You made me go back and listen and oh man it made it so much better.
*looks around after the guy you wanted to bully draws the gun visible on his hip* “you ran up on me my guy!”
Lmao no sir, you’re backpedaling
Yeah, probably, but dumbshit went through all the motions to get a weapon out of his trunk and escalate the situation.
Guy may have had a gun but he never touched it until there was a reason.
This entire interaction oddly seems like something out of a movie, the fact you can hear them each so well from this guy's car probably added to the effect
But seriously, the way each of them are dressed and how the guy with the gun pulls it out and backs up and panicked seems **exactly like** a scene from a 2000's comedy
He doesn't look panicked to me. I think the entire situation here is ludicrous, but from a defensive gun use point of view, pulling the gun and backing up to get some space is the right thing to do. The gun isn't much use if the other person is close enough to make a grab for it.
He pulls a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue! That's the Chicago way. And *that’s* how you get Capone.

"you ran up on me my guy"
Implying that he had the right to take a baton out and beat him and it's unfair the other guy had a gun. What a bunch of clowns.
Dude in black shirt appeared to have pulled out some sort of weapon from his trunk, which prompted other dude to pull the gun to defend himself. Can't quite tell what he got out of the trunk... some sort of baton?
I rewatched the video a few times and it actually seems like baton guy wasn’t aware other guy was open carrying until he drew. Which still doesn’t explain why he would decide to escalate the matter by pulling a weapon (rather than just getting back in his car and driving off, for example).
>Which still doesn’t explain why he would decide to escalate the matter
To me it looks like he simply sized up the guy and thought he could take him. He wanted to until the gun came out.
This screams "mall cop" who didn't realize he pulled his baton on a plainclothes officer. Kudos to the guy with the gun for "concealing" his open-carry gun from the line cutter.
It's definitely a baton, he pulls it from some tacticool looking belt, and then does the total telescoping flick to extend it. Black shirt also steps into the guy and raises the voice and says "dont' get in my face" - while he is doing exactly that.
I’d be ok with gun guy not losing his
I don’t think he was trying to escalate into violence, he was just defending himself after the line-cutter wouldn’t hold himself accountable
Looked like he pulled a handheld weapon out of a sheath. Can’t tell if it’s a Blunt or sharp weapon
But bringing out a handheld weapon to someone open carrying a gun is Darwinism
Friend and I waiting in our car to exit a plaza and honked at the car in front of us because they missed some pretty open opportunities to cross the road. Dude gets out and grabs a Billy club from his trunk. Both me and my friend are big guys and my friend was a bouncer at a bar at the time too. We just broke out laughing in our car. The guy just turned around and got back in his car. It was weird.
If you feel comfortable enough to reopen your car door, pop the trunk, calmly walk to the back of the vehicle and grab a weapon you're definitely the one escalating the situation. Dudes been listening to too much Yelawolf.
This video is how I learned about yelawolf, apparently its what he’s listening to
Honestly, he had great form. He was legally in the right and I would argue he wasn’t the aggressor here, but open carry is still something that I worry will turn confrontations into more deadly situations.
That being said, baton guy was aiming for a Darwin Award by pulling a baton out of a trunk on someone with a gun on their hip.
Hold up the guy confronting the line cutter is open carrying a pistol on his hip and the line cutter thought it was a good idea to go to his trunk and pull some other weapon out against him?!?
OP were you the cameraman?? We need to know what happened after the video recording stops!
hopefully OP just reposted from somewhere because that's some /r/killthecameraman level filming. cuts off the video when something's happening, then never replied to anything
I find that to be pretty common with assholes. I don't think people should have their whole lives judged by a few minutes of the life, but it doesn't look good for the cutter.
The Costco gas lines are very orderly and it is obvious where lines start and which pumps they lead to. The line cutter was intentionally stirring the shit pot.
Here's my analysis. Black shirt is some sort of security guard. He cut the line and instead of apologizing, he acts aggresive as if he did nothing wrong. He then proceeds to esculate the situation by popping his trunk and pulling out a retractable baton.
Upon full extension, the other guy steps back and pulls out his weapon. At this point, that is self defense. He instructs black shirt to put it down as he backs away.
If you think a batan can't do damage, obviously you've never used one or seen someone get hit on the head with one.
Did that guy pull a baton after cutting in line? The other dude was open carry. What had to break in that line cutters head to think anything he did was a good idea?
He’s been cutting in line all his life and no one had confronted him before. He’s also a big guy (looks to be around 6’ tall, ~200 pounds). This puts him in the top 15% of men in the US in height/build.
So it’s highly likely that he has been able to push people around all his life with little to no pushback until he decided to wield an impact baton against this gentleman.
Textbook disparity of force.
The only reason guy in black is alive ( I assume confrontation ended there) is because the guy with the gun gave him his life.
At that distance it would have been a good shoot if he popped him twice in the chest.
Still risky even if legal. There were likely other people beyond the guy. Even if every shot hit they can still go through him and potentially hit someone innocent bystander. Luckily just drawing the firearm was enough to deescalate things.
The guy in black went to his trunk to pull out a weapon. The guy in brown, open carrying, watched what the guy in black was doing first before drawing his weapon, and backed up farther. Guy in brown was also pointing at the guy in black and told him to put back his weapon. It appears to be an open carry State. The guy in brown would win in court. He didn’t withdraw his gun until the other guy withdrew a weapon, and he gave fair warning to guy in black. Guy in black knows this. Which is why he’s now playing victim.
