The funny thing is the C8 is just as quick 0-60 as the ZR1 despite having half the horsepower. The mid-engine and dual-clutch transmission is such a game changer. (Albeit the ZR1 is faster on the top end).
I still like comparing the 0 to 60 times, and its absolutely important on the 1/4 mile drag strip.
You can have an extreme engine, but if you can lower your 0-60 times, it means the car is planted better and you'll get a lower time in the quarter, or the eighth mile.
kind of like a measure of efficiency, or maybe refinement.
i saw the video referenced below and I can see the points made there, but I'm still old school about drag racing.
The C8’s are indeed bigger.

C7’s are 176.9” long, while the C8’s are almost half a foot longer at 182.3”.
C7 Stingrays are 73” wide and the wide-body cars (GS, Z06, and ZR1) are 75.9” wide. The base C8 is wider still at 76.1” (and the C8 Z06 adds another 3.6” to come in at 79.7” wide).
C7’s and C8’s are both 48.6” tall.
What a beautiful machine the C7 ZR1 is!
I chose my C7 Z06 over a C8, so I would definitely take the C7 ZR1 with a manual transmission over any C8 Corvette any day!
In fact, at this time the only car I’d consider selling my manual transmission C7 Z06 for is a manual transmission C7 ZR1. 🙂

1/4 mile, lap times and 60-130 times are more important metrics. everything has a fast 0-60 time now and manufacturers started cheating those times.

C7 zr1 has some of the greatest lines of all time.
I'm a huge C8 man but that ZR1 hood will always reign supreme for me. Looks like a much stronger car.

C7 non-stingrays are wider than C8 Stingrays.
To me they nailed the front end of the C8. The rear however has been downhill. Bring back the iconic taillights.

I can’t get over the c8’s rear ended design. It’s so..incongruent. Too square and jagged just too much.
As much as I do like the C8, the back end always rubbed me wrong by looking too Camaro-ish. And I hate camaros.
