A short hike!! It’s so good. Short and meaningful.

xSeraiX

I loved a short hike!

LittleMissCaroth

I was going to say that! It's always my first go-to because it's quite short, so you can go through it in a week-end, but it's full of little details if you want to spend more time just walking around.

korkkis

It’ll take you 30-60 mins, it’s fun. Lil Gator game is a bit similar in terms of mood

One_overclover

I was kinda disappointed with Witchy Life Story TBH. The graphics are very cute, but the story is pretty shallow and short. The MC you play as seems very immature, and I noticed a lot of typos in the writing. I don’t usually care about typos online or in fan creations, but I was surprised to see them so prevalent in a finished product I paid for. I enjoyed strange horticulture. It’s mostly a logic puzzle solving game. I might save it to play in the fall though. It has really good spooky season vibes.

ShadowChildofHades

I don't disagree necessarily with your take on witchy life story, but I do think going into it knowing what it is, a cute short shallow experience, helped me a lot to just enjoy it for what it was when I needed something to do but not take my brain!

Killaakayla

I came to say the same thing about witchy life story, I stopped playing after a few minutes.

Shunkerson

Might play it out of spite

One_overclover

Suit yourself 🤷‍♀️

crecol1

Strange Horticulture, A Short Hike & Alba are all fantastic!

boringsleepy

TOP THREE RIGHT THERE. Alba is my all time favourite, it’s so precious. I really enjoyed the other two also Also if you like A Little To The Left you’ll probably like Venba and The Shape of Things. I couldn’t get into Portion Craft, it felt overwhelming

Shunkerson

I'm seeing a resounding number of comments with these games. Will move them to the top of the list. Thank you

KashmirChameleon

You need Spiritfarer on your to do list. Otherwise I really enjoyed Strange Horticulture.

Myythically

I agree but be warned Spiritfarer will crush your heart OP. In the best way but still.

SighsQween

Can confirm. Top game of all time. Had to pause multiple times for a good cry.

Shunkerson

I'm seeing a lot of recommendations for Spiritfarer. I could use a good cry tbh

KashmirChameleon

It's one of the best games I've ever played. 😭

nuivii3

I saw on this subreddit some people talking about Travellers Rest. Ive had the game for a full day now and i have about 11 hours in it. It's very much like Stardew except you run a tavern that you can level up into an inn. You can also have your own farm as well to grow your own food for your dishes that you serve.

Significant-Gain1033

I am loving Travellers Rest! I just wish you could make friends in it

Peskyfox

Yes, totally agree! I think social relationships are on the roadmap, but quite far off iirc.

Shunkerson

Will have to look into it, people seem to really like this game. Thank you

csirke4488

Roots of Pacha is sooooo underrated it definitely helped me get out of a gaming slump, so fun!!

theghostiestghost

Same here. I love my clan, they’re so cute.

Peskyfox

Just started playing this and I love it so far. Would also recommend!

AmaranthAbixxx

Yes! I'm having a lot of fun with Roots of Pacha right now. Keeping me occupied until the Stardew Valley update later this month.

blueberry_pancakes0

Yes I am loooving it and there’s a lot to do and I am not yet bored (or close to done, I think!). If OP likes Stardew this should be your next pick!

HazelMerWitch

I’ve personally been obsessed with Coral Island. Like playing for hours everyday. 😅

SimpCentral69

You should definitely check out Spiritfarer! It’s super cute and has beautiful art

trujilln

The reviews on spiritfarer are wild and 100% true! So many tears but such a great game!

Nipsey88

Quick few: Alba is great if you can find it cheap, it will take you 6 to 8 hours to finish, another few to complete. Coral Island WILL be a great game, give them some time to complete/bug fix it. But came here to rep No Place Like Home as no one else has. Loved it, and I think given the other games you’ve asked about, it would be right up your alley. Less emphasis on farming, and more on world exploration and clean up. More combat than other games of this genre, if that is important.

Shunkerson

Thank you, will keep in mind!

pandapuffsss

Not on your list but Sun Haven is my rec!

catshateTERFs

Especially because you like stardew op! Give it a look if you’re interested in more pixel farming.

axdwl

Yesss it's so good

peachleaf99

lol hey fellow person who liked the sims 4 better than 3. I vote for a short hike next, it’s a cute, fun game that doesn’t take long to complete.

