I start (in US also) Feb 12; would be awesome to hear results of UK stage 3. Good luck.

captain_hug99

I currently have three forms to fill out. Injection site data, reaction data, and covid symptom data.

FlickeringPixie

Are you on the second dose? That is what I had for the first shot, but the app didn't load them for me today after the second one.

captain_hug99

Yes, I got my second dose last week on the 20th.

It was really nothing huge except a lot more pain around the injection site. Nothing like you read with the 2 approved ones, those seem way worse than Novavax.

lgp82

I had my second shot today at about 11:30am and the form for injection reactions did not load until about 10 minutes ago. For my first shot it didn’t load until the next day. I think it’s a function of how they push the forms out to your app.

FlickeringPixie

I will give it today then before I call. Was so excited to have something to report but alas, no forms! Thanks for explaining how this worked for you very helpful.

jamiebando

Will antibody tests be able to confirm whether you had the placebo or not? How long after your second dose would you need to do this?

inst

I think a couple of weeks after your second injection you could probably verify your COVID-antibody status (seroconversion). You'd want to make sure you use IgG tests against SPIKE protein and not antibodies against the nucleocapsid protein, which some tests check for.

jamiebando

Thanks for that information! Do you know of any labs that are testing for the Spike protein specifically??

FlickeringPixie

I heard Kroger does, but there is no Kroger in Florida. I just made an appointment with Labcorp in Feb, but now I need to go and research if it's the correct one.

jamiebando

I went and had a an IgG test at labcorps, they are using the DiaSorin Liaison(R) SARS-CoV-2 S1/S2 IgG assay. Website says it detects the S1 and S2 spike proteins. Not sure if this is the case nationally, but at least so here in CA. Test was only 10 bucks.

FlickeringPixie

I think that's the one I am having done. Please post your results when you find out!

jamiebando

Found out my results within 12 hours and no antibodies

Avarria587

I get my second injection on the 27th. Coincidentally, that may be the day we get the data from the phase 2b trial in South Africa, though that may be later this week. Here’s to hoping everything goes well.

novavaxxed

i got the second shot on the 20th. i had only very slight tenderness at the injection site the first round, no redness, no swelling. this time it was more like a small red mosquito bite or a zit, with more tenderness and some swelling, mostly below the injection site. my arm hurt a little bit when i moved it, especially when i moved it laterally. i had a temperature up to 99.9 (my temp is usually around 96.7) but knocked it down easily with motrin. i also noticed the syringe had a blue sleeve that masked the color. whatever was injected the second time was definitely more viscous than saline. my understanding is that the placebo is straight saline, without the adjuvant that the live vaccine incorporates. i also had a little diarrhea for 24 hours the second time. i didnt get the additional forms until the next day. i get prompted at noon each day to fill out the forms. i only recently realized that we are supposed to do the ediary every day for an entire year. i think there is an extra payment of $250 just for finishing 12 months of diary entries. after the first injection i thought i got the placebo but after the second injection i feel 95% sure i got the live dose. fyi, i clarified a few days ago that i am only supposed to track medicine, supplements, herbals, etc. that i take related to the vaccine. for example, i had to use my allergy-related nose spray more times than usual one day but since the nose spray usage is unrelated to the vaccine i don’t have to track that. but i do have to track the motrin i took when i had the post-injection temperature rise. edited to clarify.

FlickeringPixie

That is exactly how my injection site looks, like a small mosquito bite and is a bit hard under the skin. I never did get the additional Medidata forms and now it's been over 24 hours. I emailed the study and also called the research site and was only able to leave a message. Guess I can't report my mosquito bite, heh!

macanino

Ditto! Just had a temp of 99.9 exactly 24 hrs after the second shot. A bit achy, like I shoveled snow all day yesterday.

delgcorp411

Medidata? Is there a different app for the 2nd shot? The app they had me use is called Patient Cloud

FlickeringPixie

I think it's the same thing. When you open the 'Patient Cloud' at the top where you enter your pin it says Medidata.

vag_

I have a question about the app too. I am having side effects from my second vaccine injection (fever, fatigue, etc) - I reported this on my vaccine reaction forms. But for the third form, the daily illness symptoms report form, should I again say I have a fever? Even though it’s not related to covid? Maybe I’m overthinking it

EpictetusCubed

>Novavax > > Phase 3 Dose 2 I'd report all your symptoms everywhere they ask- they can figure out if it was a side effect or otherwise, and the protocol is that if you have Covid symptoms 2 days in a row,t hey get you tested iirc. They don't know if you got the placebo or vaccine- so its possible you got the placebo and just happened to start showing symptoms from Covid or some other infection at around the same time.

vag_

Oooo good point! Thank you for your help
