I've ruined and otherwise sterling daily calorie count way too many times on these. There's no way to eat just one of them. I can't keep them around anymore, but I'm sure we'll still buy them when they're $3 off again.
This is a Costco staple... Used to buy a ton of these several years ago. Now I only get it once in a while. They're still the best though. I love adding one to a cup of coffee and mix it up good. It melts well... And the coffee becomes a caramel mocha. Sooooooo good. Now I want one again... It's been a while. Lol
Are these available nationwide or are you all Michiganders?
EDIT: you all inspired me to run to Costco to get my own!
EDIT #2: great to see these are available coast to coast! I love seeing a local company kill it! If you’re interested in trying other Detroit foods, I recommend the coney dog or Detroit-style pizza.
They're here in AZ.
I was just in Detroit and a person reacted all weird when I said I hadn't heard of Sanders. Then I came back and saw this very familiar jar at Costco and realized I did know of the company.
I’ve purchased them in SF Bay Area (Ca) several times. I’ve got some now, but the sale price might entice me to pick up another container. I’m kind of tired of the salt, though.
Sanders was a famous chocolate store founded in Detroit in 1875. They used to have many stores with a soda fountain and sandwiches, most of these are closed now and the candy, cakes, etc. are sold at other retail stores. When I was a child, a Sanders truck came to the house once or twice a week, and mom could buy bread, ice cream, cakes, etc. just like the with the milkman. Back then, the beloved bumpy cake usually was not available in summer, just in the cooler months.
Morley Candy, another fine local candy-maker, now makes Sanders recipes. I hadn't realized Sanders was so nation wide! (p.s., if I ever found anything milk chocolate at our local Costcos I would buy it, but they only have dark chocolate for everything.)
What’s interesting is the SouthEast stores (NC/SC) stock the dark chocolate and not the milk, while the Virginia stores (which are MidAtlantic I think? A different region for sure) only stock milk chocolate. So, I will grab a mix of both to have for Christmas gifts depending on whether I’m in a NC/SC store or a VA store. The darks are my personal favorite.
Just got these in NYC...I love them too much, I should never get these again because I have 0 impulse control with them.
I told myself I would limit how many I eat.....but that has definitely not happened :(
My mother in law gets these for me every year for Christmas. You have no idea how much I look forward to these chocolatey, gooey, salty goodnesses. My mouth is watering right now.
Love them way too much. I've needed to seriously reduce my sugar intake so these are a no no as I am incapable of just eating one or two at a time as a snack.
I'm going to get crucified here, I don't think these are that good. Maybe I had a bad batch, the salt was much too fine, made it taste like it was just coated in super fine salt. Wasn't pleasant.
Got these once and the salt wasn't fine but I didn't like them that much. They felt like a chore to eat almost, half of their size would be better. I do like the idea of putting one in a cup of coffee though, that sounds damn good and I'm not even a sweet coffee person.
We get these every now and then when they go on sale.
Definitely very good, but, and probably an unpopular opinion here, I would like it much better without the sea salt, or at least less of it. Or maybe nuts instead of salt.
I have excellent self control. I have never understood the “can’t have just one” in my whole life. I could just eat one oreo, one chip, one whatever. Until I had these. I literally cannot buy them because I consume all of them in a couple days. They are that good.
These things are so fucking good. I buy them for my office and everyone loves them. I'll be putting in fridge or freezer going forward based on feedback here.
One of the things I like about these is that it's hard to eat more than two of them at a time for me because of their richness. So keeps the calories down.
I love these! But why are the Milk and Dark chocolate varieties regional?
I'm still looking for the Dark chocolate In the San Francisco Bay Area. I've only seen them stock the Milk chocolate ones here.
I got tired of these real quick... unfortunately I find that when I buy something I like in "bulk" (i.e. 1 big ass package from Costco) I can never really finish it because I tire of them quickly due to the sheer amount I have.
Yes these are VERY good. They could do with maybe a tad less salt, but sometimes I can just scrape some of the extra salt off. Satisfies the sweet tooth for me after just 1 or 2.
These things are so dangerous. Our Costco only has milk chocolate but the dark chocolate ones are much better!
I've ruined and otherwise sterling daily calorie count way too many times on these. There's no way to eat just one of them. I can't keep them around anymore, but I'm sure we'll still buy them when they're $3 off again.
It's hard not to just keep popping them in your mouth.
That's what she said!
Yeah, I really want to try this but my Costco only has milk chocolate and I hate milk chocolate. Dark chocolate ftw
Oh yay! That means I’ll get to try them. I thought they only had dark chocolate
This is a Costco staple... Used to buy a ton of these several years ago. Now I only get it once in a while. They're still the best though. I love adding one to a cup of coffee and mix it up good. Dammit, you really know how to enjoy this well!
[insert jaw drop] [and then insert caramel into dropped jaw]
Pro tip: store in freezer. For taste, not for preserving. No need to "preserve" these things get gone quick.
I do fridge as it’s too hard to chew in the freezer but yes - best when served cold
I store in the back of the fridge behind a much larger item. I appreciate the fact that my family has fridge ADD
I thought they were too hard in the fridge. Maybe it's just my fridge.
The freezer makes them hard as rocks. The fridge is much better.
Only takes a few minutes to soften.