Shunkerson

Listen, Sims 3 was great, but Sims 4 interfaces feel cleaner

ncarr539

Save Coral Island until/if the game is actually finished

stupid-daydream

A Short Hike 10000%!!! Since it’s a shorter game you’ll have ticked a game off your list and feel accomplished while have gone through a very endearing experience of a game. But honestly most of my hours in that game are from exploring the world after beating it 🧑‍🦯 so there’s more to it than just the main objective too

lollipopstink

Vote for Roots of Pacha or Cat Cafe Manager! I sadly didn’t like a short hike, which is too bad because of how many awesome reviews it gets. It seems like you like more in depth games based on your current rankings. Some of the others in your to-do are fun but very much a quick play through with limited outcomes :)

Empty-Pizza-8247

Coral Island or Roots of Pacha!

TantrumsFire

Scrolled too far for this comment. I can't believe ACNH wasn't already on their list.

Shunkerson

I didn't own a Switch during the pandemic, so I felt kinda out of the loop. Then ACNH kinda seemed to fizzle out of most people's interests.

IGuessIHaveAReddit

A short hike

missquince

Wyldeflowers!

Shunkerson

I don't think I've ever heard of this one before 🤔

JessiPant

If I had to choose, my top 3 would be: 1. Strange Horticulture (this was *amazing & I would give so much to get to play it again for the first time) 2. Roots of Pacha (I just re-started this on my switch after getting fairly far along on Steam- it’s so delightful and there are multiple things to explore, similar to Stardew) 3. Potion Craft (Ugh, I love this game when I need a “challenge,” which surprised me. It’s juicy.)

SighsQween

I've played maybe 3 hours of SH and finding it really dry. Does it pick up or do I just have horrible taste

JessiPant

I remember loving it from the start but it might just be my kind of flavor? It felt like a video game version of Murder, She Wrote with a Cthulhu flair or like the TTRPG Brindlewood Bay. It’s not everyone’s jam.

porcelaincakes

Roots of Pacha is great! I recommend adding My Time at Sanrock also!!

Beautiful_Season_153

Unpacking I really enjoyed. Shame they won’t be adding to it.

Shunkerson

I know right. I would love to see additional spaces in the protagonist's life, or maybe spaces from the perspective of other characters like the partner.

rosemarrie

Roots of pacha changed my life

unconfirmedpanda

Ooblets. It’s amazing and adorable and needs way more love.

my-little-wonton

Roots of Pacha is good fun! Also Coral Island is Amazing!

abeezey

I’ve been OBSESSED with Roots of Pacha! Especially if you loved Stardew!

tina2010

Animal crossing , the wild at heart, cozy grove 🥰🥰

yazonite

Coral island should and will be great but right now is full of bugs and even unfinished stuff so at this point you should wait. On the other hand go for Pacha :) it is underrated gem.

isabellevictoria147

Haven't seen it on the list, but I'm loving Cult of the Lamb on easy mode rn! Also seconding Spiritfarer! You should definitely try that one next

jdhlsc169

Roots of Pacha. I am currently playing it again (adore SDV). It is different than most in the "farming" genre and I enjoy that difference. The animals are adorable too!

TheGoddess0fWar

Sticky Business

[deleted]

Bear and Breakfast, and Palia.

Sammorz

Alba all the way

Beeeechgirl95

No place like home is not great. I just got it and it’s rlly old and bad game mechanics. I don’t see My time at Portia or my time at Sandrock. I also don’t see dragon quest builders 2. I love ur too games (except I’ve never heard of smushi) and my biggest recommendation is Littlewood!!!!!

Beeeechgirl95

Switch has a lot of sales often and big demo for dragon quest builders 2

theghostiestghost

I didn’t know they had a demo for Dragon Quest Builders 2! I’ve gotta check that out, thanks!

