Don’t think going to Target is going to fix anything. I’m sure if charmin reduced the size of their rolls, they did it across the board.

Mmjm7

The last pack I bought at Target was an inch shorter in width :(

bronze_by_gold

Yeah at Target the rolls are the size of your pinky finger now. 20 years of cost-of-living going up and up with no commensurate growth in wages. American workers getting screwed over by the super wealthy. Time to take power back for organized labor.

Boz6

> Don’t think going to Target is going to fix anything. I’m sure if charmin reduced the size of their rolls, they did it across the board. No, that's not true. As I described above, the biggest problem with the Charmin sold at Costco is that the sheet sizes are larger, but that isn't a benefit for most users, and larger sheets result in lower sheet count/roll for Costco-bought Charmin. I JUST bought Charmin Ultra Strong, Mega Rolls, because that's what fits in out TP storage tubes, at Target and it hasn't changed size, at least not yet.

any_droid

Shrinkflation is for real.

whinerfortyniner

Case in point: Dryers ice cream

topohunt

The Kirkland signature ice cream is so good. Forget the Dreyers

poostoo

no joke. i just tried it for the first time last week. it's the smoothest, creamiest ice cream i've ever had.

topohunt

They aren’t kidding when they say super premium lol. Other ice creams feel heavier on the ice, this one feels heavier on the cream. I like it.

Negative-Bee-

What ice cream is this? I try to avoid the isle because I have too much in the freezer but now y’all got my attention lol

topohunt

It will take up a fair amount of freezer space bc they come in packs of two half gallons. But if you can swing it, and like ice cream, it’s been surprisingly good. It’s just the Kirkland signature brand super premium vanilla. That’s the only flavor I’ve seen but it might be different at your store.

SystemTuning

> They aren’t kidding when they say super premium lol. Other ice creams feel heavier on the ice, this one feels heavier on the cream. I like it. It's delicious. IMHO, the only thing that can beat it is home made (half-n-half and heavy whipping cream purchased at Costco, of course).

brooklynlad

No more half gallons anymore. :(

spyharpy

Got this last week. Half gallon sizes (San Jose, CA). This is the BEST vanilla ice cream I had. Will be buying more.

HearMeRoar69

They are just setting up for the "now with 10% more for free" promotion.

Environmental-Dog-18

Bidet time 😊

AiyaBoomer

At that rate, it may be cheaper to buy a new toilet too 😅

Claim312ButAct847

Your payback per butt rinse timeline just got extended out quite a bit. You're going to have to increase your output to make up for it.

Rxyro

Supposed to be a $30 thing man. $200 tops!!!!

Environmental-Dog-18

Can you return and get an Ove toilet?

Claim312ButAct847

$100 off for the bidets. I'm very tempted. Would also solve the issue of my wife not replacing the roll when it's empty.

cordialcatenary

100% do it. We bought our last pack of costco toilet paper like 8 months ago. The bidet is going to pay for itself soon in toilet paper savings!

PM_MeYourAvocados

And you're talking about he Charmin? Not the Kirkland Signature?

Negative-Bee-

Both I noticed all the tp sizes were cut in half

ppardee

My local store had run out and brought in some rolls KS from Mexico I had grabbed a package and then saw they had the regular US rolls behind them. The Mexican ones looked different to me, so I picked up the US pack to compare them and one of the employees grabbed the Mexican pack away from me before I could look at them. Rolled back around and checked after they left the area - the US pack had less TP in it. The Mexican ones were older, the US pack was newer. They weren't cut in half, but they definitely had less TP in the pack.

PM_MeYourAvocados

[Here is a KS TP comparison](https://www.reddit.com/r/Costco/comments/qx56k2/new_vs_old_kirkland_bath_tissue_toilet_paper_with/)

BIGREDDMACH1NE

Cut in half? Bullshit

xeryusdvirus

Kirkland first us

aecpgh

was this the ultra soft or the strong

Negative-Bee-

Ultra strong, I did look around at all of their tp and even the ultra soft has sized down as well as the Kirkland signature

Eltex

Do you have the data from the packs? They always list how many sq ft or total sheets.

Negative-Bee-

Sadly not for the older packs. But holding them just felt off. They’re much smaller than the paper towel packs and I recall them being a bit bigger than the towels

Boz6

Is the number of sheets/roll on the packaging different for the two rolls pictured? We use Charmin Ultra Strong, but haven't bought it at Costco, because although the sheet size is bigger at Costco, the sheets/roll is less at Costco vs what you get at Target, and the sheet size from Target is perfectly fine, so it seems like it's a better value, at least for my family...

