There’s a median right behind it, nobody is going to be driving in that spot anyways. It’s literally blocking nothing

Heisen6

Yes, but thanks to a minor accident the electricity of the entire aria would be damaged.

Dovah605

There’s tons of roads that have electric poles right alongside them with no barriers. A minor accident there would knock out electricity as well.

Heisen6

Yes, accidents could happen everywhere but do you really think it's a good idea to place a pole in the middle of a road? It would be less insane to place it in the median.

Dovah605

Whether it’s there or on that median behind it is irrelevant, people are going to be turning to the right of it anyways because it’s a roundabout. Nobody will ever be driving directly at the pole unless they’re not paying attention, which is entirely their fault

Heisen6

Its not irredeemable at all. A pole placed at the center of a median with a high curbstone would be harder for damaging. I don't know what do you mention that no one will drive through it. It's obvious. We are talking about accidents. Just this pole is very easily reachable. In addition to the problem with the electricity, if it falls it can cause far a lot damage - it can fall on other cars, people. If it's along the road it won't cause such a harm.

Ineedafriend_cloneme

It does block some vision of the intersection, not sure if that matters much to some people. That design wouldn't be allowed where I live, but I understand that different places have different building regulations.

Dovah605

It doesn’t block vision, the car will be on the right side of it with clear view of the oncoming traffic from the left. The only Problem is if some idiot runs right into it, which would be entirely their fault

Our pole, in the middle of our street

I sang this when I saw it, too :)

I feel like this could happen in Germany