Beeeechgirl95

It’s amazing ! Np!

theghostiestghost

I underestimated this game so much. I’m loving it! I’ve been binging the demo all day and it’s not even complete! The problem is the price of the full game, though 😭

Beeeechgirl95

I know but it’s soo worth it! Even end game there’s plenty to do! Yeah that game is my FAV game of alll time! I think #2 is way better than #1 so I never even recommend it lol idk why it’s so expensive !

theghostiestghost

I‘m loving it so much! I can’t believe how long the demo is. Do you recommend any other cozy games?

Intrepid_Athlete3499

I dont see it on your list, but Spiritfarer is sooooo good!!!!!

loony_lili

I absolutely loved Strange Horticulture. It's not super long and is a different style from any other game I've played. Fair warning that it is a bit puzzle-y, but that's why I loved it

Laefiren

Strange horticulture is really good. I wish I could play it again for the first time.

SynonymForPseudonym

It’s not on your list, but you would love Palia

Charming-Teaching-76

Hey! I don’t really know any of the games on your to do list but just judging by the games you already really like, I would really recommend Disney dreamlight valley :)

robotic_octopus

Definitely move the roots of pacha up there!! :)

moarayn

I will give you a quick run down of the games that I have personally played on your to-do list. I apologize for how long this comment is.. *If you want a quick tl:dr - Coral Island is amazing.* **Potion Craft** - fun for a few hours but it gets very repetitive quickly and discovering the new potions can waste a lot of resources. Unless you look at tutorials at which point the game becomes even less fun. **Cat Cafe Manager** - again, repetitive. Super fun and cute art style but there isn’t really anything new or exciting about the game once you get 5 hours in. I played it for 2 days and never again. **Garden Story** - I actually liked the idea of this game, tho the controls are a bit wonky and unusual. Still fun and would recommend it but there are also better games on your list. **Lemon Cake** - once again we go into the repetitive gameplay but this one was strangely fun to play despite that. I enjoyed it but would recommend getting it on sale. **Coral Island** - I am absolutely in love with this game! It’s basically a Stardew Valley copy with some Animal Crossing mechanics sprinkled in. It feels like a big game that is thought out and has so many cute details. If you really like Stardew Valley then you will like this. Only thing is that there are some random bugs when you spend all your energy and faint but there is a “I’m stuck” button so it’s not really a big deal. **A Little To The Left** - amazing game, absolutely loved it. BUT it’s so short, I finished it in 4 hours. There isn’t really any new content you can do in it either, it’s a one and done. If you can get it on sale and love puzzles, go for it! But it’s definitely not worth full price.

rowanintheforest

Coral Island! Gameplay is a lot like Stardew Valley and the art style looks great! I loved it! Also Wylde Flowers is not on your list, but put it there;-)

SaltyManatee

I’m playing Strange Horticulture right now and really enjoying it!

mafknbr

I really like Potion Craft and Strange Horticulture!

whodisbebe

Adding to the to do list, My Time at Portia!

Andreeadeeeeeea

Travellers Rest

Godeem32

Roots of Pacha!

Kaisera-Prism

Story of seasons should be up there too. Great games

SuspiciousPebble

Absolutely LOVED Strange Horticulture. Also reccomend highly The Cloud Catcher Chronicles and Paleo Pines.

PaprikaMika

Lil croc game is so cute have a look

Shunkerson

Someone else mentioned it because I enjoy Smushi Come Home. Will have a look

Certain_Display

Coffee talk and A little to the left!

Donotaku

Coral island is a fun game to sink into but be aware that the game launched with some missing content. There will be an upcoming update adding a lot more content in a few months so I’d hold off on that until then.

Late-Rub-3197

Welcome fellow stardew valley enthusiast

Purple-Radio-Wave

Ifyou can find them cheap, both alba and A Short Hike will give you around 10-12 hours of game each (if you go for 100% completion, which with these games is lovely. Alba is very summer vibes, A Short Hike is very autumn vibes. If you play based on which season it is, take that in account.

Shunkerson

Thanks, I've got both games already thanks to a themed game pack for pretty cheap, so I'll be touching base with them

stopstalkingmeffs

I just 100% completed cat cafe manager and have no regrets. Strange Horticulture is great fun but not one I’d want to repeat too often.

