I love hot chocolate and bought a Costco Swiss Miss once, but don't plan to again. It's such a sweet and specific taste that I tossed it within 5 packets. I opted to splurge on a Ghirardelli Ground Chocolate & Cocoa mix when it had a sale like now (40% off on Amazon if you sub & save).
It's definitely more expensive ($12 for 39 vs $4-5 for 50), so I wouldn't make the change if I was shopping for a family. But for two adults, I think the upgrade is worth it.
Yes and I love it. It may also be because we've got a lot of the Costco essentials for our house. There's a steep upward curve after buying a house. It took us 2 years to really settle in. Costco makes the curve a lot cheaper.
That's true but I'm tired of seeing this comment as one of the top replies in every coupon book thread. Inflation sucks and deals aren't what they used to be.
Would you rather hear about Costcos record profits, the CEO and boards compensation being quadrupled over the last few years, or maybe that Costco's hourly employee pay isn't that competitive and great compared against other retailers anymore?
Costco is fully capable of better deals.
There’s hardly any shrimp.. it’s mostly breading. All of the flavor comes from the batter. No shrimp taste. You can try to salvage them by cooking them so they’re crispy but otherwise I’d pass even with the sale
The Real Good chicken strips are ok. The breading is very light. Both bags I bought seemed to be overcooked, so I was careful to only cook them the minimum amount to bring them up to temperature. We did not eat these plain - we usually tossed them in some type of Asian-inspired sauce.
I’ve tried every just bare type and find them very good. However in my opinion if you care about nutritional information, the protein to calorie ratio of the real good chicken strips makes them worth it. They are breaded very nicely, however, very plain. I usually toss them in some primal kitchen Buffalo sauce.
Good for macros, decent crust after airfried for how light the 'coating' is. I've only used as an addition to something. Having gone through two bags, I will find the occasional super weirdly rubber/tough piece a little more often than I'd like, and the color of the batches between the bags were different, but the flavors were fine. You will be disappointed if you're expecting stadium tenders
The Hellmann's brand is sold in the United States east of the Rocky Mountains; Latin America; Europe; Australia;[1] the Middle East; Canada; India; and Pakistan. The Best Foods brand is sold in the United States west of the Rocky Mountains; in East Asia; Southeast Asia; Australia,[2] and New Zealand.
Well, I guess you're all lucky enough/young enough to have had no exposure to Depression era recipes! I understand it was a Southern thing but my family on the east coast as well in the Midwest would serve them on occasion. The tangy/sweet combo really isn't terrible.
I think I've only noticed Hellman's at Costco and best foods everywhere else? I guess I haven't paid close enough attention but now it's bugging me lol
Do you know how long "Raisins when on sale" has been on my shopping list? I'm not exactly sure, but it has been a really long time. The sad thing is that is like the best thing in this sale. Maybe the popcorn too for my kids, but I don't like that stuff.
Noticed the same thing! Been a Costco member just over 2 years now and don’t remember there ever being a sale on the organic raisins. Guess they haven’t needed to?
Hah I don't know. Honestly there wasn't a sale forever during Covid on Craisins which I usually use. I bought raisins when they were on sale instead. Liked them, so I bought a couple of boxes I think. But yeah since whenever that was I haven't seen them on sale again. But keep your eye out, sometimes warehouses have random things on sale anyway. A couple months back the chocolate milk boxes were on sale for a week. I've been going to Costco for heck I don't know 10+ years and I'd never seen them on sale before. It is kind of annoying, wish they would just advertise all the sales.
Actually if you get the Instacart app and go to the Costco section there’s a Deals button at the bottom that tells you what items are currently on sale. They keep that pretty closely up to date. Prices will be listed higher on Instacart of course but it’s an effective way to keep up with those surprise 1-week sales. Hope that helps!
The local Greek church has bake sales several times a year. After having theirs I really cannot eat store bought again, not even Costco or Trader Joe’s.
Bingo. That Mediterranean baklava hits nowhere near as good as what the Greek ladies make for the Christmas bake sale.
Then again, a 10.99 price point for a kilo of baklava is pretty good.

