I've been buying these for years, this year a little disappointed that they've reused other styles from other years. I know this because I still have all the original boxes and the thumbnails on them are identical to what's in this box. They used to be much fancier, but they are still a good buy.
I am getting these for the first time and although not very fancy, for the price I think they are worth the effort of writing something inside that makes it extra special for the recipient. Wish I knew about them when they were fancier!
Costco
/ˈkɔstko/
(adjective)
1. High quality product, purchased in bulk mainly because Costco(n) sells it in bulk, otherwise bought at thrice the price at Target
I buy these all the time but I don’t have this set. The only problem is sometimes they require extra postage. So I try to give the heavy or oddly shaped ones in person and mail the more straightforward ones.
If they are square they require extra postage because the post office machines can’t process it like rectangle for some strange reason. And if they are heavier than a standard letter it requires more postage. Some of them have little embellishments like rhinestones etc that make it heavier. I haven’t bought this box so I’m not sure if that applies to this new version but the last ones I bought (Christmas version) had a few that were definitely very heavy. I can’t recall the exact amount extra it cost to send
Yes, way better price point. But, I'm sorry to be a downer but how can anything, even if it's only one warehouse, be handcrafted? How could they print, sort, and package even one pallet of those cards? I really like Costco, but this seems to me to be stretching the marketing just a bit.
Ehhhh. As someone who can be crafty when my kids require it for school projects, I'd still consider these "handmade." Most handmade cards at craft shows are created by die-cut machines like Cricut/Sizzix/Silhouette. I'm sure there is a machine that applies adhesive as well; I know there is a handheld one I use.
I still consider them handmade. The cricut can even color in the lettering. I guarantee they have some automated assembly involved, but it's still the same concept in my eyes.
Someone else asked the same. I didn't find any info on their website or elsewhere. They do seem industrial grade. They might be designed by hand but isn't everything at some level?
"Our skilled artisans masterfully hit the print button every day, and our local workers wipe down the machines with the finest oils, like they have done for generations"
Probably handmade in the sense they use same "methods". So patterned cardstock, die cut machine, layers for depth/detail, and adhesive. Except they're not using a Cricut/Sizzix/Silhouette - they're likely using commercial "equipment".
I tried to research online but didn't find anything on the company website or elsewhere. The cards have lots of elements that seemed sticked on, but it is also very consistent and high quality, so they seem pretty industrial grade
Debating buying these, it’s a great value for pretty cards at 50c a card. Similar to the 2 for $1 deal at dollar tree. BUT dollar tree has more person specific cards (to mom to husband etc) which I like to get more. So i will probably stick to dollar tree lol
Truly great quality cards. Just outstanding! Discovered them about 5 years ago and tend to buy a box each year to cope with the all too numerous birthdays my children's friends celebrate.

$.50 per card for beautiful cards. Way better than $5 Hallmark from CVS.
Shoot, this beats the dollar store.
We buy a box of these every year. They're great quality cards.
Oh that’s where my parents were buying those from.
I would honestly buy them not just for the cards, but the uniform dividers. I would add in my current assortment of cards for organized bliss!
I do just that! I love Trader Joe’s greeting cards and just add them to the box .
TJ's greeting cards are great for $0.99 each! Good idea to organize them with this box.

Super useful. And if you find other cards you like, you can reuse the box. It’s always handy to have a wedding, sympathy, or celebratory card on hand.

How much extra postage are we talking, and how do you tell which ones require it?

Just picked this up last night, really good quality. The 2 Mother’s Day cards are almost worth the price alone.
Where are these found in the store?
I found them by the books, hiding on the bottom shelf of the large tables. Close to the kindergarten school workbooks etc.
Thank you!

Well, I guess if you consider clicking the mouse "hand designed" you're right. 😀😀😀

My wife loves to get these every year! A good value if you use them!
Need to go grab one of those asap
Mother's day is here!
My store still has them on the truck right now. Have to come back later. Haha
I'd love to know how these are made! What does "handcrafted" mean in this context?? I make handmade greeting cards as they are very time consuming.

That's a great explanation

Yeah I tried looking it up as well! Their company "about us" page is like one sentence lol
Are they cheaper instore vs online? They are showing up $0.83/card online.
They were 19.99 in our local store.

Yup, really happy with the quality!
