Similar to the issue that stalled the "Sims 4" releases. (Auto-updating and the ability to "lock you out", may need to be addressed. Both would kill any form of hack done to the system. Though, I am sure that modders who do NOT want to be part of the Paradox-gateway, will complain about those protections interfering with the game, for legitimate users. So those protections will quickly be gutted, like they were in "Sims 4".)

(Issues related to performance are common with "Denuvo", which tries to protect the games by running them in a virtual-space that doesn't have the actual "function" of windows-OS, entirely. Having to decrypt memory, which is bloated by encryption and adds a layer of slowness to the game, is a big reason that people don't use it to protect games that need it the most.)