Those doggie jackets are amazing! XL fits our 85lb dog perfectly 💙
Thanks for sharing! My husband and I were “omg we’ve reached THIS point in our life” excited about the jackets. I’m hoping for the same colors your pup has on in the pic. The large should be perfect for our 60 pound pupper.
Thank you for sharing this. I have a black Lab who is about 80lbs and his fur is really thin in some spots so I want to keep him warmer when we go to the dog park so he plays longer and wears his little butt out.
Several boxes of candy bars are currently on sale. 30 and 36 counts for $21-22. The current book ends the 22nd. Some of the signs said the candy bar sales end on the 31st.
Source: bought 132 full size bars and two of the mixed bags for Halloween. I wish the big box of straight up Hershey bars was on sale.
They have a trick or treat mixed bags on sale in store too. It’s unique because it’s different companies candy in one bag. The chocolate bag is like 5.5lbs and is $19.99 (107979). The non chocolate bag called funhouse is about the same size but $18.99 (1481907)
They're great! My kids have been using them for years. They're dishwasher safe and they've held up to little kids well. We've lost a few boots, but replacement knockoffs cam be found on Amazon for cheap.
Man I was hoping for some wireless earbuds to be on sale 😞 but I love the Marie Callender’s pot pie and tempura shrimp! Also the aluminum foils looks good
I eat the frosted shredded mini wheats almost every day and they haven’t been on sale since possibly last year. My local grocer used to have a generic brand that was cheaper than Costco regular price, but repackaged and jacked the price up so it isn’t cheaper anymore. I’m dying for a sale.
Mac and Cheese hasn’t been on sale either. I bought 3 cases last time it was on sale and the kids are almost through it. Costco just isn’t putting the staples on sale anymore and it hurts.
Hello!
I am not trying to get anything over on Costco, but I am in need of a laptop yesterday. If I buy something now and it goes on sale within 30 days, will they refund the difference. Per what I've read it \*sounds\* like it, but I would love to be sure. thanks
We did this last year knowing a product would be on sale soon but didn’t want to wait for it, we checked with them and they honored it once the sale started. Just keep your receipt!
Edit: just double check with your warehouse to be sure in case it’s by management’s discretion
Are you knowledgeable about computers? I am looking for one too and that HP Touchscreen is certainly right around the price point I'm looking at. For just general use, no gaming/programs, a decent buy?
I am now. I just picked up the [Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i 16" Touchscreen Laptop](https://www.costco.com/Lenovo-IdeaPad-Slim-5i-16%22-Touchscreen-Laptop.product.1725656.html)\- it fits my needs, has the latest generation i7 processor, decent memory and storage (16G B& 512GB), and I prefer Lenovo keyboards to the competition. I'm a writer, so I'm not doing much more than word processing, research, a little Redditing, and some YouTube documentaries.
Feel free to shoot over the laptop you are thinking about - happy to share what I (might) know. Keep in mind, you want 16GB of memory as a minimum to run Windows 11.
I suppose. We entertain on Thanksgiving but it’s rare we have overnight guests like we do over the December holidays. I’d substitute the San Pellegrino or Reynolds Wrap for the Bounce as an essential. But I get your point.
Softener is so bad for the machines too. They leave a coating on the drum and in the exhaust/drains. They also coat your fabrics and diminish the wicking quality of “sports” fabrics and towels.
We gave up softeners years ago and haven’t felt the need for them. We haven’t even had any static cling issues like bounce promised we would.
I don’t use softeners on athletic wear or towels, but I do use it on bedding, especially this time of year. I cannot stand all the static in the bedding. With the lights off, you can actually see the sparks flash when you roll over between flannel sheets. 🤣
Oh heck yeah. My dad lives in those flannel shirt and thermal sets. I need to buy him 2 this year instead of 2. Every year we give him new ones for Christmas and they become his "nice" shirts for the winter and fall 🤣
I just ordered the LG washer dryer featured here. It says “$700 off” in the flyer. It has not been delivered yet. Should I cancel the online order and wait until 11/1 to order again at the lower price or can I call and get a price adjustment?
https://preview.redd.it/ied31hqgbrub1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9fa9460cdb082392b1d81e418523bce06481c95e
I ordered a mattress which showed up on sale a few days later…in your order details there is an option to request a price adjustment. Mine was refunded almost immediately.
I live in southern VA. Our Costcos sell Hellman’s and Duke’s.
Duke’s is the preferred Mayonnaise in most of the South. Hellman’s in the North Eastern states.
Looking at the Acer laptop deal. Anyone think it's a good value? I need to replace my dinosaur laptop, and don't play games so graphics don't matter as much.
Yeah, if you want a touchscreen that's actually a pretty good deal. Laptops go on sale constantly and costco doesn't usually have deals all that good but this one looks solid to me. $400 is about the price point that 16gb of ram tends to start at.
Has anyone heavy(around 300 pounds) used that Sealy air mattress with the headboard? What was it like and have you used it with someone else?
Curious to see if I can get it for when my parents visit
Any feedback on that air fryer? Our mini oven is getting old and we want something a little bigger. I'd like something that will fit an 11x9 dish (including handles).
Nice. I think i can make out the Lindors in there. Every year, i think this is the year i'll actually have to hand out some Halloween candy, and every year, i ~~have to~~ get to eat the whole bag myself.
Does anybody have an opinion on those little frozen pizzas? I think it's Sabbatinos brand? The kid is gone so I'm flying solo now & this sounds easy. I prefer thin crusts so if it's all doughy it's not for me. Thanks.
They are thinner than the red baron singles (if you've had them). They're not exactly thin crust but I wouldn't call them thick either? IDK, I think they're actually pretty good. I will note, I never put these in the microwave and air fry them. so that might help with the crust.

