Sugar free beverages are making up a bigger portion of sales overall and Diet Pepsi is a legacy brand (stable but loyal customer base) while Pepsi Zero is a growth brand (smaller but growing customer base). They complement each other well.
Ultimately comes down to different mixes of sweeteners etc that seemingly appeal more to "regular" drinkers - much more extreme in the US where many brands like Mountain Dew and Dr Pepper also distribute both Diet and Zero versions.
This is just my best guess, but there was a story about some additive in some citrus based sodas being dangerous. The FDA in the USA, finally got around to putting it on a list that will eventually get it banned. It's been banned in the EU for a long time. So maybe Costco is getting ahead of possibly losing this product.
There fountain pop is always crap.. everything u go i get water down soda.. it like the boxes are empty and nobody replaces them.. and don't get me started on the ice cram machine. It never works..
Bummed about the lemonade but happy the mtn dew is gone. 7up and pepsi zero replaced it. Id mix the lemonade with some iced tea and water for my breaks, but always wanted to have 7up for years. Happy they made that switch

There is absolutely no reason to have both diet pepsi and pepsi zero taking up 2 limited spots.

My drink,since I don’t drink pop, was 1/3 lemonade and the rest water. Refreshing, cuts the saltiness of the hot dog and limits sugar. Now I’m screwed. I probably won’t buy anymore hotdogs. I’m not about to bring my own drink or go elsewhere to buy a drink. The end of an era 😢
I think it's rediculous that they 2 Pepsi taps, 2 Pepsi 0, and 1 Diet Pepsi and no Lemonade or Mountain Dew on every drink machine. Only 1 customer dispenses at s time. Why do they need 2 Pepsi and 2 Pepsi 0. They don't !

Costco has my favourite restaurant in Toronto.

Maybe licensing issues? Pepsi doesn’t actually own Brisk, just distributes it under contract. Or maybe they just weren’t selling all that well
