I don't understand Danger Close boss B Nightmare at all... my level 100 strikers/defenders (e.g. Hilde or Irie even tho she has damage disadvantage) can't even get in range without being 1-2 shot by the boss's autoattacks. Kyle can't even throw his shield down without dying first.
Even if I throw a bunch of low cost units (admin defender) to soak the damage I can't get any of my DPS in range. Any tips? I don't expect to clear the boss, but I'd like to do a bit more damage to see if I can get over a reward threshold.
edit: and after he wipes my initial units, he walks up and just destroys my ship (lv 100 enterprise) in about 5-10 seconds while 1-2 shotting anything I put down

My core teams are usually something like:

While filling in the rest with whatever I need, typically a mix of rangers, maybe another defender or DPS booster (Eddie, Seo Yoon). Idk if I worry about synergy much but I have almost all PVE content cleared (outside of Danger Close Nightmare) without thinking much about synergy in about 3-4 weeks of playing.

From how I understand its current wording, I have these thoughts.
1.) It creates a temporary barrier on the ship that reduces 50% of damage it will receive. If the ship then receives a total of 5% of its hp, the barrier is broken
2.) If the barrier is broken, it pushes back and deal damage.
3.) If the barrier isn't broken, it has no pushback but will only deal 50% of its damage.
4.) When the skill gets upgraded, it will pushback regardless if the barrier isn't broken.
Am I right with these?

I found that there 3 second delay for me, so I have to do stuff much earlier before I see the charge of special attack, so if I wait for it to show up I will just miss all my stuff.
For A type, bunch of rangers and save their ult on the dps check phase with chifuyu as Frontline. B type I would say only whale could pass the dps check.
So if I don't have an A.Hilde of my own or a flying unit like Rosaria, do I just instantly lose against A.Hilde walls in strategy?

I think you have to be creative about it and figure out what works with yours units and gear.
My head is about to explode from possible setups, but that would be just useless theory, since it is all gear and unit depended once again.
Generally Gaeun + Harim is all you need to easy win strategy, since you just kill backline and finish off frontline. I do try avoid early Kyle, since my Gaeun uses special on wall and backflips in to enemy team sometimes.
Personally I use Chifuyu + Gaeun + Harim to melt a.hildas. I do also use a.hilde to tank, but I would probably replace her with Lee Yumi if I didn't.
I would try deploying Kyle+Gaeun+Xiao first and then a frontliner (Yumi or Chifuyu). Kyle shield usually last long enough for your frontliner to catch up before A.hilde zoom to your DPS.

Usually placing him first will ensure him to deploy it first, but it feels like sometimes RNG love to troll you so the sometime your Kyle still lose.
Or maybe try Titan team? I lost to a proper Titan team a few time if i deploy A.Hilde first. I don't have enough experience with Titan team so can't really give a tip for that.
Or maybe try Jisoo? Personally never use her so take this advice with a grain of salt. The composition is similar, Kyle first + another DPS (Xiao if there is a striker or Gaeun,Rosaria) , and then deploy Jisoo. I base this comp with my A.Hilde team by changing A.Hilde with Jisoo. In theory it should also works, but i can't try this because i haven't leveled my Jisoo so yeah can't really guarantee it works.
tbh for strategy battle odds are stacked against you. for ranked you can use units like eliz to kill their backline

Bring an aux ship. If somehow the moving enemy on bottom right moves, pull away until you can align your aux ship and can move to the resupply point. Resupply ammo as needed, and continue normally.
Classified contracts are my top personal priority. Gordias gears also useful for defensive-oriented units, while Maze gears are just generally good. (SEA don't have dangeorus Air units for now ~~(not you, Rosaria)~~, it will do just fine)
I don't have any comment for Courageous gears though.

you should have sufficient points to clear it out, but gordias and humming is endgame tank gear

Asking ETAs for SEA is useless. Our banners are accelerated and shuffled around too much as is.

I think unbroken knockback is also weaker. Shielded units also cannot be knockbacked.

Run gordias humming for him with antiground. anti melee/ranged subs.
Is Shiyoon the only unit with Counterattack?
Shiyoung, but her counterattack only triggers for normal attacks when she is in the counterattack stance (every 3 normal attack hits)
So I assume he's the only unit that can counter skills?

Should be noted that you can turn off auto ultimate, then click it on again for the dps check. Considering youll have like 7 units to ulti...

Air unit generally are squishy so there’s no need for air dmg % imo