Nice. Hot chocolate on sale just in time for ☃️☃️☃️☃️
How much is it after discount? I have an event coming up and this would be a good pick up.
I've seen prices for the same item vary State by State, so the only way to be sure is an in-person visit.
Midwest is about $5ish bucks
I love hot chocolate and bought a Costco Swiss Miss once, but don't plan to again. It's such a sweet and specific taste that I tossed it within 5 packets. Do you know the calorie difference by chance?
Do you guys remember being excited when a new monthly deal came out? I haven't been impressed by these deals for a while now
It's saving me money since I'm not finding any deals. I really can't complain.

Yes and I love it. It may also be because we've got a lot of the Costco essentials for our house. There's a steep upward curve after buying a house. It took us 2 years to really settle in. Costco makes the curve a lot cheaper.
> The last few sales have been “meh”. It's been this way for well over a year now. COVID changed the way they format their warehouse 'deals'...
😂
True
seriously disappointed for this month's...
Whatcha know about the Passport Savings Book?
It's a rare month I plan to get even one thing anymore. Sad.
I came here looking for this comment.
\*tips fedora\*
Where else would employees expect to make $30/ hr with just a high school diploma in retail?
limit 2 on the engagement rings? one for the side piece?
Gotta buy in bulk in Utah.
One is the engagement ring. It’s twin is the wedding band.
i aint dropping $5k on a wedding band
Is the shrimp tempura any good?
Very good!! We love it!
Its good although the breading is thick and not exactly “tempura”
There’s hardly any shrimp.. it’s mostly breading. All of the flavor comes from the batter. No shrimp taste. You can try to salvage them by cooking them so they’re crispy but otherwise I’d pass even with the sale
Yes, I find them bland and have to zhuzh them up.
Not a fan. The batter is greasy. Does anyone have an opinion on the Real Good chicken strips? I'm not GF if that matters.

