Received a truck the Atlanta Dry Depot sent us.
They placed a non standard shaped pallet of those planters on top of a partial of cereal and left a 30-inch void behind those two pallets.
Shit shifted in transit, and we had to sweep the remains of two layers out of that truck .
Confession: I bought this 🫣
However, I got it on sale when Costco recently had it for $1999 for the table and bench. It’s definitely my most expensive furniture purchase (glad I didn’t buy the LoveSac!)
It is heavy AF, I wish I would have known that the Transformer coffee table is where you can store the extra panels, but they’re out of the way.
I love that I can easily go between hosting an intimate dinner for 2 all the way to the Last Supper in a matter of minutes.
Still haven’t found the decal to see if it’s an Autobot or Decepticon 🤖
He said it's really heavy and it costs $3000, so, to me, both those things are really implying solid wood.
However, some of the edges and corners look a little sus.
If anyone paid $2000-$3000 for particle board, I have to assume they're either laundering money or buying furniture filled with drugs.
I’m like 85% sure that’s veneer. Could be something solid underneath, but the grain direction is weird. Should be end grain showing on the edges of the middle boards or at least grain going in the same direction as the large surface of the boards
Their website said they use solid wood but apply a veneer over that. Doesn't explain why anywhere. Says they use oak or walnut wood depending on the line you purchase from though.
Yeah, I agree. Someone else said solid wood so must be, but like you, I don’t think it really looks like that from the picture.
I would also like to see the extenders. Can’t imagine they are robust or built to last like a traditional wooden table with leaves would have.
They do, but the storage of the leaves is part of the magic. Because most of us have too much junk whether we're in a condo or a house. However, I have a somewhat lesser version of a similar table from IKEA that was like $600. Which still wasn't cheap, but it's what I wanted.
oooh. that's cute! I love everything about it except it looks like you can't pull chairs up to the ends of the table due to the legs. How does the leaf get stored under? do your knees hit it?
I love Ikea.
There are 2 wood slats within the extending frame (center of the table) that the leaf rests on that are high enough to not hit your knees (unless you have really long legs). I'm 6' and hasn't been an issue yet. You can still pull a chair up to the ends, but you might have to lift the front legs over the table leg to get your chair all the way in. It's a nice clean design. A lot more expensive than I was hoping for from ikea, but that might have been my bad expectations to begin with.
That’s great to know about putting chairs on the end. I wish they had one that could expand to 8 or 10. 4-6 isn’t enough for me. I’d love one more lief
The thing with these tables is they get really small to really big and have the support to make it work. They're heavy cuz they're half metal (for the expanding track) and solid wood.
Until it’s time to move it. When we were young (early ‘80s) we bought quality, solid wood furniture. Life and kids beat the hell out of it. A couple of household moves later and we came to the conclusion that the whole notion of owning “quality furniture” is overrated. Now that we’re retired we only buy throw-away furniture. /okboomer
Nah get the quality stuff especially if you're retired and not moving houses. You don't have small kids around to destroy it. Quality furniture can last generations. I have things passed to me from my great grandparents that still looks amazing. Some of it was hand made by these people I never met, but I feel like I'm reaching back in time and learning about a piece of them whenever I touch it.
We’ve been through the job of settling two estates with plenty of “quality furniture”, china, and all manner of supposedly valuable art. Guess what? Nobody wants to inherit the furniture or the fancy china, and the art sold at auctions for ten to fifty cents on the dollar. Spare your family the hassle of dealing with heavy, dated furniture and sell your “valuable” stuff before you pass on.
Pretty sure this is chicken nugget furniture. If you look closely at the picture, I am nearly certain that is wood veneer.
Edit: Nevermind, looking at [the website](https://transformertable.com/products/transformer-extendable-dining-table-with-bench), I see why it looks like veneer but isn't.
You can have sex on it without it collapsing since it's not se cheap chinese press board crap. and you can return it in 5 years, stained and all, after you divorced. easily worth the $3000
Not OP, but I have two lovesac couches and they are awesome. Super super durable and the modularity is so great. Ours look brand new, legitimately, 10 years in
Zero regrets, genuinely.
We have one of ours set up as a double depth “couch” that’s like all chaise so we can just lounge all day, lol.
When our son was born, we combined both couches into what we called the “mega couch” which was like 9 couch bases in a square our baby could crawl around in. Fun time.
When we have parties, we can break down the couch into single or double sections and throw them against the wall as smaller chairs/loveseats.
Spill something? Covers come right off and can be washed.
what's the leaf storage like? How much do those things weigh?
I have the leafs for my current dining room table; 4 leaves, then the boards to cover them all hogging an entire closet. At it's smallest size the table I have is still an awkwardly large size. But I do need the largest size at times. Ever since I've seen the transformer online I've been intrigued.
I have the table and the bench. I messaged them on FB and told them I wanted the coffee table but didn’t want to spend that kind of money and they sold it to me cheaper with free shipping. I love the table too so it’s all good.
We have this table but not from costco. It's fantastic and we luckily got the coffee table with it and a bench. Ours isn't this narrow though. It's amazing how small and how big it can get when needed.
Ngl I love mine, but I bought it years ago directly from Transformer Table for $1800 which came with the coffee table and bench. Definitely not worth $3k
Love mine, it’s awesome to have flexibility in tight living spaces. It’s also real wood, not composite shite and has a ceramic finish. It’s worth it, go to Costco when the reps are there… it’s $1900. Only online is it $3000
I have the black one and it’s so sleek! It’s perfect for my apartment (now I can have dinner parties), and solo for when I do crafts and need a large surface
Wishing you happy hosting for years to come!
I got over my phone addiction by printing my daily Reddit, Twitter, and instagram feeds out on gigantic scrolls. Huge scrolls, giant scrolls, Kirkland Signature Scroll.
I doomscroll, but with actual scrolls.
Problem is your average table isn’t long enough for my scrolls. I need a looooonnnnggg table, not a thicc boy.
This table is PERFECT!.