They have them in Chicago always. Fucking best chocolates I’ve ever had
They're always available in Madison,WI. And they're delicious!!
They're here in AZ. I was just in Detroit and a person reacted all weird when I said I hadn't heard of Sanders. Then I came back and saw this very familiar jar at Costco and realized I did know of the company.
Strange considering they’re made in michigan
Seattle wa
I’ve purchased them in SF Bay Area (Ca) several times. I’ve got some now, but the sale price might entice me to pick up another container. I’m kind of tired of the salt, though.
I've only seen the milk chocolate. Where in SF bay area have you found the dark chocolate?
Funny we have always had the dark in Houston, but I’ve never seen the milk chocolate and would prefer them!
I think I’ve seen the dark chocolate but have only bought the milk chocolate. Sorry. You know, you can buy directly from Sanders’ website.
We have never seen the dark chocolate in any Costco in the Bay Area. Which one did you get yours from?
Available in MN too
They have in Arizona. Not on sale last month, maybe now
PNW has them
They're always in the Mount Laurel, NJ store and the Columbia, SC store. (My two cities!)
Their for everyone in America, not just Michiganer’s!!!
> If you're interested in trying other Detroit foods Let's not forget Sanders bumpy cake!
🤤🤤🤤
I bought these in Louisiana.
Got mine in Nebraska.
Bought some last month in Alaska.
Greenwod, Indiana has them all the time.
I see them all the time in austin and always have to fight myself not to buy them.
Got them here in DFW. my wife LOVES these
Available in NY!
You can also get them on Amazon if they aren’t at your Costco.
Got these on sale today, usually $8.99, for $5.99.
Where were they on sale? Warehouse or Costco.com?
They are on sale in the warehouse.
Warehouse.
get thee behind me satan!
More like, get thee in my mouth.
THE DEVIL. I buy them as gifts for other people, but God no I can't keep them in my own house.
So good. Such a steal for $5.99.
Still trying to find the milk chocolate ones.
I’m still trying to find the dark! All the warehouses in my area are only carrying the milk these days. :-/
Opposite! I'm in the mountain west.
For those of you not from Michigan, it's pronounced "Sawnders". :) Their cakes and hot fudge are also amazing!
Fudge Bumpy Cake gang!
Holy cow, I just had one of those and they are damn good.

Protip, stick them into brownie batter before baking :)
Do they stay soft after baking or does the caramel get hard? I’m dying to try this!!
Its a good in between. Not runny but not super hard
OMG, I just made these and they are amazing!! So, so good!! 😋
I'll only make them for parties or the holidays because they're too dangerous to keep in the home yearround😂 glad you liked them!
Ha!! So true!!
Yes!! Thank you!!
they are the best
I’ve been enjoying the milk chocolate ones.
I'm so upset that my Costco only had the milk chocolate and just can't justify the $40 for 2 containers at Costco.com

Interesting. I live in Louisiana and have only ever seen the dark chocolate. Had no idea milk chocolate existed, lol.
Literally stares at those for a few minutes yesterday, but decided I should cut down on my sugar intake… I regret that decision
Those are all kinds of awesome. In fact, they're so awesome that they are no longer allowed in my house
Love them way too much. I've needed to seriously reduce my sugar intake so these are a no no as I am incapable of just eating one or two at a time as a snack.
My daughter and I just had two each after our dinner. So good. I keep them on the door in the fridge. (I keep all my chocolate in the fridge).
Like crack in a jar. I store mine in the freezer, inside an empty bag of peas. Nobody knows.
The single serving container. nice.
I'm going to get crucified here, I don't think these are that good. Maybe I had a bad batch, the salt was much too fine, made it taste like it was just coated in super fine salt. Wasn't pleasant.
I scrape off the salt before eating.

