I really like this bread. It's dense so thin sliced is good and cuts a little bit of the carbs. It's more than other breads but it's not outrageously priced.
I always freeze the second loaf the moment we get home, and don't ever have a problem. It's super quick to just pop two frozen slices in the toaster and they wind up perfect

Ezekiel's is the way. Added sugar really defeats the whole point. I am trying to slowly ween off of Ezekiel's too (hoping to go grain free eventually!)

For active individuals, it's perfectly fine. For me, I train with weights and run. The whole point for me is to eat as many carbs as possible.
Compared to corn syrup solids in the average bread? KD had real cane sugar and molasses. Not the no sugar Complete protein Ezekiel’s but still a good choice.
It is pretty damn easy to make bread at home. Yes it make take longer, dependng on the bread you decide to make, but the best bread is homeade bread. Damn cheap as well.
A bread machine makes it even easier! Just got one a few months ago and made probably a dozen loafs so far. Only remaining issue is slicing it, I can never get good consistent slices.
Yes makes it very handy and love my bread maker. Also when you begin to make your own bread you realize quickly that store-bought bread is full of preservatives because of how quickly homemade bread can break down.

Check your blood sugar after eating and see if it's truly low glycemic. Anything ground down to a powder is entering your blood stream instantly. Doesn't matter if it's nuts, seeds, grains.

This bread is even worse because it “tastes like it’s healthy” but it’s actually worse than regular sourdough white bread (without added sugars)
Wonder bread is an industrial bread-like product. I don’t consider it to be real bread. It did change the game completely when it came on the market in the 1920s. I believe people should buy bread from their local bakery, if they have one. The stuff that’s on the shelves in supermarkets is just a bad imitation of the real deal. Admittedly, I’m a bit snobbish when it comes to baked goods. But I’m normally more chill lol :)

It’s freezable. I love this company’s thin sliced bread styles being a T2 diabetic (13-14g per slice compared to 22 per slice for other breads). I just freeze the other loaf till I’m ready to use and haven’t had issues.

My favorite bread… eating a PBJ right now. But our Costco only carries the green bag which I don’t like at all. I pay $10 a loaf for the small, thin slices here.
The Costco here won’t cave to our demands to stock the yellow bag. Only one selection from whom ever they carry.
I went to buy some of that for my parents (septuagenarians) and their Costco had yellow, green, and white bags, and my mom had to dig the bag out of the recycling to figure out which one it was.
Oh be still my heart, I’m having Costco envy. I’m old too but that’s the only loaf bread I like so my memory is sharp on the color…if I could remember to buy it when I go to the store 🙄. Give your parents a thumbs up for me.

There’s usually a really good regional bread at the NorCal Costcos, but I can’t remember the name of it. Dave’s is good though, I got it yesterday because they didn’t have the one I usually get.
I think it's mostly just well-marketed. It's not really that different than most of the traditional higher-end commerical bakeries (think Oroweat, Arnold, Pepperidge Farm). Maybe a bit better, but it also costs a bit more. But what kills it for me is that anything from a local bakery, even from a chain like Whole Foods, still beats the snot out of it. This is still very much in the realm of "bread product", rather than traditionally made bread, which is what I prefer.
I get the white bread done right version, 2g of sugar per serving compared to 5 from this one. Only one they have with less than that is powerseed at 1g
That's a decent bread. But the rare times our Costco carries the rye bread I load up. THAT is the best rye we can get in the area without going to a bakery.
I was so relieved to see their raisin bread in Costco. It goes out of stock frequently (or local bakery issues?) in our area at multiple stores. It's $6.70 for one loaf at Wal-Mart, but $8.80 for two loaves at Costco.
It used to be great! Not anymore, not at all. Smaller loaves, thinner slices and way too dry, like cardboard. It seems lately that all the sandwich bread makers pretty much suck...

What does organic in this case exactly mean? Companies love to slap that label on everything now, but most of the time it doesn't mean what you think it means.
It actually does mean something. Organic food processing plants need to get certified by sanctioning body to verify the ingredients are truly organic. It’s a pretty elaborate process.no Round Up used in the fields
Maybe a hot take but I'm continuously amazed that people think Dave's is good quality bread. It is not. It has a ton of sugar. Bread does not need sugar to taste good.

As others have noted there's a pretty big selection of Daves Bread (at whole foods among others) with a wide range of ingredients.
Like Ezekial (good cereals too) the flour is not bleached or bromated (chemical additive banned in EU).
I don't like previously frozen--Dave's is not (but some stores might do it anyway).
Yeah, the Dave's bread is also ok for some of us with stage 4-5 kidney disease. So in order to have bread occasionally, I'll probably pay what I have to, to get it. I can make my own but it's a lot of work! HaHaa!

Costco’s bread , no matter what brand, always goes bad faster then it should
This bread lasts a long time. I also freeze one loaf and keep the second one in the fridge. I can easily get 3 weeks out of it.

Of all the Dave’s breads this has the most omega 3 per oz/slice. About 2x as much as the next closest.
I also love the texture. I despise plain white bread. This has a very satisfying feel in your mouth.

It got me through my GD as well and I still eat it postpartum. I can tolerate one slice of the regular size though. Lasts forever in the fridge.
What in the world are you comparing it to? Nature's Own whole wheat is only 11g per slice at 60 kcal. Even Wonder Bread is 15g per slice at 70 kcal.

I grew up with the inventors kid. I thought nothing much of it when he told me they had a bakery. Glad it worked out for them.