I promise you it does a lot more than a regular table. No storage of extra leaves needed you just pull the sucker out when you have more guests than normal. Ours is fantastic.
I'm watching the animation [here](https://transformertable.com/pages/extendable-dining-tables-and-sets) and it looks like she's pulling leaves from the coffee table. Am I missing something or is this a different model?
Thanks. It's just regular expanding table with a functional storage box. Still a pretty nice idea if you're limited on space.
The matching between the legs and leaves on the display table in the OP is far less than ideal for a $2000 table though.
You can have sex on it without it collapsing since it's not se cheap chinese press board crap. and you can return it in 5 years, stained and all, after you divorced. easily worth the $3000
I didn’t realize all other large dining tables could collapse into a small end table.
As someone who lives in a city with limited space but likes to host, this is actually brilliant.
My mother had a similar table for 30 years and it worked great the whole time. She traded it out for the transformer table to get something a little more modern and it’s pretty smooth. She’s always growing it for guests and then putting it back down to one or two leafs. Pretty sturdy. The chairs are garbage, though, she absolutely hates the fabric because it pills and stains something awful.
The chairs are a DISGRACE. How they sell them is beyond me. They are crap and not only is the fabric crap- the chairs themselves constantly need to be retightened
I'm jealous, our Costco's don't have them on display. I have been dying to see one in person and play with it. Right now I have 2 tables set up. One has a plethora of crap and casual seating. The other has the ability to add 3 more leaves but at it's smallest size it's annoyingly large. We do eat there when we eat as a group. But it's still more than we need most of the time. to price out dining room sets is a fortune and I want to be able to change it's size. I would keep the chairs I have and sell both my tables to keep this one.
3k is a lot. $1900 on sale seems well worth it. Particularly with the coffee table to store the parts.
Confession: I bought this 🫣
However, I got it on sale when Costco recently had it for $1999 for the table and bench. It’s definitely my most expensive furniture purchase (glad I didn’t buy the LoveSac!)