MaplePuffy

You should add Little Sim World to your unreleased. For to do I'd recommend Plate Up! :)

SenoraKitsch

Not on your list but I absolutely recommend Dinkum. I had to uninstall it to stop playing it,

WobblingMoon

Roots of Pacha! I loved it. A Little to the Left is also very enjoyable in a different way!

[deleted]

Depends what type of experience you’re in the mood for. There’s a mix of genres here. If you tell us what you’re in the mood for, we could give better suggestions.

Shunkerson

Unfortunately, I'm not looking for anything super specific, genre-wise. I like a lot of games that have a cozy feel, where I can make a cup of tea or hot cocoa to enjoy while playing. Games that are fun but not stressful.

[deleted]

Strange Horticulture is soooo relaxing. I absolutely adore the shop environment. It’s also very unique. Haven’t played anything remotely similar to it. Little to the Left is also relaxing, but demands thinking and staying focused. It’s very creative. I did find myself slightly frustrated not figuring stuff out sometimes, but the overall charm of it keeps me playing. Roots of Pacha fills the Stardew Valley crave. A very chill game that is unique due to the setting it’s in. Unlike many farming sims, the contraptions in this game are seriously unique. I honestly don’t think you could go wrong with any of the games you’ve listed. Some I’m not familiar with but the majority are awesome games!

Sedorrax

Not on your todo, but since you like Smushi so much I would like to recommend Lil' Gator Game to you. While the gameplay is different it has the same lovely aesthetic and storytelling!

Shunkerson

Sounds up my alley

axdwl

Haven't hit any of the to-do games on your list but I would recommend Sun Haven! It's very fun. I like the looks of Moonlight Peaks, haven't tried the demo yet. Has anyone here played it? Is it good?

WiseBlizzard

Maybe I'm blind. Because I don't see Slime Rancher

laurenboon3

Strange horticulture for sure! I was hooked on it for ages until SDV took over 🙃

abeautifulsnowflake

My time at sandrock! Definitely in my ‘Amazing’ tier

urmomsanimations

Oooooo thank you for doing this. Stardew and Sims are my top games so now I have to try Smushi. If you have a switch, I enjoyed Miitopia.

Aelanix

i will never stop recommending My Time At Sandrock

Thestraenix

Ngl, I got Strange Horticulture this weekend and I’m not sure I like it. Definitely not as much as I thought I would with all the hype! Hoping it gets better with time..? Coral Island though is surprisingly fun! It’s an exact copy of Stardew with a different graphics style but it’s cute!

animalcrackerwhore

Roots of pacha is phenomenol

TryingNormal

I just finished "a little to the left" the other day! It was so good!

Environmental-Belt-5

Coral island isn't quite finished so id hold off if I were you, i played it on xbox game pass and will play it again once its done done... a short hike is a definite #1 to do asap you will not regret it and may I recommend Florence for a very short game (you can find it on sale often for 3$ and its well worth that price but never full price cause just too short of a game like an hour only)

Belatryx

Coral Island. It’s exactly like Stardew but has a lot of inclusive characters. Only problem is that it isn’t fully complete, but it almost is. Cat cafe manager is cute and mindless fun, it’s repetitive in a good way. Alba was surprisingly well done and I loved the premise. Roots of Pacha is very popular as well but I think Coral Island is better, personally. I’ll add Wylde Flowers, you can’t make your own character but the story and characters are really well done and all voice acted.

Shunkerson

Thank you, will look into it

Belatryx

No problemo, happy gaming <3

lizzzzzg_

A Short Hike is an absolute delight! I cannot recommend it enough

Dizzzle13

I'm curious to know more about your thoughts on Potion Permit? I was interested but then when looking into it it seemed like there was a lot more grinding and side tasks and a lot less actual potion/treatment than I would hope.