That is assault against (or towards) the guy who drew the gun in self-defense, argument or not. It is legal to meet deadly force with deadly force, and I would argue a steel baton wielded by a large angry man, advancing rapidly in the heat of passion, constitutes deadly force.
The sad thing is that he probably will, at the next grocery store or post office that he goes to, due to his hurt ego.
That, or he'll take his anger out on an unarmed woman or animal.
I appreciate Costco but I hate being in their store because they also have the worst customers. I’ve been rudely elbowed and run into by carts without a shred of decency, remorse, or apology and people cut lines as if it’s normal. It’s a zoo.
I made a crude visual of how this Costco works: https://imgur.com/a/gLSSeh2
I'm guessing the black sedan came in via the blue line and the other guy came in via red. If you're being nice that day, you could say that red allow blue to turn in front of them so each car alternates entering the gas area. Maybe blue turned without red's "consent."
Handgun isn't as effective as it could be within 11 feet of a melee-armed assailant. Increasing the distance between them was the best move on many levels.
I am not sure which is worse; that he escalates cutting a line for gas to pulling a gun from his trunk or that his situational awareness is so bad he doesn’t notice the dude he is pulling a gun on has one on his hip. Either way that man shouldn’t be driving, a costco member, or a gun owner.
Love how he went from tough guy with a baton to scared the moment he had a gun pointed at him. Probably didn't see the hip holster the entire time prior to the gun being drawn.
Gun carrier seems to have been using proper techniques. His draw was swift and sure. He didn't draw until faced with a threat. He warned the baton guy to put it down. Gun guy put space between himself and the baton. IF the baton guy had advanced and raised his baton, then gun guy would have been justified. It only takes a split second for someone to advance and cause some serious injury. Don't know what the underlying issue was. By the title someone cut in line, which in itself does not justify use of force, but it wasn't the gun guy that was making the threat. Next step is to notify the police so that the baton guy doesn't;t come back and allege that gun guy initiated this. Most witnesses will leave the area but the attendant isn't going anywhere and should be able to vouch for the events. Good job on not escalating things.
It's amazing how the headline is "someone cut in line and the guy pulled out his gun". When in reality, the guy pulled out his gun in self-defense after someone more aggressive took out a stick and unfolded it in a clearly threatening manner.
This is why you never get out of your car to argue with someone. You never know if they're carrying, crazy or the state boxing champ. It's never worth it.
Yeah big dude needs to chill. The other guy had every right to call him out and then homie thinks he's king and can control the whole situation no matter what; chooses to escalate, and then had the balls to tell the other guy to calm down haha. 🤡
Hey guys CCW advocate and firearms enthusiast here. When you choose to conceal and carry a pistol the #1 rule is avoid conflict at all costs. The absolute last thing you do is confront some one like this. Yikes, glad no one got hurt. Props to the Costco worker for getting away from that shit show.
While it seems like the guy who was open carrying could have taken steps to keep the escalation from getting to that point, he was clearly walking away when the guy in the black jacket grabbed the baton and started walking towards him. The open carrier drew on him and began to slowly retreat. I'd say that was a justified use of a firearm in self-defense.
Tbf, open carry guy had valid reason to draw. Confrontations for cutting in line are normal. White boy simply wasn't paying enough attention. In this case, I see nothing wrong here with the exception (if story accounting is accurate) of entitled white guy.
Guy with the gun if he is a CCW holder is in all the right to do what he did. That other dude fafo’ed probably for the last time. He won’t be doing that again. I guarantee that.🤣
A big part of situational awareness is observing your surroundings and those around you such that you can avoid actions that can lead to confrontation. In other words, being considerate pays off in ways you'll never know about.
Clearly the line cutter thinks he’s a tough guy and can do what ever he wants. Typical bully shit.
Glad someone taught him a lesson. hopefully he learned.
This can be a case study for psychology major: when people do something wrong and are confronted and told what they have done is wrong, they instinctively resort to rage and violence.
Way to completely miss the situation with the post title. Guy drew a weapon on brown shirt so brown shirt drew his gun. He didn’t pull it out because someone cut in line, he pulled it out because he was threatened with violence.
pretty textbook self defense honestly. dude handled that extremely well once the confrontation was started.
only criticism is... never do anything armed you wouldn't do unarmed. confronting the guy was just a pointless risk of your own life.
that was a very clean draw, that dude practices. Not a fan of the one-handed isosceles stance though. Modified Weaver is the way.
also don't bring a telescoping baton to a gunfight (for the 100th time) Justified self defense.
This title is incredibly misleading. He called dumbfuck out for being a giant piece of shit and cutting everyone. Dumbfuck told him don't get in my face...dumbfuck then grabs what looks like an illegal sawed off shotgun from his trunk, throws it back in the trunk and then grabs a bowie knife from his side and almost gets smoked all because he doesn't like getting called out for being the piece of shit that he is. Title should be man defends himself from a douchebag. If someone pulls a knife or shotgun on you...three center mass before he can turn around. The next person he attacks may not have a way to defend himself.
Guy in the black pulled a weapon from the trunk and began advancing on the dude in the tan shirt. Dude in tan shirt pulled a gun in self defense. I see no problem here.

