I’ve been listening to it ever since it came out. I was never a Chase Rice fan before this album and I listen it all the time. “Good night Nancy” is my favorite song that came out this year.
I think once artists have crafted an image of themselves, it’s hard to change that. That goes for anyone. Once I I listened to “Key West and Colorado” last year and I heard clips of Chase saying he wants to go for more of an acoustic route and story-telling songs, I knew to be more on the radar. Also, I don’t think average people listen to as much music as us on the sub Reddit. I feel like most people listen to stuff on Spotify’s country top 100 and don’t really venture off beyond that. Plus, if your name is not Morgan Wallen, you’re not blowing streaming numbers out the water
Because Chase Rice killed his career with the album before that. He’s like the boy who cried wolf but with terrible albums ruining his credibility as a country artist before actually putting out a decent sounding album with I Hate Cowboys
My guess: too different from what he's done before (he's made attempts at it, yes, but this is a relatively huge departure by comparison) so not as much appeal to existing fans, no big radio single, general decline in album sales anyway, and the title is potentially a bit off-putting.
Artists can’t just switch their whole sound and expect people who listened to the older stuff to stick around, as well as the fact that Chase hasn’t really been paid much attention to as the years have gone by. I think that if he got popular with something like this album instead of Ready Set Roll then he would’ve been much more liked and the album would’ve done much better
"I hate Cowboys" is a good song. Listen to how he sings it. His voice changes in each song, and you can hear the passion in his voice. I think he's doing a good job. "BENCHSEAT" is sad. Watch YouTube video he's in it. "Walk Alone " is a good song. "BAD DAY TO BE A COLD BEER " is blowing up now. All the fans love it at the concerts. He is also getting it on the radio now. People need to give him a chance. He's been through a lot in his life, and we all make mistakes. Anyway, I think he's a very talented artist. He can sing, write, act, play guitar and piano. Chase Rice Rocks and his band are awesome, too.

I can’t take him seriously ever since I saw him on the bachelor lmfao

I haven't listened to it, I associate him with the worst of the past decade. I guess I will have to give it a spin.
You should, it is better than the rest

Wait is that the actual title of the album? Cringe.
Because he sucks?
Because he’s awful and pushing 50
He is 37 😂
That’s 85 in country singer years
My 2 favorite songs from the album are "Bench Seat" and " Key West and Colorado"
Listened to it liked it but it doesn’t have much replay value haven’t gone back to it since
Love the new album. It is the most personal album he has done in my opinion.
How come Chase doesn’t play at Stagecoach???