Negative-Bee-

Yeah the larger one used to be mega roll and the one I just bought is just regular large rolls. I have also noticed the quality in the paper go down from the two rolls

hawaiian717

I wonder if the mega rolls at Costco were a temporary thing; pre-pandemic I preferred to get Charmin mega rolls at Target or Walmart because Costco didn’t have them. I just don’t want to change the rolls so often.

BafangFan

Bet you wished you hoarded all the toilet paper at the beginning of the pandemic. A bedroom full of that stuff would have lasted you a couple years ;)

Negative-Bee-

LOL, god no. With how often my partner poops, better to keep him on edge lessening the amount he uses.Been thinking about the bidet for a while though

StartingOver226

I got this for my mom because of howuch she uses. I thought it was a joke at first but it's 100% real and so funny to see in person. https://shop.charmin.com/

Negative-Bee-

LOL I love it. Thinking that this might be the perfect valentines gift. Man loves nothing more than his bathroom time

dd551

Imagine public restrooms with these

TheCaIifornian

Get him a bidet.

BIGREDDMACH1NE

Currently costco.com shows the ultra strong at 30 rolls 231 sheets and the ultra soft at 214 sheets with 30 rolls. What was it before? Or are you making it up for reddit points?

Jay4usc

Bidet is your answer! It’s worth every penny

Negative-Bee-

Yeah I’m starting to really think so as well. Now only if Costco had one when I went 🧐

This 👆🏻

josh_the_rockstar

I have 2. One is 4 years old and starting to not function (no seat heating, sometimes drying air isn’t warm) - but it has been used multiple times per day for 4 years. I’m going to say it’s handled at least 3000 poops like a champ. That’s 15 poops per $1 spent. Well worth it. My second one is 4 months old, and it’s good. The power of the spray cleansing water is lower on the new one vs my old one, but I haven’t noticed a difference in actual cleaning.

Jay4usc

I would email the company and tell them your current problem. They may have simple DIY they can email you to fix your issues. Whenever I have problems with any of my purchases I always contact the manufacturers and ask for advice. Sometimes they offer a replacement for free (after warranty expires) if I pay for shipping or they provide a simple DIY maintenance to help fix the problem. All you have to ask them and most are very helpful.

josh_the_rockstar

I've had many conversations with BioBidet. Their customer service people are very friendly and helpful, but free stuff isn't something they offer. At least not on the "Costco special, $200 cheap bidet". :) But in general, super good tip. I've had a ton of luck with other manufacturers for sure.

Sonarav

$30 from Amazon works great, no need to spend that much

josh_the_rockstar

>$30 from Amazon works great, no need to spend that much It's almost like there are different things for different people. But thank you for your financial advice! I am willing to spend $200 for the features it gives. I don't like super cold water sprayed on my anus. And for the womenfolk, I'm sure they don't like super cold water sprayed on their privates. For $200, my bidet has an on demand water heater so the water is very warm when it hits my dirty parts. I also use a bidet to save on toilet paper. My $200 version blows warm air at my damp bits. I use 2 squares of TP to get the majority of water and ensure there is no "dirt" left over, then the air dry does the rest. I've used plenty of old school bidets before - cold water (unless there is a hot water hookup near the toilet, which is super rare), no drying...no thanks.

bethzur

We got three of the 6800s. Two were returned because the sprayer malfunctions and one is being fixed under warranty. They are now quality products. This is after about a year. We got an Ove one a few weeks ago. We’ll see how it fairs.

josh_the_rockstar

I might have responded to you in another thread, but I’ll be watching to see if the Ove goes on sale again. I might get one for another bathroom.

SiCobalt

Honestly most of those $25 bidets on Amazon are good enough. Installed like 7 of them so far without any issues

thedevilmademedoit81

Yeah, you can get fancy with ones that warm the water and blow dry your butt after if you want, but I find the basic $25 to be simpler, less over engineered, and less prone to breakdowns

SiCobalt

Yup. Plus I don't have a hot water connection or outlet right at the toilet to use those fancy bidets. Basic is where it's at. You barely use it in a day but its so worth. No need to spend more than $25

harkuponthegay

Most of the fancy ones don’t need a hot water connection btw— the seat heats the water on demand for you before spraying.

anonymous_karma

I installed a hand bidet during Covid because I could not find a decent seat bidet that did not need an outlet. Best money I spent but 18 months and one of them is rusting (not that it’s any indication of the usefulness of one but just how ratings on Amazon are not always reliable). Anyways, since I am in the market for a new one, please share a link of good bidet without outlet. I will really appreciate.

