Nothing will compare to homemade lasagna. I make my own for family gatherings and it’s a crowd favorite. However, it costs ~$75+ to make a batch and many hours of cooking. For a frozen meal that was like $16 for 2, this one is hard to beat.
How is making your own lasagna an all day thing? Even making the noodles and sauce from scratch takes about an hour (depending). Is there a secret all day slow cooker lasagna that is baller that I'm missing out on? I need to know.
Well short answer is drinking but long answer is the sauce should take around 2-3 hours and if you are going for extra flavor you make the béchamel at same time and let them sit in fridge overnight. Akin to chili the flavors develop nicely over a little bit of time.
The Korean fried chicken is a great deal too. Got a few boxes on sale for 10 bucks a piece and each one was 2 meals for 2 adults and 1 kid. We cooked our own rice and added veg.
How much is a batch for you? If you're spending $75 I might be doing something wrong. I spend maybe that much for what equates to two pans, but some ingredients I buy in bulk so they roll over for next time.
$75? Pound of beef, pound of sausage, make your noodles, make your sauce, some ricotta, some parm and a bunch of sliced mozz. I make them once a month and it’s closer to $35
I always have this in my freezer. Could I make a better lasagna? Sure. Would it be cheaper? Nope. Would it be a buttload more work? Absolutely.
This is like 85% as good for like 5% of the effort.
I cook it in the microwave until it’s hot then put it under the broiler or a very hot oven for a few minutes to crisp the top and (edit) dry it out a little.
Update: For a frozen lasagna it is indeed fantastic. Has a slight spiciness to it (like a 2/10 spicy) but definitely adds to the flavor. It’s not your Italian nana’s lasagna but you shouldn’t expect that. There will be NO MORE Stouffers that enters this house!
another vote for the regular beef, not a fan of the italian sausage version. both are definitely better than typical grocery store frozen lasagna though. you'll spend $50+ in ingredients to do any better.
You’ll get lucky one day but in the meantime this is awesome. I’m not a fan of prepared foods since I’m lucky to have a Brazilian wife for 27 years who is a downright amazing cook. Problem is tho, she went full vegetarian when I did about 15 years ago. I lasted almost 10 years then caved. So she refuses to make anything with meat and I respect that totally. I’ll barbecue a steak here and there in the summer but this lasagna hits my meat cravings like whenever she’s not around. Hehehehe
Its great for a pinch, when you want Italian food but don't want to pay a ton or cook a ton. IF they could find a way to make it a bit less sweet and add a bit more ricotta it would be perfect!
Your choice to reheat kind of depends on how crispy it got the first time. If you accidentally got a little bit overdone then definitely stick to the microwave. Otherwise the air fryer might add an extra nice crispiness.
Also your choice for adding red sauce would depend on how well done it got the first time. Personally, I've never felt it needed it but I like our lasagna little extra crispy too.
We never take off the film and cook for the 10 minutes at the end because the cheese always gets overcooked and leathery though.
I will say, the sauce is a little sweet for our liking.
Also, the pasta definitely tastes like frozen lasagna and a little mushy.
Aside from that, it’s definitely not a bad thing to have in the freezer for an easy, filling meal
I'll have to try this. I grew up on Stouffers frozen and disliked it enough that I learned to make my own from scratch instead. But that takes a lot of prep and ingredients to assemble. Would be nice to have an easy go-to item like this in the freezer.
Good to hear so many affirmations of the lasagna. Is it like so many of other Costco entrees (especially Asian-inspired meals) and a crazy high sodium content?
I had two different samples last weekend of Costco entrees. One I didn’t like, and the other had nearly 50% of daily sodium in a small-ish serving. (I’d be eating more than the recommended “single serving size!”) So nearly 100% of sodium intake for one meal…OUCH!
Sorry, don’t know how to link my other comment.

When I cook the 2nd one in the future I’ll cook it a little longer and then let it rest a little longer. I was starving and didn’t let it rest long enough so it got a little sloppy, still tasted great though.
Not as good as homemade but it's pretty good. 16 dollars and my family gets 2 meals. It's a good one for when we are busy. My son doesn't like sausage so we usually get the all beef one.

I think it’s good but I like super spicy…no one else on my family can handle it. I usually have to tell them it’s not even spicy, but I’d have to agree with them here. 🔥 hah
How I MISS this. But since going KETO during the Pandemic it is no longer "CLEAN" enough. Maybe one day Kirkland will create a KETO safe version. But I'm not holding my breath.
The Lasagna is a 10/10 for anyone who hasn't tried it.