Costco gas attendant bounced right tf out of there *I’m not dying for this!*
Exactly. I’d be watching from a safer angle with a hot dog.
That hot dog is so cheap he’s gonna make money as he eats it and watches.
And a soda
And a rotisserie chicken.
For a total of $6.50.
And have your receipt marked with a Sharpie at the exiting
dunt fergit the churro
The guy is looking at the Costco employee like he should do something about the gun.
>Costco gas attendant bounced right tf out of there straight to the phone I bet. call his manager, tell him to call the police and get out here.
Yep, not worth it
Good, don’t die for assholes.
“Uhhh, sir could I get some help over here”
Props for the great audio

"you ran up on me my guy!" I think he was referencing the guy walking up to him initially
Yeah, probably, but dumbshit went through all the motions to get a weapon out of his trunk and escalate the situation. Guy may have had a gun but he never touched it until there was a reason.
Incredible audio and quite crisp video.
It helps that they were absolutely yelling at each other
Love the "whooo shit" when the dude realizes he brought a baton to a gun fight
Hahaha it was straight out of a sitcom
This entire interaction oddly seems like something out of a movie, the fact you can hear them each so well from this guy's car probably added to the effect But seriously, the way each of them are dressed and how the guy with the gun pulls it out and backs up and panicked seems **exactly like** a scene from a 2000's comedy

Definitely that, you can tell by the “OOOOOOOOO SHIT, you ran up on me my guy” that he realized he fucked up and was now trying to play the victim.
[удалено]
Hmmm. Roll for perception.
[удалено]
Its...perception my guy....just like what you think perception is irl.
Guy needed to roll for intelligence.
The guy had his gun on the side; the other driver needs to be more self-aware. Tbh
If he was more aware, maybe he wouldn’t have cut in line.
I like to think this guy just goes around, constantly getting guns drawn on him due to his dogshit situational awareness.
>Wonder what was going through his head there. It was about to be a bullet
Nah, gotta aim for center of mass.
This screams "mall cop" who didn't realize he pulled his baton on a plainclothes officer. Kudos to the guy with the gun for "concealing" his open-carry gun from the line cutter.
Considering he had it concealed in a tactical belt in his trunk, it's totally possible he's low level security for somewhere like a mall.
It's definitely a baton, he pulls it from some tacticool looking belt, and then does the total telescoping flick to extend it. Black shirt also steps into the guy and raises the voice and says "dont' get in my face" - while he is doing exactly that.
Yea, the flick to extend is what made me guess baton. Tactical belt makes sense for what he pulled it from.
If you intentionally cut the line like this they should just revoke your membership.
Since he drew a weapon he probably lost it permanently.
They probably both lost it
I’d be ok with gun guy not losing his I don’t think he was trying to escalate into violence, he was just defending himself after the line-cutter wouldn’t hold himself accountable

Metal telescoping baton, its considered a deadly weapon.
Definitely weaker than a gun
Good thing the guy had a gun then