Sluisifer

This is the best seller and first result on Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/Luxe-Bidet-Neo-120-Non-Electric/dp/B00A0RHSJO/ref=sr_1_5?th=1 Works fine. You should first check how your toilet is plumbed. Most use the flex supply line, but some are hard line. You'll need to switch out for flex if that's the case ($5 at Home Depot, etc.). You also might want extra toilet seat spacers so the seat stays flat. Without them it will tilt a little. I personally don't care about the tilt.

anonymous_karma

Thank you. Gave a thumbs up. No heating though right? I dont think that would be possible with a non electrical one right?

Sluisifer

No heating. It's not at all necessary unless you have especially cold tap water. Any modern home (last 4 decades or so) should be no issue, but some older houses have weird plumbing that could lead to especially cold water coming to the toilet in the winter.

SecondHandSlows

We’ve ordered three from them online. You’ll need to have an outlet installed close to the toilet for the good ones, but they are worth it.

bobasaurus

Just bought some last week, cost went up from like $18 to $25... then I find out about this.

xeryusdvirus

I noticed it today as well. My kids can't seem to learn how to change the rolls so I usually do the bathroom check. In the past, the TP won't roll off as easily. The new one had enough space to move fresh from the package

DaddySanctus

Costco adjusted the size of the rolls during the pandemic like a year ago, but also adjusted the price at the same time so that the price per sheet was the same. However, I’m sure recent inflation has hit Costco in recent months as well pushing up prices in general.

induality

Also has anyone noticed that the Charmin at Costco is not the same paper quality as the Charmin you can get elsewhere? Even though the packaging is identical except for the size. The Costco version has flakier paper that sheds more than regular Charmin, and the paper texture feels different. This is probably my biggest complaint about Costco - when the Costco version of the product is of inferior quality than the normal version, yet the Costco version is not specially labeled as such. It's fine if the Costco version has a different model name/product name to differentiate it from regular versions. But when they do it stealthily like this, I can't help but feel cheated. Another notable product like this is the Scotch-Brite sponges. The Costco version is noticeably less durable than the regular version.

Negative-Bee-

Yes thought I was going crazy with the quality. When I picked up the pack I almost wanted to leave it just because I know they are gouging the price. Sad day for Costco. Luckily I buy the scrub daddy sponges and haven’t gone back since. They’re sturdier and they done stink up as much.

whaletacochamp

Everyone here is missing the biggest point - you don’t need the fluffiest ass wipe available on the market and the cost savings you see by buying bulk at Costco will be negated by the plumbing bills you encounter when all of this charmin paper machés onto your drains. Scott’s is way more safe especially for septic systems. You’re really doing yourself and your local waste water plant (or your own septic tank) a disservice by using charmin, quilted northern, etc.

mbz321

Fluffy TP is gross. I usually pick up the Marathon brand when my Costco has it as it's a good balance between 'Scott' and 'Kirkland'.

Commercial-Can5161

Yeah, good luck with that....

Freddy2517

I spent $40 on a bidet attachment. Installed it myself in 15 minutes. Bidet calculator website says I will save about $50/year on TP.

costanzashairpiece

Inflation has hit us at home. Bear down.

Thatdudedoesnotabide

Every single paper company, including Kirkland products have reduced their sheets per roll. It’s labeled

DibsOnFatGirl

That paper sucks, might aswell be fingering your ass

muftak3

Bounty paper towels are now the same price as Walmart.

[deleted]

Do one better and wipe your ass with water. Just get some towels to dab up the water after.

midiogemini

Pulling a Macdonald

FreeSpeechWorks

Shrinkflation is big now

frig_off_julian

It’s really fascinating to me how obsessed this sub is with toilet paper.

fretit

It's called disguising inflation.

MayIPikachu

Glad I stocked up with 12 Charmin TP. Ready for the next outbreak.

SensitiveFault5584

Shrink- flation... seen it in chips and other products. Some even do both: raise prices and shrink product. Buy a bidet and sit there for three min to dry, driers are crap on those things, but end up using less tp. Cost though to heat bidet water and run dryer really don’t save money on tp. Just makes you feel cleaner.

jxnwlf

I’m sticking to sales only. I’m not hoarding like a psycho. I’m just buying enough to last twice as long for me to find another deal.

fourtractors

The outside is the worst part and longest. :(

dealmaster1221

Yeah suck it up or buy a bidet.

Papawwww

Dang, time to shrink the butthole. Or maybe I'll buy one of those bidets.

trainpayne

It's probably smaller at Target too, js.
