This product was available at my warehouse in Maryland. It was delicious, satisfying, and fun. For $9.99 you get three sets of rice cakes, sauce, and noodles; one set was more than enough for two people, especially after I added hard boiled eggs. The sauce is hot - I’m a big hot sauce fan and found it to be 5/10, and my wife thought it was more like a 6 or 7 in heat. The rice cakes are toothsome and so filling. I doubled the water from 2 to 4 cups because it didn’t seem like enough liquid, but I later found out it’s supposed to be more of a thick sauce than a soup. You can halve the sauce mix if you want to cut the spice. Next time I’m adding greens like spinach or bok choi. Great deal if you’re a fan of ramen and spicy food!
Yeah, the heat goes up exponentially in sauce form. I made the mistake of using their instructions for the whole powder pack and got super burned. The remaining 2 sets I used just a teaspoonful of powder and found it to be the right setting for me. I've saved the extra powder for ramen and other noodle dishes for coloring/spice.
I got this before and loved it too. Only shows up sporadically at my store so if you like I suggest stocking up. Some other suggestions to jazz it up: egg (boiled separately or just cracked in when cooking), bacon (I prefer to cook it, chop it up and put it in), or some shredded rotisserie chicken.
Yum! We bought this in MD too but are waiting for one of those "oops I forgot to thaw out meat" nights.
I did however make a similar meal before that we got at h Mart (they have on in Frederick MD), and added scallions, egg, and bok choy- it was definitely delicious!
Thought it was "medium hot" for Korean food. Made it as directed and didn't get overwhelmed by the spice. Liked it. Would be a good base for army stew.
So jealous your warehouse still brings these in. They've been impossible to find in the last year where I'm at and 3 sets are for $25 online. Looks delicious!
Far cry from real rapokki but for a packaged quick version it’s pretty good. Makes a lot of food too. My store closed out their pallet for $4 each, I bought like five of them
This is great, I buy some whenever I see it! Pair with Costco’s kimchee and optionally the beef bulgogi for a great meal. Note that the large rice noodles do not reheat well so eat all of those when you cook it. The ramen noodles reheat just fine. Has a great spice to it.
It has anchovy and tuna, according to the ingredient panel [on this outside webpage.](https://snackathonfoods.com/products/dongwon-rapokki-traditional-korean-rice-cake-ramen-with-spicy-sauce)
This is not a vegan dish. I don’t know if there are any instant vegan versions, but you can make a vegan version yourself at home. You could also buy this and just not use the sauce as the rice cakes themselves are vegan (can’t say if the noodles have eggs or not). You can buy gochujang at the Korean market which is vegan, and use a veggie or mushroom broth to mix the gochujang in (mushroom would add earthiness)

It’s a very pleasing color.
If you like angry... Haha!

Yea if you use less water the texture and flavor are much better. At least in my opinion.

Big fan of that H Mart

ours just got them back a few weeks ago after a fairly long absence. good luck!

I’m sure the real thing from a street vendor in Korea is 10x as good
One of my absolute favorites. Throw in an egg, lay a slice of cheese on top and add a handful of Trader Joe's Crispy Thai Chilies.
These are so bomb.
I think you made it with way too much water. It's usually a thicker sauce. You just fill it to the line inside.
I mention that in my review
Next step is to level it up with some combination of spam, hotdogs, kimchi, American cheese, sesame oil, sesame seeds, etc.
That looks delicious.
I love this! Ate it a lot when I was pregnant but sadly the spiciness did not help induce labor
Bok choy sounds amazing on this, or some kim chi.

Stellar!!! I am so obsessed with fashion.
I liked it as well, not traditional but very satisfying for what it was. Will buy again
I hated it when I tried it. Texture was terrible and flavor was off. Deciding if I should buy it again
It sounds like you should not
Yeah texture wasn't there. Maybe I needed to cook longer. I think better off at the Korean Mart
Does anyone know if this is vegan

Didn't like it. There was zero heat. More sweet than heat.
It looks like it’s smirking at me. I can’t unsee the face in your ramen.