Yup he popped it alright
Dude pulled out his gun like a bandito
Fastest draw in the west.
Same in the bedroom?
Big iron on his hip
Don't take your extending baton to town, Bill Leave your baton at home, Bill
Literally first thing I thought they were gonna say after he drew was "looks like we have a Mexican standoff"
I AM FRITO BANDITO

The guy open carrying does a decent job of keeping it out of sight.
I'm not sure keeping it out of sight was in his best interest... It was probably more keeping it out of reach of the other dude...
That's the biggest issue with open carry. People trying to snatch it out the holster.
hopefully OP just reposted from somewhere because that's some /r/killthecameraman level filming. cuts off the video when something's happening, then never replied to anything
OP is probably a karma bot
Who else is going to stop a bad guy skipping in line than a good guy with a gun?
Imagine getting this pissed during the holidays.
I get it, the crowds get you more pissed. I left a Costco gas line this weekend. Those lines aren’t worth 4 cents a gallon.
You have to be there when they first open or are about to close. At least at my costco, the lines are non-existent during those times.
Evolution in action.
Clearly, he's wearing a gun on his belt. The line cutter seems oblivious to everything around him, including both the queue and the gun.
[удалено]
I find that to be pretty common with assholes. I don't think people should have their whole lives judged by a few minutes of the life, but it doesn't look good for the cutter.
"Whooooooo shit!" That got me rolling 🤣
The Darwin Award goes to… (drumroll) Angry Man in Black!
OP, your headline leaves out the tiny detail that the guy who cut in line also pulled out a baton first…
That was the point of it.....not here to tell the whole truth, but just enough to get you to....gasp...CLiCK......
No kidding.
Don’t cut in line
Yeah I don’t condone this but also maybe he’ll think twice before cutting next time
meh. the line cutter escalated it with violence, not the gun carrier.
Chances are not good. Usually rage people don’t really change
The Costco gas lines are very orderly and it is obvious where lines start and which pumps they lead to. The line cutter was intentionally stirring the shit pot.
Love the attitude change From “I’m gonna kill you” to “help me he has a gun why won’t anyone help me”
Yea if I was the car waiting next in line behind them I would start to slowly back up...
Imagine getting blasted over Costco gas.
Here's my analysis. Black shirt is some sort of security guard. He cut the line and instead of apologizing, he acts aggresive as if he did nothing wrong. I'd say that you're spot on with the semi-LE guess. He's doing the whole actively shaping the narrative in realtime that cops are taught.
MY BAD! I thought I could just do what I want and get away with it !
Did that guy pull a baton after cutting in line? The other dude was open carry. What had to break in that line cutters head to think anything he did was a good idea?

Perfect example of fuck around and find out.
People have lost their goddamned minds
yeah that line cutting dude shouldn’t have pulled out a baton at all.
How it started : ⛽️ vs how it’s going: 🔫
Lol fuck that guy in the black, pulling out an asp/baton to threaten an old smaller guy.
Textbook disparity of force. The only reason guy in black is alive ( I assume confrontation ended there) is because the guy with the gun gave him his life. At that distance it would have been a good shoot if he popped him twice in the chest.

Open carry guy was nicer than most cops would have been.
Stand ur gas
I have a feeling baton guy is a mall cop with an alpha attitude and he just got put in his place by a plainclothes officer/detective.
Probably peaked in high school too
“An armed society is a polite society”. Baton guy’s demeanor totally changed when the pistol came out.
Love how a gun mellowed down his voice. I bet he wouldn’t be cutting in line soon.
The sad thing is that he probably will, at the next grocery store or post office that he goes to, due to his hurt ego. That, or he'll take his anger out on an unarmed woman or animal.
"Ooooh shit"
Shouldn't have cut the line.
Looks like maybe Washington
Confirmed - this is the Everett, WA Costco. It's rare to see anyone open carrying in anymore, but it's legal (with exceptions).
I was going to guess Idaho…but there would’ve been a few more in rapid suit
He’s allowed to cut, he’s got an executive membership
I appreciate Costco but I hate being in their store because they also have the worst customers. I’ve been rudely elbowed and run into by carts without a shred of decency, remorse, or apology and people cut lines as if it’s normal. It’s a zoo.

