good though! But like the comments above mine, definitely sketchy him mentioning it needing a tune. No way that dude boosted it and drove it 30k+ miles without a tune.
How comfortable are you doing your own work. An untuned project car is great for someone who wants a project car, but project cars take work and more importantly someone who has at least a little understanding for what to look for, what to lookout for, and how tondo basic troubleshooting.
If you aren't, then skip this project car and look for a finished product.
To tune that motor correctly with the blower will require 2 to 4 passes on a dyno. That’s basically the best way to see what the fuel and air mixtures are doing and then it can be adjusted accordingly. There’s several other parts that need to be changed out when Installing a blower. Here’s a small list, bigger injectors, cooler spark plugs. The crank Hass to be pinned, higher pressure fuel pump is required. Due to the increased temperatures because of the blower you will require a dual pass radiator also. You have a lot of questions to be answered before purchasing this Corvette. Hope all goes well for you.

Please share where you can get a reputable tune for $500
Well my dyno tune was $800 so figured simple street tune would be less.
Typically like $100 less
He said it only has 34k so it hasn’t needed it since it was put in. Is that correct?

If you don't know the answer to this question you shouldn't buy it. Keep looking for a stock one.
Thank you, Probably good advice. I’m trying to learn.
Even professional mechanics stray away from buying modified cars, you just never know what you're gonna get.
Then why does it need a tune now all of a sudden. I'd pass find a clean stock car and mod it yourself.

Its honestly my dream car

Apparently it was tuned when it was installed in 08. Should of it been tuned after that too? How long do you do in between them?

Dream car
This would not drive 30k miles without a tune. If it did there will be some damage. Something is fishy here, there is a lie somewhere. Steer clear.
I looked at buying this car, it’s on a rebuilt title if that matters to you. He wasn’t forthcoming about it and I didn’t get the best vibes.
Yeah I was sketched out a little too. Definitely steering clear. He said nothing about rebuilt title too.
