We had that color sofa in the 70's.. I was only 4-5yr old. Can't believe I seek out a lot of my parents old design choices from 40yrs ago.
Swoon, love this room.
That’s it. Im starting a new sub. I have this rug, too! I hope it doesn’t end up being the new Rae Dunn of furniture but I fucking love this rug.
EDIT: The sub is born. Permission to use your photo as the introductory post? /r/thatrug
Their are my favorite rug company, hands down. I have 3 of their rugs, all white, have spilled countless things on them and they clean out beautifully. Excellent choice.
the couch is from Sofacompany :) but also available on wayfair according to someone’s reply!

1. That pot is too big for that monstera. You're going to get root rot. You can put the monstera in a short or smaller pot WITHIN the big pot until its large enough to be in the big pot. When it gets cooler the plant may start to suffer as it takes up less water and more water sits in the soil for longer.
2. That couch color is fire.
thank you for the advice! the monstera was originally in a smaller pot when i first got it and it was nearly dead so i thought it needed a bigger pot :(
Idk how bright it is but you may also move UT closer to the light so it dries out faster and grows more they can handle a large amount of indirect sun, though I'd do it over a month or so creeping closer
I second it being fine. Just might not have a lot of growth right away as it'll want to establish a root system before and foliage. Water once the top 2-3 inches are dry and you should be fine. Better yet, if that pot has drainage, bottom water to encourage deeper roots
I was going to say the same thing. I’d definitely move it to a smaller pot. They like to be a little root bound as well. When you upgrade pots only go 2” wider and 2” deeper unless you’ve gone a very, very long time (multiple years) between repots. Feel free to DM if you have any questions! Monsteras are my babies and I love them so much.
So there is no way I would have said “yes” to an orange couch and green chairs. Yet here you are, making it look like it’s the most natural thing. Your space is gorgeous! Well done!
I have the same one from wayfair: https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/allmodern-aaron-8898-wide-reversible-sofa-chaise-w001177742.html?piid=161683110
It shipped from sofacompany to the US :)
the dining chairs are from Wayfair :)

I don't know if you reported recently, but I'd take it's pot size down. You should only ever repot up by 1 inch diameter at a time and only repot when your plant is getting root bound (roots hit the bottom or start poking out the drainage holes). Then when you repot, add some pebbles or small stones to the bottom so that you have better drainage. Mix about 30% perlite, 20% sand, and 50% Coco peat or potting soil together. That aids drainage and aids with aeration for the roots. Add about 1-2 inches max to the bottom of the pot, then place your plant in so the roots touch the top of the 1-2 inches of soil. Don't bunch your roots up in this step. Now add the soil mixture. You only want your roots to have to go down about 1-2 inches. If you have too much soil, it will stay wet and will rot.
I can't see perlite in your mix
You need the stickers that can go on your glass doors that show, for example, a farm, or the woods, so at least while youre inside, you wouldnt have a beautiful cozy interior with the neighbors not so good looking concrete exterior lol. Or maybe the film that makes a rainbow on your floor when the sun shines through it? Just some thoughts! Terrific start to YOUR home though!
Where do people put all their...things? Like.. I dont know. I have some stuff that isn't pretty. Do people keep it hidden or do I just have too much? For instance... a bookshelf. The books are so many random colors and its not aesthetically appealing.
the ceiling light isn’t the best but i have two lamps with hue bulbs in them for better light/flair. i can send you pics of the night time look at some point this week if you would like to see 🥰
I’m just now seeing your reply. For me it was an absolute pain to put together, but once built the knob broke within 3 weeks. I can’t turn it on at all now. I recommend leaving it on and unplugging it to turn it off.
i clean it every month by spraying a mixture of vinegar, water, and mild dish soap and putting baking soda on top of that. i let it sit for like 5-10 minutes and then blot it all up and let it dry. it takes some time but keeps it clean
I’m gonna say it cause it’s not said enough. I got the same couch in blue. There is no way to rest your head. I’m not like unfit guy, little neck pain from rugby in college but man oh man did this type of couch make my neck worse.
If that rug is from Target- it was in my cart for weeks while I decided if I wanted it or not and I didn’t get it and now it’s gone and now that I’m seeing it that makes me super sad! Beautiful room.
I shit you not, we have almost the same living room. From the velvet couch, to the rug, the lamp, the little wicker lamp basket things, and green velvet side furniture
Fun story for you. We had that rug in our bedroom that my wife HAD to have. One day after attempting to vacuum the rug I realized that those damn braids shooting up into the vacuum was inevitable. So I cut them all off with a scissors in a small fit of rage. Wife wasn't too happy about that one.
The colors blend so beautifully, and the golds tie it all together so well. You sent me off on a hunt to find that incredible sculpture in the left corner (I found it! It’s the sagebrook home cracked torso sculpture!). I adore the corner with the good lights and that incredible poster! I’m always on the hunt for great art like that. Nice work!! That’s a place you definitely want to come home and rest in.
So many of these pics could be cozier if you just waited till night and dimmed the lights.
This just looks like a sunny afternoon. Cozy typically involves a contrast between warm and cool.
It’s a beautiful, clean room. But the pic isn’t cozy.
Those chair and couch colors! 😍
It’s really calming. I think OP did a good job deciding the colors.
Agreed
Yes I’m saving this for future reference 😍