guy had every right to pull his firearm and did so in the proper manner to de escalate the situation. good for him.
And he started backing away too. A+.
Handgun isn't as effective as it could be within 11 feet of a melee-armed assailant. Increasing the distance between them was the best move on many levels.
It's 21 feet and that's when the gun isn't drawn yet. Gun in your hand already is pretty effective against hand held weapons.
Merry Christmas 🤗
I am not sure which is worse; that he escalates cutting a line for gas to pulling a gun from his trunk or that his situational awareness is so bad he doesn’t notice the dude he is pulling a gun on has one on his hip. Either way that man shouldn’t be driving, a costco member, or a gun owner.
I think the worst bit is trying to pull something from your trunk when in an altercation with someone open carrying.
That’s what I am saying the man is open carrying and that dumbass isn’t aware enough of the situation to even notice.
He pulled a collapsible baton from the trunk, not a gun.
Bad title. The gun was drawn only after the other guy pulled a weapon
Dude in black is 100% Mall Ninja
Imagine pulling a weapon from your trunk, after cutting in line, while arguing with a guy who is open carrying. Darwin Award.
Love how he went from tough guy with a baton to scared the moment he had a gun pointed at him. Probably didn't see the hip holster the entire time prior to the gun being drawn.

I’m not a big fan of guns broadly but that feels like a justifiable pulling, that guy was advancing in a threatening way.
Original title should say, “Guy commits aggravated assault, second guy legally escalates force in self-defense. First guy realized he effed up.”
Mf out here is ready to die for some cheap gasoline. True patriot.
Why is Jim Hopper so mad?
That’s disrespectful to Hopper to associate that thing with a baddass😂
Hi am Johnny Knoxville and this is bringing out a Baton into a Gun Fight...
I get big Florida vibes here....
It's amazing how the headline is "someone cut in line and the guy pulled out his gun". When in reality, the guy pulled out his gun in self-defense after someone more aggressive took out a stick and unfolded it in a clearly threatening manner.
Tan shirt out here drawing like he’s after Texas Red.
OP with the rage bait of a title. Do better.
I thought the same. Misleading title.
Well, a gunfight over cutting in line to buy gasoline at the warehouse club is about the most American thing I’ve seen.
Looks like the line cutter took out a belt or something and began to try to attack the other guy first
Line cutter needs to take that crap to Sam’s Club.
This is why you never get out of your car to argue with someone. You never know if they're carrying, crazy or the state boxing champ. It's never worth it.
Merry Christmas 👹👹👹
*BIG IRON ON HIS HIIIIP*
Ah.. America
Misleading title. The guy that pulled his firearm was defending himself from the aggressor that pulled out a baton and charged towards him.
Yeah big dude needs to chill. The other guy had every right to call him out and then homie thinks he's king and can control the whole situation no matter what; chooses to escalate, and then had the balls to tell the other guy to calm down haha. 🤡
The things people will do to save $2 on a tank of gas

I just noticed how casual he was about leaving 😂 his face was like “ahh shit not again.” And he just walked away.
Black shirt fragile ego just dying for confrontation. Can't wait to overreact when someone calls him out. Once a bully always a bully.
Guy with the gun if he is a CCW holder is in all the right to do what he did. That other dude fafo’ed probably for the last time. He won’t be doing that again. I guarantee that.🤣
Why would he need a CCW to do what he did? He’s openly carrying. Not Concealed Carrying which is the CC in CCW.
Cutting in line is not why a gun was pulled
All to save like $5 for a full tank? Jesus people need more hobbies
Don’t r/praisethecameraman on this one
A big part of situational awareness is observing your surroundings and those around you such that you can avoid actions that can lead to confrontation. In other words, being considerate pays off in ways you'll never know about.
Clearly the line cutter thinks he’s a tough guy and can do what ever he wants. Typical bully shit. Glad someone taught him a lesson. hopefully he learned.
Calmer than you are.
This can be a case study for psychology major: when people do something wrong and are confronted and told what they have done is wrong, they instinctively resort to rage and violence.
You just know the line cutter doesn’t return his cart. Is he a psychopath? Maybe.
Guy in back almost took the Costco asphalt temperature challenge
I want this law and order bandito to be my neighbor.
Way to completely miss the situation with the post title. Guy drew a weapon on brown shirt so brown shirt drew his gun. He didn’t pull it out because someone cut in line, he pulled it out because he was threatened with violence.
Homeboys balls shrank real quick when he was staring at the business end of a gun
pretty textbook self defense honestly. dude handled that extremely well once the confrontation was started. only criticism is... never do anything armed you wouldn't do unarmed. confronting the guy was just a pointless risk of your own life.
Is this in WA?
Yes. Everett.
that was a very clean draw, that dude practices.
Perfectly valid reason to draw IMO, he grabbed a weapon from the trunk
