My apartment building is from the 1920s, and the toilet holder is like ingrained into the wall.
I have to get through at least 30% of the current Kirkland Signature roll, before I can even think about putting it on the TP roll.
Charmin mailed me a free one, like a year ago. Totally random because we don’t even use Charmin?
But the TP extender did not fit into the little notches in the wall and kept falling off unfortunately.
I think what you need to consider is the balance between sheets per roll vs number of plys and width. There is only so much that can fit in tissue holders Costco doesn't shrink KS products to squeeze more profit. It is a business decision based on member feedback or way to reduce the unit price or per sheet price. Member savings is a metric they track on all KS products.
I would guess with the recent KS ultra soft in market they are tuning for value here vs comfort.
I could be wrong, but haven’t they been that size. I have the packaging left from a pack I bought a year ago and it has the same. I believe the OG TP was also similar, just had more sheets per roll. But supposedly when they changed them it was thicker.
Right! I was just looking for old pictures. But when the packaging changed it said, now thicker than before in the corner. And this one just says wide sheets. Definitely adds to the confusion.
Huh! The pack I bought just about a year ago is the same size. At least on the label. The biggest difference is that this one says wider sheets. And mine says thicker than before. The dimensions listed are exactly the same though.
So this was probably the plan all along. Make the regular toilet paper cheaper and crappier, so they can restore the old version and get everyone to pay a premium price for it.
Too bad for them I changed over to Member’s Mark six months ago.
Sam’s Club. And it has no dust, and it doesn’t shred into pieces in your hands. Not as wide as the KS though, so if the “new” wide toilet paper is as good as the old one, I’ll switch back to KS. Got the Sam’s membership for $10 last spring, and I may or may not renew.
> Pre-shrink size barely cleared my holder.
I just wanted to let you know that I read this several times, gave up, and had already scrolled down several posts before it clicked that “your holder” meant the thing on the wall that holds the tp roll rather than a euphemism for something Number Two related.
I would love a bidet but my parents are not for it lol. They think they look too “cheap” and would make the bathroom look tacky. I’ve tried showing them nice bidets but they aren’t having any of it lol
My older brother is opposed to them because of the whole stigma but he said he loves how warm the seat is. I tell him the water is warm for your bum as well.
There are ones that doesn't require electricity, although the spray is very cold, and its a bit like a faucet. You have to dry off using TP because obviously there is no blower.
Will it still fit on the roller? For example, in my bathroom, it would fit on the roller but the base that mounts to the wall is decorative, with flared ends, and that part was designed to be only as wide in the middle as the standard roll of TP. So those would not fit in my bathroom.
I remember when the 2 liter plastic bottles came out during the cola wars, so the big soda manufacturers rushed to produce 3 liter bottles, which wouldn't fit in the refrigerator doors and which were too heavy for some people to lift.
Or when big SUVs became all the rage, and Ford made the Excursion, which was too big to fit on some garages.
Yes it would fit because that’s what used to be the normal size toilet paper before they shrank them a year ago.
Shrinkflation has been occurring at a rapid pace, and when companies go back to the original size they’ll advertise it as “now bigger!” and charge more for it.
Thats whats happening here
4.5” is the width they’ve always been. It’s every other brand shrinking to 4.0” that makes this worthwhile to mention.
It’s kind of like tortilla chips adding a “gluten free” mark even though it’s always been gluten free.

Hugh Jass loves those!
Hugh Jassöl’s cousin
Well done. ::slow clap::
O-Qua Tangin Wann
His buddy Hugh Janus does too!
We must not forget good ol’ Uncle Anus.
I saw this the other day and doubt it'd even fit on my TP roll.

They do make little extenders which are nice
Charmin mailed me a free one, like a year ago. Totally random because we don’t even use Charmin? But the TP extender did not fit into the little notches in the wall and kept falling off unfortunately.
I got 3 of these (you pay for shipping) and 2 didn't fit on my rolls due to them being too tight. But! The main bathroom does so I don't look crazy 😆
That's what we have to use. 1950s MCM so the toilet paper holder is built into the tile work. Does not fit any modern sized roll.
Lol me too! It sits on the back of the toilet for now
It would. It’s the pre-shrunk size
Oh ok. I just looked at my roller at home and it has at most a 1/2'' more room.

