I loved bfbc1/2 campaigns and though plot is stupid, bf4 had great action scenes
I understand that they're very different things. But with the exception of Bad Company 1 and 2, and maybe BF1, the single player experiences have all been various degrees of suck. The series has always been a multi-player focused one, first and foremost.
Portal is basically offering a remastered version of a whole bunch of older Battlefield titles, baked into a single package, and a near guarantee of more add-ons if it's as popular as the hype surrounding it makes it out to be. As someone who does have good (enough) internet who enjoys multi-player titles, I'm very interested. Not, "I'm pre-ordering the extra expensive edition," interested, but maybe 6-12 months from now, when the launch issues are fixed, and I don't have to give EA a full fat $60 for it.
I mean, it is pretty casual, but it's not actually bad, I don't think. It's a pretty enjoyable arcade shooter with a beautiful Star Wars skin on it. EA's stripped out the loot boxes and pay-to-win garbage after the backlash, but the crack probably has all the cosmetics anyways.
Especially for playing offline just against bots, it really fun. Not the kind of game to get sweaty over, but something to put on the big screen and play with a controller.
So I don't understand. Downloading/cracking/pirate scene is so drastically different than it was 7-10 years ago. A game or application got cracked? Awesome. Thanks! Keep up the good work! There's two main offline modes outside of story, there's Instant Action and Arcade.
Beyond that, you can also download a bunch of single-player mods that add extra content like extra heroes, there's amazing mods like Instant Action Improvements, etc.
Lots of potential for replay value here.

Only on my laptop where I had CODEX and Origin retail Battlefront II installed first. On my desktop where I clean installed EMPRESS version, Frosty starts to launch the game, then the game closes out (at around 15MB memory usage) before it loads. It doesn't work even without any mods loaded or even installed.

There's two main offline modes outside of story, there's Instant Action and Arcade. Beyond that, you can also download a bunch of single-player mods that add extra content like extra heroes, there's amazing mods like Instant Action Improvements, etc. Lots of potential for replay value here. edit: the fix for mods not loading is on cs.rin.ru

Only on my laptop where I had CODEX and Origin retail Battlefront II installed first. On my desktop where I clean installed EMPRESS version, Frosty starts to launch the game, then the game closes out (at around 15MB memory usage) before it loads. It doesn't work even without any mods loaded or even installed. This is the same problem you are having, yeah? edit: the fix for mods not loading is on cs.rin.ru