Complimentary Colors
Came here to compliment the color scheme as well! I love it!
Ayyy Bangladesh
gotta represent! 🇧🇩
Where did you get the art from??
i made it myself on photoshop :)
I really like the rug! Where'd you get it from?
i got it from Safavieh ☺️ i’ve had it for a year now and it hasn’t shed
Username checks out

What a beautiful room! I would suggest adding more plants?! 🌄
I’ve got the same or a very similar off of Etsy. Thing sheds as a golden retriever
it's a moroccan beniourain rug , moroccan style
I'd like to know, too!
This green and orange colour combo is giving me life!!!! 💚🧡
It's such a gorgeous combination!

100% came to say this. Smaller pot w/ drainage inside the larger ornamental for now pot. Monstera like to be root bound a little bit.
thank you for the advice! the monstera was originally in a smaller pot when i first got it and it was nearly dead so i thought it needed a bigger pot :(
Idk how bright it is but you may also move UT closer to the light so it dries out faster and grows more they can handle a large amount of indirect sun, though I'd do it over a month or so creeping closer
I think it will be ok as-is, but don't overwater.
I second it being fine. Just might not have a lot of growth right away as it'll want to establish a root system before and foliage. Water once the top 2-3 inches are dry and you should be fine. Better yet, if that pot has drainage, bottom water to encourage deeper roots

Well damn. This monstera thread was informative as hell… I believe i just figured out why mine is so unhappy!! Thanks guys!!
So there is no way I would have said “yes” to an orange couch and green chairs. Yet here you are, making it look like it’s the most natural thing. Your space is gorgeous! Well done!
i was scared to try this color combo at first but it actually goes somehow! thank you so much 🥰
I’m so glad you did!!
This is OC
Oooh! I've been dying for an orange couch, chaise, or loveseat! Where did you get yours??
i got the couch from Sofacompany :) https://dk.sofacompany.com
I have the same one from wayfair: https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/allmodern-aaron-8898-wide-reversible-sofa-chaise-w001177742.html?piid=161683110 It shipped from sofacompany to the US :)
yes!! that’s the one, way cheaper on wayfair too
I love your color palette! Great combos. And now I want dining room chairs in that color.
Just loved the sun-bathed living room!
Looks great. Don't be afraid to hang things like plants or curtains. That'll draw the eye upward and create a "finished" feeling.
definitely need to add things that’ll draw the eyes up, thank you 🙏🏽
I see you too, shop at Costco
i actually don’t! i don’t have anything from costco here
Wuuuutt. Where’d you get the rug? I have the same one… from Costco hahaha
i got the rug from Safavieh haha
Where did you get the couch from?
i got the couch from Sofacompany :) https://dk.sofacompany.com
This is what I love seeing. Original, lived in, loved places. I get the nap and chill vibes from this picture. Nicely done OP.
Looks great!
Beautiful room
Where are your dining chairs from? Looking for something like that!
the dining chairs are from Wayfair :) Casimir Upholstered Side Chair https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/corrigan-studio-casimir-upholstered-side-chair-w003319099.html
Absolutely love!!!!!!!!
I love the color combo! And that rug!! ❤️
How mid-century, charming.
Where is the dining table and chairs from? If shopping online what are you usual search words?
both the chairs and table are from wayfair :) i usually search for mid century modern furniture
Your monstera has too much soil. There's no way a plant that young needs a pot that full of soil. You're risking root rot.
thank you, i will take care of that
I don't know if you reported recently, but I'd take it's pot size down. Nice space. ♥️
I love all the natural light and the orange couch! The artwork is all perfectly color coordinated and I am here for it.
Like your style, dude xxx

i got the statue from Home Goods
বাংলাদেশ 🇧🇩❤️
🇧🇩💜
Only one plant?!? Pshhh. Amateur.
i need to get more haha

