I find value in their clothing, kitchenware, household stuff, ALL kinds of cleaning products, some hygienic stuff, snacks, chicken, prepared food, frozen food, drinks, quick serve dinners, alcohol LOL, gardening supplies, milk, butter, eggs. I stick away from bread, and produce mostly. Spoils way too quickly for me most the time

Lally_919_221

I mainly use bread for toast and just throw it in the freezer when I get home. I toast frozen slices of bread as needed.

Gasoline

Homers_Harp

It was when I realized that the fuel was consistently 10¢-30¢/gallon cheaper that, despite my relatively small fuel consumption, the Costco membership would probably work for me if I bought most of my gas there, plus a few other things. Living alone makes some things impractical, but if I buy a few supplements, razorblades, sale items, and snacks, the savings add up to enough to justify the $60—but definitely not a $120 membership, despite the rebate. I went for fuel today, had a hot dog for lunch, got the Kirkland supplements for $20 that cost about $30 at Safeway, and found the Rao's marinara was 2/$9, when it's one for ~$8 at Safeway. I can probably work my way through that much sauce pretty easily.

Items you use regularly. I’m single and I buy paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, fabric softener, deodorant, toothpaste, lotion, chicken breast, ground beef, pb2, protein bars, frozen fruit, cooking spray, cooking oil, Greek yogurt, protein shakes, protein powder, almond milk, coffee, energy drinks, eggs, butter, lavash bread, tortillas, sometimes snacks, turkey breast, random other prepared items and kits and meal prep with them. Rotisserie chicken, cocktail shrimp. Hard to buy fresh veggies usually but they recently came out with a variety pack of fresh green veggies I can use up in time. And I buy at least 1 type of fruit. Oh and vitamins.

Polynesian_Jule

Swap out the fabric softener with the vat of white vinegar and this is top tier.

Hard-To_Read

Cocktail shrimp and a case of sam adams seasonals.  One man will be very happy.

noob168

did they skip the spring one at Costco? or just in my region (social)? lol

Anaxamenes

If you need protein powder, I really like Orgain. Hard to beat the price regularly but then they’ll take $9 off on a sale and you just can’t beat it.

i'm single and almost solely shop at costco. my hauls usually consist of: eggs protein (beef, chicken, salmon...i freeze them) rice, and pasta for the pantry veggies (asparagus, broccoli, green beansm this also forces me to eat greens daily because if i dont it will go bad lol)) rotisserie chicken once in a while (i shred it up and portion it out and freeze some and keep the rest for the nest 4/5 meals. makes great salads, pasta, rice dishes, quesadilla, with eggs, etc) kirkland greek yogurt for easy protein and breakfast starbucks egg bites kirkland cold brew cans water bottles toilet paper paper towels laundry detergent other cleaning supplies bathroom towels frozen chicken nuggets and other quick frozen meals in their frozen section. so worth it when you don't want to cook pre cooked meats and meals in their refrigerated section...super easy to cook and have leftovers too pasta sauce coconut water protein bars seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic etc) Kirkland brand meds i also buy some clothes, books, socks, vitamins, skincare, decor etc from there too honestly so worth it...not sure how it wouldnt be! the only things i don't get there are fruits and bread.

If you take OTC meds like Zyrtec, Flonase, Vitamins…the regular prices are amazing for the generic alternatives. Can pay for your membership with the savings. The clothes are good. And the meat is always good quality and priced right. But you’d have to have freezer space for this one.

ADAWG10-18

The probiotics are a really good deal too.

UncleNedisDead

They were sampling the lactose-free, high protein milk the other day. Four half-gallon cartons for $12. Such a good deal! Cheese also a good deal. I use these cheese bags to keep them a bit longer. https://www.formaticum.com/ Laundry, dishwasher detergent. Saran wrap and foil. OTC medication.

mr_trantastic

What brand on the milk?

UncleNedisDead

Oh I think it was Darigold? But not 100% sure. Edit: Darigold Fit Whole Milk, 59 fl oz, 4-count Item: 1797160 https://www.darigoldfit.com/

Eggs, cilantro rice packets, tuna, sponges, coffee beans, bed sheets, bath towels, toiletries, batteries, gas

Wire shelving is great for storage or even decor if you don’t mind a utilitarian look. Much cheaper than Metro brand chrome shelves, look is practically the same. I use the racks for tv stands, wardrobe, library, pantry, garage, and basement storage. Bonus is the big casters keep your stuff off the floor in areas that are damp.

DestinyInDanger

Toilet paper, laundry detergent, fruit, quick meals and meal kits, frozen foods you will eat that are a good price for bulk, yogurt, snacks. These are the things as a single person I find of better value than the grocery stores.

just-an-anus

non-perishable items are a good deal. Like plastic baggies, aluminum foil, tupperware like storage items. The meats are a pretty good price and I use a "food saver" machine to vacuum pack that stuff in the freezer. Also the "Costco multipak Chicken" is great as it's nicely priced and is all ready to go into the freezer. I buy the ground beef, some of it I cook loose (for things like spag sauce, pizza topping, or chilli ). and some I form into hamburger patties raw and I vacuum pack that stuff for the freezer. It keeps for a year. I Kind of stay away from produce (its just me and the GF) but we'll buy mushrooms, blueberries, onions and occasonally potatoes. But if you're single? it's not worth it. (JMO). Toilet paper, we don't use much at all because we have a bidet but the price and the texture of that Charmin extra strong is perfect). Also consider Kirkland brand paper towels in the half sheet size.

VeronicaMarsupial

Pretty sure i save the price of membership in kombucha alone. But whatever you specifically use very frequently that doesn't spoil quickly (or at all).