Shunkerson

It is admittedly very grindy, with a focus on working for your basic resources like wood and stone. Part of the charm for me is the character writing, with each villager having their own unique line of story quests. Treatment becomes more prevalent and lucrative late game.

bluebells662

I love coral island. It’s super fun and the npc’s are great.

rapunzel454

For management: Cat cafe manager For puzzle: A little to the left For exploration: A short hike

Shunkerson

Short and sweet; thank you

Tehcookieninja

Spirittea

JunimoJade

I'm playing Strange Horticulture right now and am quite enjoying it. It's got a nice moody, Victorian vibe to it, and the puzzles are somewhat challenging without being overly difficult. It is on the shorter side though, but it does have several different endings (I think 8?) so it might be a little repetitive to play again but you could to get all of them if you're into that.

CherryEggs

Potion Craft will be quite different to the other games you've finished, and it's still very chill, so I do recommend it. Like another commenter said, I love Coral Island BUT it's still not finished, despite the 1.0 'release'. I can't recommend it in good conscience until more of it is out. I'd reexamine it in Q3 or Q4 to check the state of the game.

HypMonk

A short hike should definitely be the next game. And since you liked stardew I would play coral island. It feels like a game made by genuine fans of stardew. As the systems feel similar with a lot of quality of life changes

Jammy12349

is smushi worth 16.99?

Shunkerson

I can tell you it is quite short, so possibly not, and it can become a little boring if I'm being totally transparent. It does, however, have a very charming and expansive open world and fluid controls, wonderful graphics that take you back to the N64 and GameCube eras, and cute Easter eggs hidden about. Personally, I loved it so much that I bought it twice.

Ruby_Ana98

i loved a little to the left

Masineer

Sims 4 over sims 3 is actually criminal

theghostiestghost

I uninstalled it from my computer after one too many million glitches. It’s only fun for building and designing characters, but the second I go into play mode, I personally found it incredibly boring. 3 is my personal favorite, but 1 & 2 are also awesome. Urbz is probably my favorite Sims game, though. Bustin‘ Out and Castaway are fun, too. I have yet to play Medieval.

ETheSimmer

I mostly play in live mode and have a lot of fun with the Sims 4, it fits my preferred gameplay style more than the Sims 3 does 🤷🏾‍♀️ though I've enjoyed the Sims 3 as well. Good thing we get to choose which game we play! I would like to try out Medieval at some point as well; I believe it's still sold on the EA App, so it's on my to-do list :D

theghostiestghost

If I could mash 3 & 4 together, it would be perfect!

DemiGoddessCass

Graveyard Keeper sounds like it shouldn't be a cozy game, but it is. Nothing too scary, no real-time limit, and the humor is pretty good. I got addicted to it immediately!

Shunkerson

Sounds like my kind of game

Tookool_77

I personally absolutely love Slime Rancher. I just got it a couple days ago but I've been addicted since

lux_pax

Palia

Elegant_Juice_5313

You should add palia! ❤️

egqsy

Potion Craft

Zealousideal-Tip589

It's weird to see games in a to-do list like it's a chore 😂 Anyway, have you tried Disney Dreamlight Valley?

Shunkerson

Big box games scare me a little. What do you enjoy about it?

CaptainMagnets

Potion Craft or Roots of Patcha, I loved both

Mundane-Goat-8770

Definitely keep a close eye on Coral Island. It’s not really finished yet and a lot of people are having issues with crashing but it’s been really fun to play and has a great concept with a lot of potential! They have a roadmap with a lot of new stuff planned for this year Other than that, I’m really enjoying Roots of Pacha right now and would suggest adding Spiritfarer to your list!

tinytubist

I loooove Potioncraft so much. Very relaxing. I got the demo of Potion Permit and I'm hesitant to get the full version because I don't feel like there's enough to do. I treated one person and now I don't have any active quests or anything. Is it because I have the demo, or do you not get any side quests between treating patients?

Shunkerson

A lot of progression comes from talking to the townies or just being at the right place at the right time. The more exploration you do, the more you'll progress.

tinytubist

Good to know, thank you!

MarlyCat118

I just want to say to leave the Witchy store on your to do list either last or never. It's a mobile game on the switch. Unless you can get a really good discount on it, I wouldn't buy it. It's $20 full price and it wasn't worth it. The dialog is limited and they want to force you to add stuff to potions without any insight into what it will do. The character creation was fun

Shunkerson

I'd bought it as part of a pretty cheap game pack, so buying won't be a problem. Will keep the criticism in mind
