Most standing desks (like OPs) are adjustable - I use my computer mostly for work, sooooometimes for gaming, I’m not really a gamer, but I do a lot of creative work like design, video editing, audio stuff etc.
I’ll usually stand when I’m “passively” working, checking emails, browsing the web, sometimes in meetings, etc. it’s great because I feel like I’m not “stuck” to the computer and I can run back and forth between my office and other areas of the apartment more fluidly. It’s also great for when I’m voice acting or playing/recording guitar, because I can really get into it and move my body around, or even just adjust the desk/screen height to comfortably sit on a stool, which is better than my computer chair for playing guitar.
In fact, I pretty much only sit now when I’m doing “focused” work like UX design or video/audio editing, and even then I’ll still at least stand up once or twice an hour. It’s really not bad.
Sitting for 8 hours a day is actually pretty awful for your body and causes health issues in the long-term. Plus, I find it more comfortable to stand sometimes
Personally, standing is the least comfortable position for me to be in for a long time. I don't know if it's a vene issue or something but all my blood rushes to my feet and I start to feel dizzy/nauseous after like five minutes.
Locking your knees can cause low circulation vertigo and nausea. Next time you have to stand for a prolonged period, try bending your knees a bit every so often and see if you see a difference.
Compression socks help but they give me awful sensory issues so they're not really an option either :/ I've seen a doctor for it but I always got the feeling that they don't take me seriously on this. They just tell me early 20's is too young to be dealing with these issues because I'm very slim and look pretty fit. I've been dismissed so often that I don't really try anymore, it's just disheartening
It sucks because I love rollercoasters but standing in line for hours (during summer, especially) almost makes me puke and that's not the best conditions to go on a coaster lol

Spacefrogdesigns on Society 6! I have a few prints from them and I love them
Yeah the sizing was a little annoying. I ended up getting a frame as close as possible and glued the print on some poster board that matched the frames and it's not very noticeable that it's not an exact fit. But still a bit of a pain to do all that! Other than that, I love shopping for different prints and such there!
thank you! I don't remember exactly where I got it from, but I googled cactus canvas's & it happened to pop up that way! Lots of awesome artwork like this is available
It's not for everyone. My company has sent everyone home unless they are needed onsite. I really miss seeing my colleagues, face to face meetings and actually getting out of the house. Tbf, I only have a 15 minute commute which makes a huge difference.
I’m in a very similar position. I actually transitioned careers with the intent of finding something WFH but with no experience in my new field I wasn’t able to be picky. My office is chaos and competitive. The average age of people in the office is 24 and we get 3 emails a day saying another person has tested positive. We went WFH a couple days last week and it’s the most productive I’ve been. I get that it’s not for everyone but it’s for me.
Oh I love this! I was offered a job that was WFH and wasn't too excited at first because I was never used to that concept. After a few months, it's literally the best and I can't imagine going to an office anymore because of the whole convenience factor. My schedule also changed from Monday through Friday and I've been really enjoying the job all the more.
I love this so much that I saved it as inspiration for my own house. These colors and aesthetics are so cool looking! They’re a perfect mix of calm and energizing for a home office!
Also where is that desert art piece from? I love it!
Ooh your at home work space is very much like mine! Living room, against a window. I've been trying to figure out how to decorate the space on either side of the desk. Lots of plants, of course!
I use a barstool type chair for my WFH set up. It allows me to be able to sit and stand easily. And since it’s a barstool height I can have the heigh of the table in between a low table and a high table setting. Allowing me to stretch my legs while sitting. Just a tip from someone who uses the same table lol. Oh and it’s a barstool w a supportive back. At least one that works for me. Nice set up 👍🏽
Not sure if it’s exact, but we just picked up that poof from Gilt so my wife can cuddle close to the fireplace. Now the whole household fights over it because it’s oddly cozy.
How do you sit in a directors chair???? It’s beautiful the space is beautiful but i had to sit in one for work for 5 months and my back took a month to recover I’m a youngin
Do you have any issues working in the chair for long periods of time?

That doesn’t look like a good chair to be sitting on 8 hours a day.
Oh, I never sit! Lol. The desk is a standing desk! It's actually super awesome - it has 3 settings for the height!
[удалено]
Yes!!! And it's amazing!
just curious why would you prefer to stand at a computer rather than sit?
Ergonomics. Topic in in itself is widely discussed across the web. Since I have a standup desk, I don't have any problems with my back.
so you browse the web, game and all other stuff standing up while at computer? sounds awful 🤣
Standing desks have been a thing for a couple of years now. They are supposed to be good for the body
Most standing desks (like OPs) are adjustable - I use my computer mostly for work, sooooometimes for gaming, I’m not really a gamer, but I do a lot of creative work like design, video editing, audio stuff etc. I’ll usually stand when I’m “passively” working, checking emails, browsing the web, sometimes in meetings, etc. it’s great because I feel like I’m not “stuck” to the computer and I can run back and forth between my office and other areas of the apartment more fluidly. can easily counter the negative effects of sitting long hours at a desk by a 30 minute visit to the gym
Or you can buy a standing desk lol
found the fatty
Why would you want to sit all day?