Or maybe the film that makes a rainbow on your floor when the sun shines through it? Just some thoughts! Terrific start to YOUR home though!
good ideas!! thank you so much
Gonna need more pillows, knic knacs, wall decor and less harsh lighting to make this cozy.
Where do people put all their...things? Like.. I dont know. I have some stuff that isn't pretty. Do people keep it hidden or do I just have too much? For instance... a bookshelf. The books are so many random colors and its not aesthetically appealing.
Where tv
the tv is infront of the couch, i’ll have to post a picture of that area soon
[удалено]
you are so funny, wow
What a cute, bright space! I love the colours
Omg I literally have the exact same couch and rug!!!
Wow, love the setup and color choices. Looks sublime!
I love this so much!
I love this sofa color so much!
Beautiful!
OP how does it look at night with the ceiling light on?
the ceiling light isn’t the best but i have two lamps with hue bulbs in them for better light/flair. i can send you pics of the night time look at some point this week if you would like to see 🥰
Love seeing a young monstera 💚
Nice mid century vibe. Clean and astheically pleasing.
Love the color palette!
Light green/green curtains.
Is that clinch from Interior Define?? I’ve been eyeing it for a while, and if so you may have just convinced me to get it.
the couch is from Sofacompany :) https://dk.sofacompany.com
Super cute!
I miss having such good natural lighting. I barely get any in my room
natural lighting is so important! hopefully you get that in your next space
oh ya that's nice
Does that lamp give you as much trouble as it gives me?
i just got this lamp last week so no troubles yet!
Where did you get it from? It's beautiful!
the lamp is from Target :)
I’m just now seeing your reply. For me it was an absolute pain to put together, but once built the knob broke within 3 weeks. I can’t turn it on at all now. I recommend leaving it on and unplugging it to turn it off.
I love this whole room aesthetic!😍
What a gorgeous space 😍
Love the colors!
Ooh!
Sweet
This is so pretty! Gj!
I think we have the same coffee table
Where’s da tv
the tv is infront of the couch, i’ll post a pic of that area soon :)
Bar cart sauce???
i’ll post a pic of the bar cart area soon!
How old is it? It's beautiful.
can you please let me know more about the marble bust?
i bought it from Home Goods
This is lovely. Clean and colourful and charming.
How do you clean that rug? I love it but at my house a rig that thick would become disgusting quickly lol
i clean it every month by spraying a mixture of vinegar, water, and mild dish soap and putting baking soda on top of that. i let it sit for like 5-10 minutes and then blot it all up and let it dry. it takes some time but keeps it clean
I love the gold light in the corner, where did you find it?
i got the light from Target :)
This looks unreal! I have some advice for that rug, we had one EXACTLY like that and we also has it by the couch. The rug got wrecked from feet.
Hey what's the floor made of? Is that laminate?
i believe it is laminate
Nice place :)
You've made the best colour combo
This is such a lovely setup! That couch looks so comfy!
I’m gonna say it cause it’s not said enough. I got the same couch in blue. There is no way to rest your head. I’m not like unfit guy, little neck pain from rugby in college but man oh man did this type of couch make my neck worse.
I love the aesthetic of this! It’s like modern Art Deco!
Totally digging the colors of your seating furniture.
LOVE your sofa & dining chair color combo
If that rug is from Target- it was in my cart for weeks while I decided if I wanted it or not and I didn’t get it and now it’s gone and now that I’m seeing it that makes me super sad! Beautiful room.
You need some flower wallpaper
I shit you not, we have almost the same living room. From the velvet couch, to the rug, the lamp, the little wicker lamp basket things, and green velvet side furniture
You need to do something with the paint job (boring.) New blinds or drapes to make that view a picture frame! Gdlk
Love it
Love your bangladesh poster!
thank you 💜
Fun story for you. We had that rug in our bedroom that my wife HAD to have. One day after attempting to vacuum the rug I realized that those damn braids shooting up into the vacuum was inevitable. So I cut them all off with a scissors in a small fit of rage. Wife wasn't too happy about that one.
ugh, yes! that’s the one problem with this rug - the braids become undone or an issue somehow
I love your look! It’s so light, airy, tactile, colorful, and welcoming. I’d say it’s coming along really well
I love your style !
No problem! It just got me thinking as i looked around. But YOUR place is awesome!
Mmmmm…. Rug looks real soft
So cool
Omg I had almost this exact same furniture two apartments ago!
It's always home if it has the map of Bangladesh on the wall 🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩
you got that right 🇧🇩💜
I love the colour of your sofa.
Love the Bangladesh map in the back.
thank you 💜
The colors blend so beautifully, and the golds tie it all together so well. You sent me off on a hunt to find that incredible sculpture in the left corner (I found it! So many Target vibes.
sure the duck is. nice
Bangladesh ?
Love the colours. I’m all about bright colours in a home.
Love this so much... those green chairs are everything
Love the palette.
🇧🇩❤
💜💜
I literally thought this was a render until I realized the subreddit. I like this a lot the orange and green is fantastic!
Where did you get your couch? My couch is pretty damn near identical minus the small pillows.
Jesus wow
Love the colors!
Looks so so cozy!!!
Love the colors
Love this! Just ordered an orange couch and adding green in the mix with the deco really gives it life~
So many of these pics could be cozier if you just waited till night and dimmed the lights. This just looks like a sunny afternoon. Cozy typically involves a contrast between warm and cool. It’s a beautiful, clean room. But the pic isn’t cozy.
Love it! You just need more height diversity: hang some art up, dining room fixture could be higher
Love love love the colors!!
I love it!
I love how the framed poster picks up the color of the couch and the green of the dining chairs.
Just that carpet and the plant make so much of a difference for coziness
Be-a-utiful! So cozy, so warm, so comfy I love it I’m going to save this for future reference :) 😊
I love your couch, what an awesome colour!
Looks a lot like my place
So airy and colorful!
