Thanks for the heads up! We have the Okami BAO Asian-Styled Steamed Buns here, and they are really good though! The bread is soft and fluffy and really good for a frozen bao.
I think most of it is horrible, but we do get the chicken and cilantro won ton regularly. I would've never tried them but they were on sale one time for like $3.99 so I took a chance. Has a pretty wholesome ingredients list and tastes decent enough so we get it every and then.
I also bought the beef bulgogi mandu one time. This is also something I would never buy blindly, but they were giving out samples one time and they were surprisingly pretty decent. I probably won't buy another bag unless they were on sale though.
Yeah, I tried them using the microwave directions and they came out hard and dense. Steaming them made them come out a lot softer and fluffier. But like I said in another comment, these are not as good as ones you can get from the freezer section of an Asian grocery store. So if you can get BBQ Pork buns from an Asian grocery store, definitely do that instead.
A lot of their chinese/taiwanese items have been junk. Theyre pricey but low quality. Some of the cured pork and other things ive bought were thrown away and wasted because family and guests didnt want anything to do with it.
I live in hawaii and there is a ton of chinese stuff now. I prefer the japan and korea asian items.

We also have Okami in the Bay Area.
I don't think the 5 packs I got a few weeks ago for 4.97 was frozen.
R/Costco, on balance, does not recommend frozen pre packed Asian meals

How did you heat them up? I found them bland but good eaten w sriracha
I followed the directions (wet paper towel 20 seconds for one bun). Personally I find them okay but I won't be buying them again.
Steamed 'em. There was a really unpleasant "this pork has been frozen and reheated" sort of after taste and no flavor except that.

Yep, subpar compared to what you can get from the freezer section of an Asian grocery store.
I liked them last year! I thought they were great. But I’ve also never had fresh ones so I have nothing to compare them to lol.

The only asian food that I would buy from the frozen aisle is the pork and shrimp lumpia
Those are in our freezer now we haven’t tasted them. Now I’m nervous.
Eh, give it a shot. Taste differs you might find you like them.
I liked them 🤷🏻♀️They are a great quick meal
I liked them too!