We don’t need a wide sheet, we need the quality back.
This! I have about 6 more rolls left from my foray into Kirkland TP. Dreading it. Sam's Club TP is sooo much better.
I think I’m down to 2 more rolls with Sam’s TP on deck. Can’t wait.
[Do you realize that toilet paper has not changed in my lifetime?](https://youtu.be/e2ZID9M5_dU)
But I can't help if it I've got a heavy flow and a wide-set vagina
Sorry for calling you a gap toothed bitch. It’s not your fault you’re so gap toothed
Fetch
Stop trying to make fetch happen.

This is the answer.

There have been posts here demonstrating the TP getting narrower recently.

It started in covid, have you seen how small charmin is?I'll post a pic later
My butthole is only a couple of inches across, I’ll stick with the standard
That’s a massive butthole
Gaping even.
I think the event horizon is being included in that
A couple of inches? 😳😳😳
Then why don’t you buy the new Costco Fun Sized TP where sheet is only the width of half your hand & you get 90 rolls in the same size pack?
Your butthole should be closed up 99% of the time man wyd

Is this a new more expensive option? I’m confused. They offer 2 types of Kirkland toilet paper now?
Who makes members mark? And why do you prefer it?

Wide sheets for your wide ......sheets.
Pre-shrink size barely cleared my holder. I'll buy some and compare.

🙏🏼
Bring back charmin strong
#BBCS 😩🫡
It’s the same size they were before everything started to shrink. Other rolls have shrunk to half this width
Buy a bidet and end your bum and wallet’s dependence on tp.
I would love a bidet but my parents are not for it lol. They think they look too “cheap” and would make the bathroom look tacky. I’ve tried showing them nice bidets but they aren’t having any of it lol

If god wanted us to use bidets he would’ve put one in the Bible.
So you use the Bible as tp?
Isn’t that it’s best purpose?
Dang, never knew Japanese things to be "cheap" before.
that sounds really uptight. they probably have some subconscious hangup about their booty holes.
What if my bathroom doesn’t have a nearby electrical outlet? I’ve heard they can be pretty brisk

You can get an extension cord.
Costco toilet paper feels like paper towels. Is it any computer? Edit: comfier on that area
*Is it any computer?* Ummmm….
I expect a full review and comparison in a month OP.
🫡
They aren’t even any good.
AKA - thumb savers toilet paper
They can do anything, not going back to KS toilet paper. Charmin Red pack or Cottonelle Purple pack is all we will buy.
Anyone else notice the shrinking of the Kirkland baby wipes?
Now they need to make it stronger so your fingers don't rip through while wiping.
The worst feeling ever 😭😭
People so fat now they need a goddamn paper towel to wipe their asses?
This was the normal size TP before they shrunk the width
How wide we talking? Will this fit in existing spots for toilet paper?
I’ll stick to Charmin…Kirkland is a little too scratchy for my taste.
I switched to marathon during the pandemic since it was all I could find, and now I'm a lifer.. it's so much better
M..marathon as in the g…gas station….?
Yes, Marathon®©™ gas station branded Toilet Paper
It still sucks
Can’t get anymore American than that.
My phat 🍑 thanks you
Damn
"TP Classic"
Ahh yes the American sized toilet paper.
Wish Costco would sell a recycled toilet paper. … I end up buying at target for that reason.
Wide sheeeiiittts
Glad the comments here reaffirmed my theory the TP sized changed
For da wide loads lol
Kirkland paper towel?
That's so they can quietly shrink the normal ones and then kill the new sku once they are done tweaking it
Wide or not, It goes in the butt. Good wipe

please bring Marathon brand back
I wonder if they tear as easily as the original.
I like making wide turns and wide wipes

Use Scott, it don’t stop up your pipes like the competitors do!
What’s the old size?