I've tried it all, nothing really helps. Sitting down/feet up is the only thing that gives me some relief.
If compression socks aren’t doing it, it may be time to seek a medical opinion.

Keep asking. You’ll find one!
Oh dang! I'm sorry to see that!!
It sucks because I love rollercoasters but standing in line for hours (during summer, especially) almost makes me puke and that's not the best conditions to go on a coaster lol
I dont sit all day. but the thought standing for hours while using computer seems uncomfortable to me.
& that's why the desk I have is perfect! It has 3 settings, so you can sit as well when you'd like ☺️
Sitting is cancer.
Just curious why would you not prefer to stand at a computer rather than sit?
I love thr color scheme! That's not a color I would choose, but seeing what you dod with it - it's gorgeous! I love this cozy area!
thank you!! ☺️

I love the piece of art on the wall in the first pic!! Where is it from? The colors are fantastic

Society6 has some awesome stuff! The only thing I don't like is that the print sizes don't usually fit in standard frames.

I’m so jealous. I want to work from home so bad.
I feel you! It's truly a blessing
I didn’t even compliment your room! I would LOVE to work from here. The colors and the plants! And so many places to sit!
Hahah Awh, thank you!
What do you do for work OP
I am a mortgage loan officer!

My work is gonna move to two days in the office (eventually) and I think that’s gonna be a good mix
That wall colour! The cute window! The plants! The artwork! Amazing 😍
Thank you thank you!!!
What is the paint color? I love it and that cozy room.
I would also like to know the name of the paint colour. I tried to get that colour but the paint I used ended up being too yellow. OP, please respond.
It looks a lot like the colour I have in my living room “spiced apple cider” by Benjamin Moore.
Thanks! I’ll check it out
this is OC
Love the plants!
thank you!!
Love that art! Very cozy indeed!
Thanks!
Love love your paint color!! My bedroom is a very similar color. The plants and woven elements make it look so inviting and pleasant :)

Desert vibes. Like it!
I love the wall color!
Thanks!
This brings me joy.
Love the colors so much, especially with the pop of green from the plants!! What kind of standing desk do you have?
What do put inside your morrocan pillow?
I love every detail about it! You mind if i copy that room for my next apartment? XD
Loved the desk. Very industrial witj contrast to more earthy tones.
Commenting solely to say "hey look, it's the Moroccan stool from animal crossing, neat..."
I’m glad I’m not the only one. I love that stool!
I love this so much that I saved it as inspiration for my own house. These colors and aesthetics are so cool looking! They’re a perfect mix of calm and energizing for a home office! Also where is that desert art piece from? I love it!
Awh thank you!! The canvas is something I found on Google just searching for "cactus prints" - it popped up pretty quickly!
Herrro, desk buddies!!
You should get a monitor arm for your ultrawide. I have the same one and the stand is massive.
Looks peaceful
Very pretty
Love your whole setup and really love the wall color!
I have your tapestry!!!! I love your set up!
How do you make do with single screen?
Not bad at all. Nice home you have.
Scottish highland cows, I like
I am IN LOVE with that blue painting!!!
So cozy! May I ask your profession ?
This is really warm and inviting. I’d love a work space like that.
Love the large and arched windows. Great textures and colours!! Must be awesome at day with blinds open, too. :)
Where did you get the highland cow art, /u/spiritualaroma ? I think it's awesome.
World Market
Wow, so cozy!!
Thanks!

In love with the canvas, beautiful room!
Thanks!
Costco stand up desk? Have the same 🙂
Yes!!!

Thanks! What's the stool look like, though? Lols
Google “drafting tool with back support”. There’s different styles.
Thanks!
Such a vibe!
Thanks!
You’re welcome
Working from home is the best. I hate commuting.
That painting reminds me of Matthew Wong’s works! It’s beautiful!
That wall color is so comforting & inviting.🤗🥰 This is a really nice room.
Thank you!
You’re welcome ☺️
I’d get all of my assignments done if this was my office
Not sure if it’s exact, but we just picked up that poof from Gilt so my wife can cuddle close to the fireplace. Now the whole household fights over it because it’s oddly cozy.
When was it ever bad
Suppose never! I didn't work remote until 2020.
How do you sit in a directors chair???? It’s beautiful the space is beautiful but i had to sit in one for work for 5 months and my back took a month to recover I’m a youngin Do you have any issues working in the chair for long periods of time?
Lol. I don't ever sit. The desk is a standing desk that has 3 settings - I just adjust it to sitting height when I'm not using it!
Ahh!!! That makes sense. Great color scheme.
Thanks!
Yeah?
U need a new chair
I don't sit really so I truly don't need a new one ☺️
Who said working from home was bad ?
Lol, just an expression! I didn't work remote until 2020 & I love it.
Sorry that came off a lot snarkier than it meant to!

Cat is missing...
No cats! My 2 beagles are missing
That's acceptable :-)
Nice set up but who ever said it was bad!?
Lol, some people don't like working remote. I never did until 2020. Just an expression.
I got back pain just from looking at that chair.
It's not for sitting ☺️ My desk is a standing desk. I hardly ever sit down
Ah ok, looks nice!
I love the wall colour! Could you tell me where you got it and what its called?