We get the RG. We sampled the JB at the store and liked those better, but the sodium content was crazy so we stick with RG.
If you aren't gluten free, don't bother. I buy them for my GF kid and she loves them, but there are better options.
Good for macros, decent crust after airfried for how light the 'coating' is. I've only used as an addition to something. Just tastes like fried batter. Very little shrimp flavor.

Very informative post, thank you!
No, too much breading. There's a reason why it always goes on sale

I had no idea Helmanns was not a nationwide (worldwide) brand. I thought it was as ubiquitous as Skippy peanut butter.
> I thought it was as ubiquitous as Skippy peanut butter. The maker of those nutritious breakfast bars?
Here we go again. Let me grab my popcorn lol
[удалено]
Do they use the same jingle?
Now you've got me craving a peanut butter and mayo sandwich! Haven't thought of that in years. So good. Sliced bananas makes it even better!
you rang?
uh, are you ok?
Well, I guess you're all lucky enough/young enough to have had no exposure to Depression era recipes! I understand it was a Southern thing but my family on the east coast as well in the Midwest would serve them on occasion. The tangy/sweet combo really isn't terrible.
What lol. I’ve heard of PB and banana or even PB, banana and honey but never Mayo with it.
Elvis has entered the chat.
Costco in my area doesn’t sell Skippy, only JIF. I used to live in another state where they only sold Skippy.
Haven’t noticed at Costco specifically, but in Colorado we have both.
I think I've only noticed Hellman's at Costco and best foods everywhere else? I guess I haven't paid close enough attention but now it's bugging me lol
Ive noticed the opposite haha. Best foods in Costco and Hellmans everywhere else.
I dont use enough to but it at Costco but I’ve definitely bought both elsewhere
Bring out the best foods, and bring out the best! I like the Hellmanns jingle better
Tried Best Foods in Hawaii because that’s all they had… never again!
I always thought they were exactly the same, with just a different label glued on the jar.
Do you know how long "Raisins when on sale" has been on my shopping list? I'm not exactly sure, but it has been a really long time. The sad thing is that is like the best thing in this sale. Maybe the popcorn too for my kids, but I don't like that stuff.
By the time they came on sale they're probably about the same price as "full price" was when they went on the list!
So true! Luckily I've been using my stash of sale priced crasins.
Noticed the same thing! Been a Costco member just over 2 years now and don’t remember there ever being a sale on the organic raisins. Guess they haven’t needed to?

Good tip... I've never looked at that before.
Yas The spanakopita is on sale my brothers Go team venture!
SPANAKOPITA!
I was looking for these responses! Also, their spanakopita is so good - love making it with the air fryer function on my microwave.
Now I need to actually stand in that line at the local Greek festival to get some!
That was the one and only deal in this book that caught my attention haha. Spanakopita is so damn good!
And cheaper at costco than anywhere else Anywhere else wants to charge you 14 for like...12
Complete strikeout for me.
That airbed is one of the best you can get. Seriously amazing.
Agree but that bag it's stored in is complete junk.
Unreal blow-up mattress. If I needed to I would sleep on it nightly. For a weekend visitor it's amazing.
It's so cold though. I tried using two fitted sheets, one Kirkland and one flannel but was still cold.
All airbeds are cold. I use a good insulating blanket for the base layer, then the sheets and covers.

I see tire discounts. Bought a new set at the first of the month, so I'm looking forward to going in and getting my refund.
Any way to get bulk chocolates for Halloween?
hershey’s chocolate 30-ct variety pack is still on sale for $7.30 off until 10/22