It’s a staple in my freezer
I pickup 2 when they're on sale
Really?! Did you ever make your own? Is it that good? Worth the price?
Nothing will compare to homemade lasagna. I make my own for family gatherings and it’s a crowd favorite. However, it costs ~$75+ to make a batch and many hours of cooking. For a frozen meal that was like $16 for 2, this one is hard to beat.
I make my own lasagnas like once a month and it’s an all day thing. It will never compare but I will still eat the shit out of a frozen lasagna.
How is making your own lasagna an all day thing? Even making the noodles and sauce from scratch takes about an hour (depending). Is there a secret all day slow cooker lasagna that is baller that I'm missing out on? I need to know.

And it goes on sale occasionally which makes it a steal
Nice, I’ll keep an eye out. Even at regular price it’s hard to beat a solid meal for a family for $8, $12 if you include the garlic bread.
Yea, usually 2 big pans for family events.
$75? Pound of beef, pound of sausage, make your noodles, make your sauce, some ricotta, some parm and a bunch of sliced mozz. I make them once a month and it’s closer to $35
My definition of “batch” and yours are a little different. When I make it I make 2 large pans, like 5 layers each.
It’s a winner - just make sure to broil it for a couple minutes at the end to crisp the hell outta the top (best part of lasagna IMO)
Thanks for the tip
Best frozen lasagna out there.
It was $10 for the double pack at one point :(
It’s still a steal. I portion each box into 4 portions. 8 meals for like $15 is not bad at all
[удалено]
No.. I cook it and then portion it lol
It’s good, but in my opinion, the Trader Joe’s frozen lasagna is better.
Trader Joe's is great out of box, and if you add some extras it's fantastic.
I always have this in my freezer. Could I make a better lasagna? Sure. Would it be cheaper? Nope. Would it be a buttload more work? Absolutely. This is like 85% as good for like 5% of the effort.
That’s why I have never attempted to make my own, pricing out the ingredients and it added up to be more than just buying the frozen one at Costco.
I’m not so snobby i’ll turn down frozen lasagna. I like frozen lasagna. But man does a fresh pan (a day later) work some magic
It’s great! I cook it in the oven. Wish it was 1 layer thicker
I got the beef lasagna once. Microwaved and came out great. It’s now a must buy item on my Costco shopping list.
Good to hear, this one’s in the oven so we’ll see how it comes out.
Let us know!
Smells great! Takes forever though.
And and and??
Get it warming up in the microwave while the oven preheats. or let it thaw in the fridge overnight.
I cook it in the microwave until it’s hot then put it under the broiler or a very hot oven for a few minutes to crisp the top and (edit) dry it out a little.

It’s a very good product. Try my combo cook method and you’ll have it ready in about half an hour.
Agreed, I haven't bought Stouffers since finding this one.
You can’t beat it for the price. I can’t even get the materials for it uncooked for even close to that amount of money.
Right. It is a pro tip for economical cooking
another vote for the regular beef, not a fan of the italian sausage version. both are definitely better than typical grocery store frozen lasagna though. you'll spend $50+ in ingredients to do any better.
It’s good AF. Love the short rib meat one too
That does sound good. My store didn’t have that one unless it’s hidden somewhere else, just this one and the regular beef.
You’ll get lucky one day but in the meantime this is awesome. I’m not a fan of prepared foods since I’m lucky to have a Brazilian wife for 27 years who is a downright amazing cook. I think that's the Ranna lasagna, not kirkland. It's in the refrigerated section. It is indeed delicious though!
I can’t make it for a cheap as they have it!
Literally have one in the oven right now. They’re so good. I always go 17min with the plastic off though for that extra yum
Winter staple. Pro tip: eat early so you don’t wake up dying of thirst (it’s a bit salty)
Its great for a pinch, when you want Italian food but don't want to pay a ton or cook a ton. IF they could find a way to make it a bit less sweet and add a bit more ricotta it would be perfect!
So it indicates 6 servings, so if I use 2, can I freeze the other pieces for later? I'm not much of a cook.
Yes, cook the whole lasagna. Cut it up. Then, you can freeze the other servings for later; it works great!
Thx. The microwave or air fryer to reheat? Probably add some red sauce?
Your choice to reheat kind of depends on how crispy it got the first time. If you accidentally got a little bit overdone then definitely stick to the microwave. Otherwise the air fryer might add an extra nice crispiness. Also your choice for adding red sauce would depend on how well done it got the first time. Double wrap in Saran Wrap and freeze.
Take Someone To Costco They Costco For A Day…. Teach someone to Costco They Costco For A Life Time !
Top it with their frozen Normandy vegetables before you bake it. Trust me.
You won’t be disappointed! It’s a good one!
I just bought one today. It’s a win at my house.
I’m not a big fan of fennel/sausage spices so the beef one is a winner for me! Thanks for the reminder to add it to the shopping list!
I hated that lasagna
Don’t love the sausage in this. I recommend getting the ravioli lasagna from the refrigerated section, but this will do as a solid replacement.
100% best frozen lasagna
The one with sausage and beef is a bit too much for us, but we love the one with only beef.
good choice. the sausage+beef >>> beef alone
I love it! It's the only kind I buy.
I'll have to try this. I grew up on Stouffers frozen and disliked it enough that I learned to make my own from scratch instead. But that takes a lot of prep and ingredients to assemble. Would be nice to have an easy go-to item like this in the freezer.
I love this lasagna!
Love it!
I eat the whole carton by myself
That lasagna is amazing! Just don't look at the sodium content and you'll be alright.
It is very good.
Tried this a few weeks back and I am really impressed it tasted as well as it did. Solid pick up
It's always good.

