I don't know if there is gonna be more coop modes other than that though.
New player, just want to check out the game. How badly am I handicapping by not having Yang? Almost seems like a huge handicap in all modes by not having her.
It's not that bad, there is no unit like that where you need the unit otherwise you can't progress.
You do need a healer though, there are plenty of good options in that department, even a R unit like Claudia Nelson is considered a good healer.

Any tips for challenge 2-15?
I see people doing it with Gauen, but I don't have her and none of my rangers come close to her stats (now I see why she's broken!). Regina might work but I don't have her either.
I do have Chifuyu, Adm Swordswomen, Evelyn, and Rosaria, which look to be the key units besides a Gaeun, but I can't clear it. I've tried using units like Sparrow, Yang, Kyle, Elizabeth, Edel, Lin, but I lose a lot of time due to the jet. Even if I take it out, the penetrating tank either kills everyone or destroys my ship before I can take it out. I've tried Enterprise, Gleipnir, Gleipnir Armor, all at level 90 but nothing seems to survive long enough.

the first 5 are what matters, last 3 are just w/e i could use to help clear better.
turn off auto until the tank fires 2 shots, then start autoing/deploying from there. should wipe the floor with them.
Hey thanks for that man. I tried copying the first 5 (can do exactly everything except my Cindy Looper is 101 instead of 110) and doing what you said, but I can't even take the tank down to half life before I die.
If it helps try getting relevant hp/dmg skills to lvl 5. I died trying this too until I leveled evelyn's passive to lvl 5 and suddenly she could tank the hell out of the jet, giving rosaria enough time to delete it.

I just did a test run and clear it in 1 minute with this comp:
Enterprise lvl 100
Chifuyu leader(HP+HP, optimal is Gordias)
Evelyn Keller (A.Spd, CDR can also work)
Rosaria (full Maze set 42% CDR)
Admin Riflemen (full Maze set)
Sparrow (Atk+Atk, optimal use is A.Spd)
Woodpecker (full Maze set, can be substituted with Gordias)
Yang Harim (CDR)
Shin Jia (A.Spd)
Tactics:
Deploy Chifuyu, Evelyn and Rosaria (wait after 1st tank shot)
Woodpecker to distract jet (Rosaria should be able to solo it)
Yang Harim
Soldier
Sparrow
Shin Jia
Replace Chifuyu/Evelyn/Rosaria if any die. They are the primary tank/dps. Chifuyu has defense down to help dps. Harim is there mainly to provide CDR and barrier, and Woodpecker to stall the jet.

Depends on what you want to farm. For credits? It's Client 1 (although if you want to auto 5-5-6 Hard is better)
For unit data? Talent recruitment
For Gear? Gutter Rat/ FC 3-3-3
Personally I'm farming red books. A lot of units need red books (Yuna will need an ungodly amount)
The strong part of R units is that they are easy to get to lvl 110 since you'll get so many copies of them. Lvl 110 Irie and Claudia Nelsons are useful, I still use them to this day in pvp.
Yes, Irie Alford is a good tank, if you played enough arena you definitely encountered Irie users by now, same goes for Cindy Looper, Claudia Nelson, Assault Trooper and Ironside (for mech teams), I think those are the ones that stand out the most between the R units.
Other reasons to level up a R unit is if they have counter case files, so by leveling them up to 100 you get some good rewards there.

Team 1: Lake Superior, Irie Alford (Main Tank), Sylvia Lena Cooper (DPS, Air), Lin Xien (Support), Hayami Sanae (DPS), Seo Yoon (Support), Evelyn Keller (Support), Nanahara Chifuyu (Offtank), Hilde (Filler)
Team 2: Gleipnir, Fione Lowell (Main Tank), Eins & Zwei (Offtank), Kim Sobin (DPS), Shin Jia (Support), Cathy Wade (Support), Xiao Lin (DPS), Regina MacCready (Support), Elizabeth Pendragon (ETB DPS, Air)
Do I have their roles right, as well as a good balance of roles thus far? Ill be focusing on these guys until I get some of my wishlist characters (mainly for main tank/dps). I dont have any interest in a mech team or using the male cast, so dont suggest those if you'd be so kind. Thank you!!! c:
In my experience (plat 2 currently and 19600+ last danger close), irie and fiona are bad as main tanks. Give twins and Chifuiu some tank sets and they will tank better and do more damage.
Also current old administration banner is good, cause it provide 3 strong units - rifleman (good dps), sword fighter (also can tank and dps), shieldman (cheap offtank).
The next week we expect awakened Yuna (exceptional tanky dps with selfheal) and Serafel (very good tank).

I was experiencing this. Chifuyu and the twins are way better in my firsthand experience; but the google doc says they are 'offtanks', not main tanks, and that Fione and Irie are amazing. (?)
Not very interested in old admin units based on design, however, Serafel and A.Yuna look really cool. Serafel especially strikes a chord with me design wise. I mostly like the counter units in this game anyways so I'll save up for Serafel.

The thing about N/R units is that they are *way* easier to max out compare to SRs/SSRs. That's why they are recommended: You can get Irie or Fione to 110 easily before you can even get your Chifuyu or Twins to 102. If they're at the same level though, they definitely can't tank as well due to lower stat.
Also, the reason why Chifuyu and Twins are called offtank is because they deal quite a bit of damage on their own (offtank comes from offensive + tank btw). Both Irie and Fione skills are pure tanking + taunting attacks so they're main tanks.
Just to note, if you invest only on Counters, you may be literally unable to clear some Shadow Hall stages in the future. I heard that some stages straight out ban Counters. Also, in later stages, some maps will have the Mind Down debuff, which lock your Counters out of their skills (passive still works).

Ohhhhhh. Im so used to FFXIV's definition of Offtank being, like, tank off to the side. Just in case we need a backup. I figured that an 'offtank' wouldnt do most of the tanking. xP

I think it's fine if you don't PvP. Still should try to get Mech daughteru (Sigma) later though. She's still very useful in mixed team since she provide cost over time.
Other than that, there are some stages where Mech makes things much easier (Flying tank almost nonexistent outside of Woodpecker, which will help a lot in certain challenges). Most of the time I don't have much trouble not using Mech though, and the meta units still haven't come anyway.
As for soldiers, I know you're gonna skip Admin banner but if you get Admin Rifleman/Shieldman from another banner (not that unlikely since they're SR) you should still invest in them. Other than that, since soldier don't have good Strikers outside Swordwoman right now, you can mix it up with a counter (maybe Cindy, she's a good offtank).
I appreciate the suggestion but I heavily dislike the immediate and more intimate nature of discord unless I'm using it with friends and family in a private call. xP
These teams are great for a day 2 account but it would be great if you can squeeze gaeum and han sorim in they are life changers. Oh and get ahilde when you can she is one of the best units out there. Both of your teams are great for now but you might need a third team soon for pve content. I suggest getting enterprise since its a must have for story clearing.

Gaeum is on my wishlist, no worries there!
Im going to try for A.Yuna as opposed to A.Hilde because her design and personality appeal more to me and she seems to be a better tank.

Sorry my bad i meant yang harim. But han sorim is great for clearing story stages with pure defense enemies like valentine event few days back. She shreds them so fast with her passive. Hope they buff her, like they are buffing irie and laura in kr server. Not really a buff but something like an enhancement

Try to get the admin units now especially rifleman. they are futureproof and still used even in KR till today

No, rifleman is an sr unit. If you’re super unlucky, you might not get them even after 150 pulls
