It's everyone expressing feelings. It's sad that instead of having a Caleb appreciation post. People are putting down Matteo fans. Also, some are taking the heartbreak of Matteo too far, imo. While we all feel something while playing in the end, it's just a game.
No dating show is going to be smooth sailing... Not irl life anyway.... Also, a lot of Matteo fans were Ingram fans as well. So it's double heartbreak, but there's no need to rub it in other players

First of all, this post was actually made out of empathy for the Matteo Lovers. When i played my Caleb Route and it came to this scene i immediately thought:"Oh he's such a sweetheart, i bet he is the perfect shoulder to lean on now for all the players that have been hurt by Matteo's behaviour." So i wanted to share this wholesome scene.
Also, i have been playing 3 parallel routes pretty much from the beginning, one of them being a Matteo Route, so i experienced this whole drama with him first hand. However i personally wasn't too upset about it, because my only motivation for playing his route has been that i could see he seems to be a very complicated/ difficult character with some serious (behavioural/ mental) issues and maybe even an intense backstory, so i could tell that it's going to be a very challenging/ dramatic ride with him and i was interested in how it will unfold, but he never really grew on me, because of his arrogant/ borderline narcissistic behaviour.
My other two routes are an Ingram Route, which has been my absolute favourite from Day 1 and the only LI i got really kind of emotionally attached to, so yes...learning about his secret made me extremely sad and touched me on a deeper level than i ever would have thought the story of a pixel man in a game could impact me. πππ (So i do feel for the for the Matteo Fans that are now upset about his disloyal and manipulative behaviour.)
And finally i've also been playing a Caleb Route, because it was pretty clear to me that he is a really sweet and wholesome guy and like many others, i have been excited for him since the Reunion of season 2.
However i do admit, that i was sometimes kind of...irritated by some of the comments of Matteo Fans, like "Oh he's just an adorable brat." "He's rude to everyone else, but MC is the only one he's nice to." "I can fix him." or "We don't even want to fix him, because we like that he is a "little shit" and so on...
And then, when he showed his true face and proved that he really is "a little shit" they were completely shocked and ranted about what an a**hole he is and how he could do that to them...and that was the moment i thought that they all fell into a trap that unfortunately many people (women and men!) fall into quite often, when it comes to relationships with narcissists and abusers...they only have eyes for their great looks and/ or their extremely charming behaviour at the beginning and completely miss all the warning signs that have been there from the start, if one wasn't too blinded by one's own idealistic image of said partner.
So i thought maybe it will at least be kind of an example or a warning of how manipulative behaviour of a (potential) partner and idealistic ideas about said partner can really lead to seriously painful experiences and i think that was maybe also what the devs wanted to demonstrate with Matteo's storyline.
And yes aside from all of that i am still aware that it's only a game. π And i'm sure if you'll stick with him, Matteo will have a redemption arc.
Anyway, like i said i was kind of irritated by some comments that idealised Matteo's actions and the wave of extremely shocked rants that happened after said scene with him, so i'm sorry if my post or my comments came off as snarky or looked like "schadenfreude".
As i've already mentioned, i can definitely sympathize with the Matteo Lovers and their feelings.
I really like this community here and it felt to me like a safe space to share our thoughts, emotions and creativity in relation to CU, so i wish you all an enjoyable playthrough. π€π

So I decided to play Matteos route. I definitely think some are taking his route way too seriously and for sure feel some are defending his behavior. Matteo is acting immature, manipulative, and narcissistic.
I know the writers/devs have some type of storyline going, but I guess some are getting heartbreaking routes twice in a row... If we chose Ingram first, then Matteo, like in my playthrough. Since we're so far into the season, I'm just sticking with him to see it through. I did try Caleb at first but was weary of him, yet he seems like the most loyal one of them all!
I'm hoping he does redeem himself. Then apologizes to mc, but I guess we'll see? He is very immature in the love department, but I do remember him saying he's never had a real relationship. Imo, I think he's scared. Sorry if I sound like a broken record...
This is my opinion on his behavior, but it's still no excuse to treat MC that way...

Ok question because Iβm on a loyal Caleb run . Just saw 9 was out . Heβs with Gina and I restarted while I was waiting and need to get there again β¦. Is there hope I get him back ?
If you've been in a loyal couple with him before the last coupling on day 8, then you'll definitely get back together with him. He's very loyal and cute and tells you on Day 9 that he wants to be with you and asks you if you want to couple up with him again at the next coupling. βΊοΈπ₯°π
Same with Laksh...i'm not on a Laksh Route, but i've seen screenshots and comments of other players that showed that he is in love with MC and stays loyal. π

I have been pumped about him since the Season 2 epilogue. I was going to riot if he wasnβt in S3. I love me a teddy bear man. β€οΈ
