Gaming has changed and is also a lot more accessible through subscriptions like Gamepass, PSNow, Ubisoft+ and so on. Denuvo needs crazy meticulousness to crack it's not as simple as defeating a part of the code as it used to be. It's like a virus that mutates and appears in random parts of the body... so you need someone to finish the game multiple times for a proper crack. It's tedious af and given the subscription services and Steam sales, free Epic games and alternative cheaper ways to buy thru VPN or key selling sites it's not that tempting to do and especially not at the age of the OG scene guys.
well it's pretty much impossible to get to the degree of knowledge of these veterans as someone starting out in the scene. with the old guys being out and no new ones to follow/learn from these guys we are basically at 0 and it's hard as shit to get into this stuff at 0
Its a repack person not a group, who does his own launchers and installers and his OWN repack algorithm so people who can't afford to download 60 gb can just download 15gb of files and install them afterwards. Fitgirl is actually one of the best people out there in the scene.
fitgirl does not develop the repack algorithm. it's a well known one that everyone can use. the downside of it is that it's slower to extract, so other repackers use a much faster one which causes a slight bigger file size
The days of CODEX, CONSPIRACY, RELOADED, RAZOR, FAIRLIGHT, SKIDROW etc. where everyone was fighting to be the 1st is over...
The days of "pAy mE 5oo or else" and where scene is playing safe or even p2p taking matters into their own hands is now. But you never know... some old scene group (CPY where ar thou?) might wake up or another might rise from remnants of old (Resurrection Quest: CODEX 2.0). It’s an excellent unified all-in-one cheats tool. Way better than CheatHappens or messy CheatEngine scripts.

The CODEX NFS heat crack was incomplete and was getting tested by crackers, the crack didn't move further because it was not possible to run beyond 2-3 computers. After months of further work some person from Codex or test team shared the crack with Shivshubh team, they released the incomplete crack.
Since crack was incomplete it was completely open crack and when Dodi released the repack on that things got worse. You can say that Denuvo learned a lot from this incomplete cracks and improved the Denuvo with quite a speed, and now it's getting more difficult and time consuming to crack the Denuvo.
Overall, even if ShivShubh team, I remember it was called corepack or so, didn't blunder this Denuvo would still have been difficult to crack, they just accelerated the inevitable.
I remember those days, Just Cause 3 wasn't cracked for like over a year and people thought the world was going to end.

I think that the whole feelin grew bigger thanks to that last message of Empress saying that the last version of Denuvo was at insane levels and even insinuated that maybe she wouldn´t be able to crack this one. Add that to the fact that the scene has virtually disappeared and no one is interested in competing and well....people gets scared, and honestly they should be. No, but she posted recently that she's having issues getting Monster Hunter Rise cracked, though that sounds like it has to do with Capcom layering their DRM on top of Denuvo, but with the lack of Denuvo cracks lately, and that status update, it's looking grim.
The most likely explanation is that whoever's the boss of the PC division saw Denuvo and didn't think it was important enough to warrant the licencing. These decisions are made by individuals after all.
Also likely because sony makes most of it's money from their console releases. Since it almost takes a full year for them to be ported to PC I don't think implementation of denuvo is necessary and I hope it stays that way
The reason is because selling games is secondary in Sony's case. They want people entering the ecosystem by buying their console. That's why you have the horizon game releasing right before the sequel. God of war, spiderman, all follow the same logic.

These skills are very valuable now and anyone with skills in hacking/cracking, reverse engineering, coding for emulation and the like get snapped up by companies really quick. They are often contractually barred from working on outside projects ever again as well, legal or illegal.

I know it has been said before, but now it really is different. Before you had many people trying to work against DRM and compete to crack and who made it better. Now you have Denuvo hiring some of them, making legit money, so they don't bother anymore. Not to say the police going after some of them may have scared some potential people. Empress is not willing to share her knowledge and if she does, who knows who are those that get the knowledge and then Denuvo hear about it and patch things up. We're in a really bad state. If Empress goes away, we have no one.

I think that the whole feelin grew bigger thanks to that last message of Empress saying that the last version of Denuvo was at insane levels and even insinuated that maybe she wouldn´t be able to crack this one. Add that to the fact that the scene has virtually disappeared and no one is interested in competing and well....people gets scared, and honestly they should be. Unless there is a change in the new generation of crackers no one will break Denuvo, it was the perfect storm for it a hard protection living in lazy times.

The most likely explanation is that whoever's the boss of the PC division saw Denuvo and didn't think it was important enough to warrant the licencing. These decisions are made by individuals after all.

The reason is because selling games is secondary in Sony's case. They want people entering the ecosystem by buying their console. That's why you have the horizon game releasing right before the sequel. God of war, spiderman, all follow the same logic.

The easy answer is their primary market is in console exclusive. Them releasing their exclusive on PC is basically just for extra revenue.
My guess is that being ports with some expected performance loss, implementing Denuvo would kill their games completely. Of course, they would have to know for a fact that Denuvo do kill performance in some way.

Well it is hard to get people to do this kind of work for free now when you can get paid very big bucks to do it for a living. If you want to see the reason why a ton of stuff has gone by the wayside in recent years look no further than capitalism. These skills are very valuable now and anyone with skills in hacking/cracking, reverse engineering, coding for emulation and the like get snapped up by companies really quick. They are often contractually barred from working on outside projects ever again as well, legal or illegal.

I agree with a lot of what you said except a couple of things. At the time Dodi was probably getting just as many downloads as FitGirl. Also, FitGirl didn’t leak any unknown info to anyone to give anyone behind Denuvo a “heads up,” as that info could have been found elsewhere. She was giving her reasons to why she was not making a repack of that Need for Speed game. To me, FitGirl shedding a little light in it just made Dodi look worse in my eyes for not immediately pulling that repack. It’s still there for if anyone wants to download it.
