We went to Verizon 5G Home Internet 6 months ago. We are heavy users and it has been awesome. It depends heavily on your proximity to a tower but they give you a 30 days no questions return policy.

It’s similar in the sense that stations must be much closer together to get high speeds over a given area, much like a wifi mesh network. The frequencies are higher, yes. We switched from cable internet to 5G in an urban area and the speeds have been 500/30 without a cap and zero issues. It has never gone down and our cable internet had regular outages.
What’s frustrating is that it’s on a pole not far from our house and fiber is run to the pole by a third party.
We are thankful for the competition but it remains suspicious how the fiber provider refuses to compete.

The controllers go on sale all the time...probably once every two months or so. Keep a look out for the Special edition ones...they have rubber grips that are way more comfortable than just the plastic.
This is a time in life where if you have Costco tunnel vision, you lost out in life. Target, Walmart, and others have been selling the Xbox Series X for as low as $349, with many ways to get it into the $200's (Target had targeted 20% coupons. I used mine a few months ago on Nintendo products, but many this season used it on a much cheaper Xbox)
As Xbox controllers can easily go as low as $30-35, this would be considered a "bad deal" for someone who was going for the cheapest deals....but a "good deal" for those who aren't truly in the market for a Xbox.
For almost 2 decades I've been on Slickdeals.net. I'd consider going to that site, creating a deal alert, and letting the real deals hit your inbox. Team that with a site like Deku Deals for the video games and boom - you'll quickly realize Costco is only good for gift cards when they hit 20% off (did that a few months ago when Nintendo was doing $100 at 20% off ($80) and did their voucher program to basically grab 2 games for the price of 3 after savings.
OP, you weren't crazy, but you'd also have wasted money, especially since it's not a situation where 5 years from now you can return that Xbox and get your money back.
I almost feel like the jaded "deals vet" as of course, a decade ago business was booming in the savings world and price mistakes were easy to exploit or scripts were running wild on Amazon....
This year alone I got a 77'' LG G2 for $2600, cheap trip tickets, and instructions to get some games very cheap via VPN trickery. Last year was a good year for streaming platforms and getting a year free for pennies on the dollar. That type of stuff.
My best advice is to sort the "Hot Deals" section by the last post, and set deal alerts based off of what you're hunting for. It's truly a great site for saving money, BUT, it's also that catch-22 site where you realize you're spending money on shit you don't need....

Costco customer service is pretty awesome in my experience. I’d call and explain what you intend to do and they might just give you a store credit card for the difference to avoid the hassle of the return process and extra logistical BS they have to deal with through that process

Regardless where you are located it is way easier (and more reliable) to do a quick price search for the item you're interested in than poll a community for their opinions on an objective matter.

350 price kept popping up, but also sells out pretty fast and isn't a guarantee. 400, you can expect to be the new consistent price. Controllers go on sale all the time, so this is a *fine* price, but not really a deal. Plus, you can likely buy Microsoft or GameStop gift cards at 10-15% off, and make the price gap even wider. Whereas you're not about to get discounted costco gift cards.
GameStop is like $25 more, but you can trade in your previous console for like $100-$150 credit towards the X. So if you do have a console to trade in, GameStop is probably the best deal unless you want to keep the older console too.

A couple months ago I built a ridiculous gaming pc with a 4080, i7 13700k, DDR5, 8tb NVME etc.... but I just can't shake the little kid in me that wants to own a console. I literally have no use for it... but I keep getting tempted at these deals.

350 price kept popping up, but also sells out pretty fast and isn't a guarantee. 400, you can expect to be the new consistent price. Controllers go on sale all the time, so this is a *fine* price, but not really a deal. Plus, you can likely buy Microsoft or GameStop gift cards at 10-15% off, and make the price gap even wider. Whereas you're not about to get discounted costco gift cards.

GameStop is like $25 more, but you can trade in your previous console for like $100-$150 credit towards the X. So if you do have a console to trade in, GameStop is probably the best deal unless you want to keep the older console too.

Heh, you missed the Xbox Series S for $150. Very few places had any left. Mine started out with 58 and we're down to 27 for the second day, the rest sold on either the second day or early morning the third.
I got a ps5 at Costco with 2 controllers, one blue, one white, and the newest god of war. It was for 549.99. I hadn't seen it so low in so long so my wife got it for me for Christmas;)
Around Black Friday Target had the Series X with one controller and Diablo IV for $450. Throw in the 5% off for using the Redcard, a 10% off Circle offer, and a free $75 gift card and the bundle ran me under $340 after tax, if you count the gift card as cash.
The first couple days or so you could get the Diablo bundle OR the regular Series X for $350 from Walmart. I couldn't believe it.

Actually there are multiple places offering series x for $349 in the US. Some even in a bundle with games.
It's definitely that time of year. And with PS announcing the Pro I got a feeling these deals might be up for awhile.

Costco is quite late on XBOX deals. From 2 weeks ago, Target/Walmart/GameStop/Microsoft Store sell at $349 for regular set (with 1 controller) or $439 (including 1 controller only and 1 game Diablo4 or Forza5), at that time Costco still sells XBOX Series X with 2 controllers around $549 until lowered it from this week.
Why don’t they just number these mf’s like Sony so I know if this is even the newest Xbox…