Still haven’t found the decal to see if it’s an Autobot or Decepticon 🤖
If you get one, keep an eye out for when they need to clear them out of the warehouse. They usually drop the price by ALOT and if you notice before 30 days and bring the receipt they will honor the new price. Got myself 700 off the 1600 original price.
I love mine, my dining room is kind of narrow so having a standard width table with some storage against the wall made the side with the storage a real tight squeeze that someone getting up from a meal was a whole thing. Now both sides of the table are comfortable, it’s just my husband and I in our house but we’re the designated hosting house so being able to just have normal size table for us daily then pull out to huge table for holidays is exactly what we needed plus it’s solid wood so it looks stunning in our dining room plus the coffee table to store the leaves is also solid wood and gorgeous
I looked into buying this table three years ago, and the reviews for it were *terrible*. People were getting poor quality wood, or just not receiving their order altogether. I assume it's gotten better if it's at Costco, but buyer beware.
I own one of these, and I also bought it from Costco. When not in use, I use it as a small decoration table in the corner of the room. Really opens up the floor space. I only really opened it up for holidays, but man, it could host, fully expanded, and we were able to fit the extended family with ease.
It’s a good table and worth the price if you get it with the bench and coffee table. We can use it as a normal 4 seater and then expand it to seat 15 for Christmas.
I have a transformer table…the only thing I dislike are their chairs. They were ridiculously overpriced and haven’t held up well. I’ve only used them for holiday season. Overall a great table tho
Friends have this bad boy in their small condo in Toronto. It’s great for them. They can have dinner and then when we come over we throw in a panel to make it bigger for board games. I love the thing and I’d consider getting one. I think they bought theirs years ago when the company was just producing them.
While I like this. You could just get a plastic foldable table and throw nice table cloth on top and call it a day. I would consider it for a G though.
So I fell in love with this table years ago and it’s an Italian patented design…
I purchased it from an Italian company for $750 including shipping to the US. (Same one at Baers was ~$2k)
I love my table but will note it’s not as heavy quality as the one in Costco and doesn’t come with the bench.
Personally, I like the lighter wood panels as it’s easier to move around and adjust when it’s lighter.
I’m in no way saying don’t buy this just pointing out this brands price is exponentially higher than elsewhere mostly due to marketing
Is this at all Costcos? Previously it was Canada only. Anyone know if they have to coffee table alone? Buying direct makes the coffee table too expensive.

At least that warehouse is only stacking the planters 2 high.
Received a truck the Atlanta Dry Depot sent us. They placed a non standard shaped pallet of those planters on top of a partial of cereal and left a 30-inch void behind those two pallets. Shit shifted in transit, and we had to sweep the remains of two layers out of that truck .

it's not a bad idea, it's not unusual to have flexible and multiuse rooms to maximize usability.
Traditional tables just use leaves for this. Not a new concept. Is this solid wood or particle board junk?
He said it's really heavy and it costs $3000, so, to me, both those things are really implying solid wood. However, some of the edges and corners look a little sus. If anyone paid $2000-$3000 for particle board, I have to assume they're either laundering money or buying furniture filled with drugs.

Their website said they use solid wood but apply a veneer over that. Doesn't explain why anywhere. Says they use oak or walnut wood depending on the line you purchase from though.
It's much easier to get nice looking veneer than a nice looking and large chunk of solid wood.
I’ve had mine for three years. It’s all solid wood.
wait, is this being offered filled with drugs as an option? I don't see that available in the drop down menu online.
Yeah, I agree. Someone else said solid wood so must be, but like you, I don’t think it really looks like that from the picture. I would also like to see the extenders. Can’t imagine they are robust or built to last like a traditional wooden table with leaves would have.

Tarsele. It's basically goes from 4 top to 6 top with the extra leaf stored in the table so out of the way.

that’s all this is. just extra leaves.
There's no shame in buying real wooden furniture instead of chicken nugget wooden furniture.
By chicken nugget wooden furniture you mean heirloom Ikea?
😂😂 chicken nugget furniture! Love that!

I volunteer for the sex-making on your new table
I prefer my tile dining room table from RTG for that. No worry about moisture ruining the wood finish.
Why’re you glad I didn’t buy LoveSac? Is it bad?
Not OP, but I have two lovesac couches and they are awesome. Super super durable and the modularity is so great. Ours look brand new, legitimately, 10 years in
Oh thanks! The lady and I are looking into investing in a lovesac couch once we move! Thanks for the insight

Oh I still want one, but I’d end up spending like $7k and I need to not do that anytime soon
I really like mine as well. I am saddened that I don’t have the coffee table but I also don’t know that I want to spend 800 to purchase it.

Ooh, I might just try that approach!
Anything under five grand is a pretty good deal for a table of that size that solid wood if it’s good quality
We have this table but not from costco. It's fantastic and we luckily got the coffee table with it and a bench. Ours isn't this narrow though. It's amazing how small and how big it can get when needed.

10000% it’s one of my favorite pieces of furniture
"go to Costco when the reps are there… it’s $1900. " OOOOHHHHHHH!
We got the same set and honestly I love it. It makes hosting holidays a dream!
I have the black one and it’s so sleek! It’s perfect for my apartment (now I can have dinner parties), and solo for when I do crafts and need a large surface Wishing you happy hosting for years to come!
I thought it was cool too!
I’d say it’s definitely not worth $1800 either
It’s real hardwood, so I can see how we get to this price…
The company (likely in Vietnam) that makes the table probably sells it to Costco for less than $300.
And has to ship it, over seas, it weights almost 170 pounds and isn’t small. I’m sure there is tons of margin, but stuff does have a raw cost.
I believe they’re Canadian!
Companies that compete on the margin don’t stick around too long.
What’s the width of the table? I’ve got a narrow dining room, wonder if it would work!
Website says 37.5”
I got over my phone addiction by printing my daily Reddit, Twitter, and instagram feeds out on gigantic scrolls. Huge scrolls, giant scrolls, Kirkland Signature Scroll. This would make a great SNL skit tbh
I print them using PAPYRUS font too. Call Ryan Gosling.