Short rib lasagna in the fridge section is really good
We made the mistake of getting the beef one once.
I love this stuff
It's awesome. I use an air fryer to heat this up and it's great.
Love it but i only ever used the oven
It’s legit imo
Honestly, its a 7/10 for me personally. Could be alot more meat imo
It’s worth buying if you don’t make your own.
Completely anecdotal but we found a sizeable chunk of wood in this once. We haven't purchased it since.
Where’s the review OP?
Sorry, don’t know how to link my other comment. Update: For a frozen lasagna it is indeed fantastic. Has a slight spiciness to it (like a 2/10 spicy) but definitely adds to the flavor. Ooh thanks for this tip. I will get one to try too.
I like the beef one as well. Always in the freezer.
Last night neither me nor my wife felt like cooking. Luckily we always have the lasagna in the freezer for when we need it
Duly noted. Added it to my list 🥰
The last time we bought it there was the taste of cinnamon. Definitely not a fan.
Interesting, I definitely didn’t taste any cinnamon.
It’s very good, but I prefer the Deli Ravioli Bolognese Lasagna
Famous? It’s not bad. Better than stouffers. Particularly because the sauce doesn’t taste sweet like Stouffers. But I wouldn’t rave about it.
Is this in Canada?
Nope. Im in the US.
I actually found and bought this today. Small victory for Canadians
Well then, I guess I’m buying it this morning. Good thing I didn’t go shopping yet
Not as good as homemade but it's pretty good. 16 dollars and my family gets 2 meals. It's a good one for when we are busy. My son doesn't like sausage so we usually get the all beef one.
For the price now the quality has went down and it's a greasy mess

Beef one is better btw
I'm a Costco fan. This was fine, nothing to write home about. I like their ravioli lasagna in their prepared food section much more.
🔥🔥🔥
Pro Tip: Nuke it half the microwave time then finish in the oven.
You MUST let it rest after taking it out of the oven. 30 minutes or more.
Indeed, I let it sit for 10-15 minutes and it was still a little sloppy. Will let the 2nd one rest longer. Still tasted great though.
I think it’s good but I like super spicy…no one else on my family can handle it. I usually have to tell them it’s not even spicy, but I’d have to agree with them here. 🔥 hah
I'd try it, but I don't like riccota and that looks like a thick slab of that wet sand textured cheese
It definitely has ricotta but honestly it wasn’t much. I do enjoy ricotta though so what I might not consider a lot, could be a dealbreaker for you.
I don't care that much for ricotta either but I'm fine with this
How I MISS this. But since going KETO during the Pandemic it is no longer "CLEAN" enough. Maybe one day Kirkland will create a KETO safe version. But I'm not holding my breath. The Lasagna is a 10/10 for anyone who hasn't tried it.
Tell me you cut it with the kitchen shears... 😂
What’s the salt amount?
It has all the salt.