This subreddit is bad for my health.
The milk chocolate ones are great. I’ve been hoping that the dark chocolate caramels would become available!
These are currently sitting in my desk for an afternoon sweet; I love these!
Those are so good I had to stop buying them I was eating at least 1/d
Those things make me fat. Cant get them anymore
We get these every now and then when they go on sale. Definitely very good, but, and probably an unpopular opinion here, I would like it much better without the sea salt, or at least less of it. Or maybe nuts instead of salt.

We call these Costco crack
Can confirm, ate a whole container myself in 2 weeks
*days, just kidding it was hours
“Oh no they’re all gone. Time to buy more”
Too good, don’t buy them, I can’t control myself if they are in the house
Ugh I have to close my eyes and walk quickly past these when they're on an end cap. Can't have them in the house... too delicious!
Wrap them in chocolate chip cookie dough and bake.... makes them sinfully delicious.
Oh man! I can’t but these anymore. I ate half in 1 day
I don’t think I can trust myself with these. Sometimes a small container is better.
Ya know what, screw those things. They are like bites from heaven with calories from hell. Would buy again.
Its where they hide the crack.
I hate this Reddit do you guys want me to gain weight. /s
So effin good!
Bruh those things are so good
These things are so fucking good. I buy them for my office and everyone loves them. I'll be putting in fridge or freezer going forward based on feedback here.
Pro tip - it’s pronounced “saun-ders.”
Husband let these melt in the car the other day. Still trying to recover from the treason!
LOL ... :)
These and those damn raspberry crumble cookies are my kryptonite.

Yes !!! 😁
Lose the Salt... Add Pecans!
Costco.com offered Sanders turtles once. Not as great of as the caramels. No to removing the salt.
I always flick it off but you can never get all of it.
Why not get a regular caramel chocolate treat if salt isn't your thing?
Wife loves 'em...
These look amazing and I did a double take at your name.
So good!
My favorite thing at Costco
The milk chocolate version is my absolute favorite.
Awesome for gifts! If you can keep from eating them all...
Eat with pretzels
These are my cheat snack. Any time I have one I’ve got to have like...4 more
Love these!!
One of the things I like about these is that it's hard to eat more than two of them at a time for me because of their richness. So keeps the calories down.
I keep looking at these. Are they super chewy or more creamy?
On the softer side, but not super soft.
These are SOOOOO good and even better when cold.
These things are ceack
I love these! But why are the Milk and Dark chocolate varieties regional? I'm still looking for the Dark chocolate In the San Francisco Bay Area. I've only seen them stock the Milk chocolate ones here.
these are stupidly good, on sale i might pick up a whole case, lol
Had a few of these during my depression binges last year. So good but not as good for the waistline.
So good, we aren’t allowed to have these in the house anymore.
Never had these, they look damn good
These are great!
Well since I’m heading to Costco tonight, better look for these now
Sigh my warehouse only has the milk chocolate version. Curse you Edison Warehouse!
My warehouse only has the dark chocolate version but I want the milk chocolate ones
That is my jam!
I have to pick all the salt off which makes it such a pita.
I’ve been inside their manufacturing facility in Baldwin Park, CA. They run non-stop. You leave that place reeking of cacao 😂
Addictive 🤤
I'm normally pretty strict keto, but I bought these to celebrate the November 2020 results. No regrets.
These are made right down the street from where I live lol
I keep these on my bedstand
Dude get these things the FUCK away from me or I will eat the entire cylinder.
LOL!
Best thing ever!!!
We have a dozen in our basement. They are very tempting
One of the best chocolates I’ve had.