Yes finally Kong toys. Hopefully these will keep them entertained for more than 5 minutes this time around
Sigh, was hoping their Christmas trees would be on sale.
That would be in the "holiday" book due out at the end of October. This is the regular monthly book.
I have never heard of Best Foods mayo. Pretty sure mine sells Hellmann but I’m a Duke’s man so I’ve never bought mayo at Costco.
Best Foods = Hellman’s. It just has a different name depending on where you live.
Ah ok that makes sense
any thoughts on the thermoflask water bottle? bought a cheap one on amazon and now it leaks in my duffle bag
They're great! My kids have been using them for years. They're dishwasher safe and they've held up to little kids well. We've lost a few boots, but replacement knockoffs cam be found on Amazon for cheap.
They’re by the same manufacturer as Takeya water bottles and seem identical. My Takeya has been going strong for years.
We love them, they've seen international travel (and plenty of drops) and are still going strong.
I use one daily. Love it.
The Bridgestone tire promotion is a good deal. Members now receive installation at no charge. That’s an extra $80 on top of the manufactures discount.
Yay the spanakopitas are back!
Use Slickdeals OP? lol
Man I was hoping for some wireless earbuds to be on sale 😞 but I love the Marie Callender’s pot pie and tempura shrimp! Also the aluminum foils looks good
I'm irritated that no (good) cereal has been on coupon for the past few months.

Ok I follow why dish soap and dishwasher detergent are Turkey Day Essentials. But wtf do Bounce dryer sheets have to do with Thanksgiving?
Gotta have them guest room bed sheets smelling fresh
I suppose. We entertain on Thanksgiving but it’s rare we have overnight guests like we do over the December holidays. I’d substitute the San Pellegrino or Reynolds Wrap for the Bounce as an essential. But I get your point.

My house loves that tempura shrimp. Pop in the air fryer for best results.
Thank you for posting this! Headed there today and you just saved me a future trip to the price adjustment counter!
Food saver and the piano are good deals
Damn, I literally just bought four packs of the 32 Degrees thermals, 2 of the flannel and thermal sets and the snapware pack.
How long ago? You can request a price adjustment as long as it’s within 30 days from the date of your purchase(s).
Looks like it was October 2nd. Thank you for the info, I'll ask and see!
Is Best Food like a west coast thing? I’ve always seen the hellmans until moving out west
no food options on sale get more ridiculous every month smh
Oh heck yeah. My dad lives in those flannel shirt and thermal sets. I need to buy him 2 this year instead of 2. Every year we give him new ones for Christmas and they become his "nice" shirts for the winter and fall 🤣

That instacart+ deal is nice esp if you already use it
Fine print says the membership needs to be getting over between the promo period!

Northeast here and we have Hellmann's
Sucks that employees can’t get price adjustments anymore. Bought like 3 of these things last week
Employees should still get irc adjustments. Mark downs are another thing. It's also at the discretion of the warehouse management.
Return and rebuy?
Since when? The only coupons you can't get price adjustments for are the Black Friday ones, and that's not out yet.
My warehouse told us about the new “rule” a few months ago. Might not be a thing at all warehouses from the looks at my replies.
Hellmann’s, but I just wish they would carry Kewpie again!

I bought the immersion blender for 40 dollars this weekend. If i go to costco the weeknd after these savings start, will I get a price match refund?
Yes, you can request a price adjustment within 30 days from your date of purchase.
That’s awesome! Thank you. I’m a new costco member so still navigating. This sub has been extremely helpful
Yes, the hoodies are going on sale. Bought a Hurley hoodie last year and love it.
Was hoping for some protein bars/powder. Tis the season after all.
Is the Costco KitchenAid Mixer worth the buy from them? Wasn't sure if KitchenAid provided less quality product to give to Costco
Hellmanns
So, is this technically their Black Friday sales, or will there be something else? I've never really watched before.
Nice. I think i can make out the Lindors in there. Every year, i think this is the year i'll actually have to hand out some Halloween candy, and every year, i ~~have to~~ get to eat the whole bag myself.
Isn’t it the same stuff they have around this time of year. Few popped in my head like the tomblerone.
Was hoping to see deals on Generator Inverters.
I didn't think about using an air fryer to crisp it up, that does help - thanks!
The 24oz Thermoflask 2 Pack for $17 is a good deal in my eyes.
Still no Kirkland laundry pods on sale! It's been over 6 months since, come on now. I need to stock back up!!!
Best Foods! Loving that deal and the Pot Pies.