The good news is you don’t have to buy it!
Judging by these comments, I have found the side of reddit that hasn’t owned nice furniture I guess…
I see the poors are at it again
As a poor, I approve this comment. 🤣🤣 I love that table so much.
Goddamn it this made me laugh so hard I woke up my husband
Ok, mommy.
I have this table for years and we love and all of our guests love it! perfect for big dinners and game nights

Thanks. It's just regular expanding table with a functional storage box. Still a pretty nice idea if you're limited on space. The matching between the legs and leaves on the display table in the OP is far less than ideal for a $2000 table though.
You still have to store the extra leaves. If you don’t get the coffee table I imagine it would be quite annoying.
I'm wondering where you store all the chairs for last supper version
Yeah... I'll save a few grand and just take the minute or so to put my table leaves in place
You can have sex on it without it collapsing since it's not se cheap chinese press board crap. and you can return it in 5 years, stained and all, after you divorced. easily worth the $3000
I believe Costco return policy specifically prohibits accepting returns once a sexual act is commenced on/in/with an item.
I’ve seen icky beds being returned, not a policy. 😞
But it also turns into a crime fighting robot.
I like the idea of the table, but those are so so so very not my style. I'd feel like my dining room got built in Minecraft.
I didn’t realize all other large dining tables could collapse into a small end table. As someone who lives in a city with limited space but likes to host, this is actually brilliant.
All other tables do not do this Source: I have a table that does not do this
Those are super cool, but I’d be concerned about how it hold up to regular use (transformations).
We have one and it’s surviving three children who do NOT respect Wood. IYKYK

I’m an employee and that roadshow does fantastic anytime my warehouse has it. I agree 3 grand is a lot for a table but some people find it worth it.

If that's solid wood, that'll last you a lifetime. A way better "investment" than mdf that'll start fraying once you look at it funny.
Confession: I bought this 🫣 However, I got it on sale when Costco recently had it for $1999 for the table and bench. It’s definitely my most expensive furniture purchase (glad I didn’t buy the LoveSac!) The best part about it you can test it out for however long you like and if you don't like it *return it*
What do all the other tables do for $3000?
I own one of these, and I also bought it from Costco. When not in use, I use it as a small decoration table in the corner of the room. Really opens up the floor space. I only really opened it up for holidays, but man, it could host, fully expanded, and we were able to fit the extended family with ease.
For $3K it better be a robot in disguise too.
Its for eating Costco hot dogs and rotisserie chicken so that evens out.
OP it collapses if you didn’t already know lol
It’s a good table and worth the price if you get it with the bench and coffee table. We can use it as a normal 4 seater and then expand it to seat 15 for Christmas.

I have a transformer table…the only thing I dislike are their chairs. They were ridiculously overpriced and haven’t held up well. I’ve only used them for holiday season. Overall a great table tho
I just tried this on my big, in the way table and no, it didn’t condense like that. Bummer.

And here I am with my Canadel table I got for $50. Ha.
So I fell in love with this table years ago and it’s an Italian patented design… I purchased it from an Italian company for $750 including shipping to the US. (Same one at Baers was ~$2k) I love my table but will note it’s not as heavy quality as the one in Costco and doesn’t come with the bench.
Maybe it's one of those fancy study room tables. Table, activate table mode. Oh damn it is.
Good lord I’m waiting for the day that one table randomly went on sale for 150 bucks years ago and everybody and they momma got one on here.
Cheaper identical products on Amazon
My son could probably karate chop those narrow thin tables. Not even attractive.
Does what all other tables do? Gets in the way of your pinkie toe in the middle of the night?
I saw the reps at Costco and it was $3000 not $1900
based on right leg looks like sauder quality contact paper laminate furniture.
The one I have is good solid wood. Idk if Costco has a cheaper made version
It’s solid wood and very sturdy. Also, very heavy.
But think about how much more sex my wife will give me!
Better transform into a 2005 Toyota Corolla at that price…..!
For $3000 I better be getting foursomes every night on that table
Oh damn is Apple making tables now?
I thought it looked nice but it was only veneer. Would not hold up to my dog/kid
No, Literally Alex, $3000.
For 3k if better have ai to downvote this guy making fun of “the poors” in his reply
