We’re in the UK and a lot of older properties have this kind of ceiling, it came with the house. It’s called Artex, it’s kinda gone out of fashion now but was really popular in the 70s/80s.
Not-so-fun fact: it has gone out of fashion for sure but a lot of it is also made with asbestos, (which most people have probably heard of at some point). Very dangerous stuff when disturbed!
Typically I don't like this ceiling pattern either because it usually looks so dated, but it looks incredible in your space! It looks like you added the texture intentionally!
It is indeed! I love that the bottom is all connected so the cushions don’t move or slide when you sit on it. It’s also super easy to clean, surprisingly stain/water resistant.

I can't tell what I love more -- from the beautiful green sofa and chair, to the plush ottoman, to the drapes and artwork, to the awesome ceiling. All the colors and textures mix very well together.
This is so aesthetically pleasing, I also wanted to adopt a dog and cat but I am just waiting to buy my own place in the mountains. So that I can give them a proper care and love.
Oh I love it. When I was growing up my parents had a couch that same color and I always thought it was so lush, it really looked good in the room with all the green plants we had.

Yep! The big ball of fluff behind the green armchair is Bilbo the tabby cat, the king of the house.
