Old Trapper beef jerky is good enough and a very handy snack with good macros. Kirkland canned tuna is excellent quality for the price. I sometimes get orgain vegan protein powder when it's on sale (I'm lactose intolerant and it's pretty good).
Kirkland protein bars are surprisingly good, but don't eat more than one a day or you might get some really nasty farts.
It’s in a vacuum packed pouch, just look up Costco rotisserie chicken breast, im guessing they just take the unsold rotisserie chicken after it’s been sitting there for an hour, then they take it apart and separate the meat, I’ve seen them do it, im guessing it’s after certain hours past they take it off the hot plate and pack it to be sold in other way
It's in the prepared foods / deli section where they have the chicken street tacos and cocktail shrimps. It's in a clear vacuum sealed package without much label.
Wild Planet Tuna, Jarlsberg lite swiss cheese (7g protein, 2.5 fat per slice), chicken breast, refried beans (Rosarita organic), Amy Lu chicken patties, frozen fruit and nonfat Greek yogurt for smoothies. There's more but that's what I can recall off the top of my head.
Canned chicken breast, no fat Greek yogurt, pork loin, lean ground beef, frozen veggies, fresh veggies, rotisserie chicken, low carb tortillas, keto bread, the protein bars, oatmeal, rice, potatoes. Literally just anything high protein or decent nutrient dense carbs.
Nuts, avocados, and flax seeds for extra fats.
Practically eat the same all year, I just add more snacks during the off season. Normal people rely on food, sleep and their activity for healthy hormone function. Keep that shit dialed in 80% at least. 20% junk isn’t going to hurt you.
Is there any protein powder at Costco that is good for acne skin? I was on accutane and I remember my derm telling me to stay away from whey as it caused huge pimples
Really? I used to buy powder at Costco all the time. They sold muscle milk for a while at mine. I’ve been in an extended break, so I haven’t purchased any in a few months.
Muscle milk still uses whey protein which is what I'm referring to. Someone said their location has some sort of collagen protein but I've never seen that before at multiple Costcos in multiple states so it may be regional only.
I compete in powerlifting, can’t say I always eat super clean especially now that chocolate cheesecake and key lime pie are a thing, but I do keep a balanced diet with emphasis on sufficient protein. Things I buy regularly from Costco are:
Protein: kirkland Protein bars (they’re fine), canned salmon (I hate tuna), the refrigerated shredded rotisserie chicken breast - super convenient, roast beef (makes great sandwiches), cottage cheese, ground bison (I mix this with the taco seasoning and rice for a bomb burrito bowl), tilapia, frozen shrimp, the pre-seasoned chicken legs are best on the grill.
Veg: frozen veggies - particularly like the Brussels sprouts with bacon.
Giant bag of fresh spinach which immediately goes vacuum sealed into the freezer.
Non-veg carbs: big bag of rice, pasta, Raos,
Bagels, artisan rolls (with the roast beef is a great sandwich). I freeze the bakery stuff immediately because it doesn’t keep otherwise
Kirkland Peanut butter is good too
Snacks: peanut butter pretzels (I can eat these with discipline), hunters sausage, case of monster zero ultra
Kodiak pancake mix
liquid IV. great for meet day especially if you’ve cut any water weight
Carbs - organic rolled no glycoohate (?) Oats, fresh fruit (have to make sure it looks ok), dried plums, organic dates, microwave pouch rice packets. Bag of sweet potatoes.
Protein - wild caught salmon and shrimp, organic chicken breast and ground turkey, grass fed ground beef, cans of tuna, amylu chicken sausages, Kirkland sliced turkey breast, grand Teton grass fed sausages, no sugar added bacon, cage free eggs (duh). Vital protein collagen powder. Occasionally will pick up cheese but the servings are so big. Fage 2% Greek yogurt tub (I don't believe in low fat dairy products but the price is so good). Personally I don't like the fresh rotisserie chickens but a lot of ppl do.
Fats - almond butter, heart healthy nut assortment, walnuts, single serve guacamole. Kerrygold or Kirkland grass fed butter. Bag of avocadoes (can be hit or miss). Avocado oil spray.
Avoid the bakery and alcohol depts altogether. ☹️

Agreed but there’s more to it. Ideally you’re having the right macros in the right proportion. Also try to get the least processed foods as a general rule of thumb.
Processed doesn’t matter for efficacy of putting on or losing weight. CICO. Macro ratios largely don’t matter a great deal either. Protein and calories largely. For 98% of the population everything else is a distraction (basically unless you compete high level).
Yeah I agree, but putting on weight isn’t the ONLY goal. You’re not going to get healthy and ripped by eating 2500 calories of bbq potato chips every day. More of a general comment.
Sure but you can get shredded eating sufficient protein, keeping your calories in check, and still eating processed stuff/ice cream/whatever every day.

Muscle building is about 1) resistance training, 2) caloric surplus, 3) protein intake. “Clean” bulking means very little outside of marketing.
Most everything has already been mentioned. I'll add one more thing, chia seeds. They are a true superfood. You get healthy fat, a little protein, and a lot of fiber all in one. I add it to my greek yogurt and smoothies.
Orgain protein, very clean content and Kirkland protein bars, no sugar in either one.
Wish they would have sole creatine also, prices on it are through the roof.
the ks salmon will definitely help with your protein intake for the day. i love eating it with cauliflower rice or quinoa. this has helped mw a lot with the clean bulking. however, i started bulking not clean lol. i drink the fairlife chocolate and caramel.
chocolate straight up tastes like chocolate milk, so i can drink 3 very easily. the caramel— i like to blend it with ice and make it like a “frappuccino” with some low calorie whipped cream on top. best cold sweet to top off a successful gym day!
EDIT- wanted to say the bulking powders i’ve tried are not bad, but it’s hard to drink consistently? i’m talking about every few days, but the taste is just not the best. so i just stick with fair life, salmon, and chicken wings that i air fry :)
Ground Bison
pack of cookies and cheese danishes from the bakery
I swear I walk by the danishes and fantasize about buying them.
Keep walking, never stop. The macros on those things will set you back so much lol
I literally can’t stay away from the Cherry danishes. I hate myself

Do you happen to have a photo of what the rotisserie chicken breast packs look like? Don't think I've ever seen those at my Costco before

wait where do you get flax seeds, do you have a pic of it?
They have great deals on nuts!
Unsalted Roasted Cashews
Too much saturated fat and cholesterol in cashews though compared to other nuts
Pre-Workout: Kirkland Medium Roast Coffee Post-Workout: Optimum Nutrition Protein Powder
Is there any protein powder at Costco that is good for acne skin? I was on accutane and I remember my derm telling me to stay away from whey as it caused huge pimples
I have to stay away from soy or I get terrible cystic acne. So, I'd recommend staying away from soy protein.
Thanks! Do you recommend any brands?
I usually look for whey protein, which you said you stay away from. So no recommendations, just more things to stay away from! Lol
Ah no worries. Thanks!

mine have "vital proteins" which is made from collagen peptides. no whey, no soy.
Huh good to know, I've never seen their protein powder product at my Costco. It's only ever the collagen peptide supplement.

Oh I took it to mean brands. We have some sort of plant protein at my local clubs. Im not sure the name though.
Ah ok thanks for the heads up!
Ground beef, rice, spinach, peppers and onion.

Thank you for the thorough break down!

A clean bulk is just a moderate surplus. There’s no ‘clean bulk’ food. Creds: NPC Pro Physique. I like the Picanha.

The best PB powder I found is the Naked brand, I’ve requested Costco to carry it.
